What is the best part of working at the company?
The work usually isn't hard and staff is good to work with. They listen and try to work with your needs. I have had things come up and scheduling tries to accommodate. There is usually extra shifts to have if you need them. Just be comfortable working independently and listen/  try to do things the way patient and family like while staying within your scope of practice. I am older and this job has allowed me to sit down more. It is positively not as demanding as hospital nursing!!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Being in a home verses a hospital, nursing home, or any medical place of business , if you need something together your job done or for your patient sometimes the wait is stressing.  Example: I have a Yankauer. I need a 14 fr. suction catheter. Yankauer will do but suction catheter would be ideal. You nurses know what I mean.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I think it is fine. Office staff is pleasant and greet you, ask what they can do for you, etc.  I don't take up a lot of their time and I don't hang around in the office. I don't see the management much unless someone makes a home visit, and they usually give a heads up before they come. I have learned nursing management wants to see current vital signs and nurse documentation. Really, if you are documenting and "painting the picture" in your notes you have nothing to worry about.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Begining shift is usually the busiest but still not crazy busy because there is only one patient. There is down time when your patient has down time, and you can get your assessment and vital signs entered in the computer and in the binder in the patient's room. Medication s are per Dr. orders and are on a MAR in the binder, so after giving them I'll sign them off. If DOL has approved a CNA or homemaker then you have extra help and that's always nice, but if not then   you have to give all the care and you know how that is. Some days are busier than others but it has never been as demanding on my body like hospital or long term care is.  This is a good fit for me at this time in my life.

With over 40 years of experience in nursing, I have worked in various positions, including management.

My employment with QPDC has spanned approximately 18 months, during which I have been responsible for providing in-home nursing care to patients under the Department of Labor (DOL) program. I have found my work to be deeply rewarding, with each day presenting new opportunities for growth and fulfillment.

For over five years, I was employed by another company that catered to Department of Labor patients. Although both companies operated under the same DOL regulations, their operational styles differed significantly. At QPDC, the management team, HR, staffing coordinators, and case managers maintained an unapproachable attitude. However, the benefits were excellent, and the pay was fair.

So, you have split shifts most of the time. Most of the time, I had last minute changes on schedule for patients needing to be seen. You worked  every other weekend. The pay wasn’t worth me staying. I was a homemaker doing jobs for CNAs. Little training. Paid weekly. If you needed time off for an emergency or doctors appointment, they would tell you they couldn’t find anyone to take your patient for that shift. You were on call all the time. However, you did get overtime. Management was friendly, but at the time I was there, they didn’t have enough CNAs. If you worked full time, you made a dollar under part-time employees. But you got paid holidays and vacation time. I loved meeting all my patients and working with them. I worked with good employees. If they paid better, I’d still be with them. But, it does get stressful. Sometimes, they’d schedule me in Algood and expect me to get to my other patient, who’s an hour away, within 15 minutes.  

As a homemaker, you assisted with any daily living skills- cooking, housekeeping, bathing, toileting, etc.  Typically it was pretty easy. I loved any and all of the patients I worked with during my time here, they made it all worth it. 
Any of my problems stemmed from management and office staff. Getting what you want as far as raises and time off was definitely about who you know and who you're related to or how much of someone's butt you have to kiss.
Definitely don't make anyone mad. 
They came off as some of the sweetest, friendliest people you'll ever meet but behind the scenes, there was always some kind of drama and complaining going on in office. If they don't like you, they'll talk bad about you as soon as you walk out of the building or out of the room if they think you're out of ear shot. 
I wouldn't say "don't waste your time" because it is a pretty good little company to work for, but be careful. 
Come in, do what you're being paid for and go home. 

A typical day at work begins by politely greeting the patient, letting them know that we will provide the services outlined in their care plan, such as bathing, shaving, changing clothes, changing the bed, providing breakfast, and reminding them of their medications. We always learn something new every day because patients don't always behave the same way. Our management as professionals focuses on improving the patient's quality of life. The most challenging part of the job, which we are already accustomed to, is when we have to transfer patients from one place to another, or when we have to use technical equipment like a patient lift to transport a heavy patient. However, by using the proper technique, it can be done successfully.

I am an employee and my hubby is a patient. The hardest part about my job is learning how to deal with his ever changing diseases. I love that this company takes the time to teach me what I need to know and take the time to understand the difficulties of being the full-time caregiver. The nurses give me the time I need to regroup it even get away from the house when needed. It is great to know that I'm not alone in caring for my hubby, but it's even better knowing that they care so much about us both. The management in Oak Ridge is the best. They listen and do all they can to assist where they can. I am always learning about my hubby's conditions and how to care for him the best ways from this company. I also love that when I do all questions, I always get the truth whether it's good or bad. I truly value that 

I had been looking for a job outside of the stressful hustle and bustle of hospital nursing/ busy clinics. When I got this job, I didn't know what to expect, but management helped me to have a smooth transition into private duty nursing. I love working for this company and have since learned that this is the area of nursing that best suites my family and I. I am now able to come home happy and stress free knowing how much I enjoy my job. My main problem with hospital and clinics was feeling like I never got to spend adequate time with my patients. I feel like I have already made a positive impact on my regular patient's life/ medical care. I am so blessed to have found such a company that truly cares about their employees and patients. 

I have been in health care for almost 25 years. The medical field is always changing, but I enjoy change and the challenges that go with change..especially if it benefits the patients, I have worked for this company for almost 7 years now and have enjoyed my employment. The management has an open door policy and have helped me when I needed help. Most of the negative reviews are more disgruntled than anything else. One thing I was taught from a young age is to be accountable for my actions. Many these days do not want that. But I definitely would recommend Quality to family and friends as a place to work. Remember..if you want better, it has start with ourselves.

It's not a company it's a private client paying g out of their own pocket for health care for their family member that in need of assistant that facilities can not provide to them properly. It's an one on one Healthcare business.

The most stressful part about private duty it's that you are sole assistant and it's an around the clock kind of deal.

It's a beautiful environment peaceful because you are the sole person taking care of them without any other person beside the family that has anything to comment on.

A typical day is a peaceful sunny or cold day of solitude.

A typical day at work involves many duties including hiring, training, educating, maintaining relationships with employees, patients, their families, insurance groups and referral sources. I've learned to balance and organize many different tasks in a fast pace environment. It is our goal to treat everyone with positive, reinforcing culture. Challenging is the word I would describe, working here, but the personal and professional growth and knowledge gained from the challenges is perfect for me. The most enjoyable thing is being able to help all employees to be successful and our patients to be satisfied with the care they receive.
