The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to work with the patients and being able to help people. I was very satisfied with my position within this company. I loved the people I worked with and found it easy to find people all around me with good intentions and genuinly cared. The admistration is out of touch with the day to day flow of a BHT s job and its as if the were a seperate  place of buisness entirely. The administration is constantly changing policys, they constantly call people in for any sort of thing  and instead of praising their employees for the time and dedication they put into the company does not matter. Insentives are hardly followed through and if you call off during a pay period you loose all your incentives. They will call you off a shift now because of overstaffing.  and terminate long term employees because of new management and then hold 3 orientation classes.When I was called in to speak to the new upper management she had assured meshe simply wanted to speak to me. I thought she was calling me in to thank me for all the time and dedication I put into my work and almost being employed a year thought I was finally going to be told by management that I was appreciated, I was then given an ulta matum to be terminated without reason and have to pay back my hire on bonus or sign a statement of resignation. She asked me which would it be . I loved my job and went to bat for every single person I worked with  and truly poured my heart into working here. I worked upto 80 hours a week and I loved being there.

There is no organization in staffing in any department. No sensible plan for staffing crisis except to further exhaust the already in place staff. No planning in advance. Current leadership promoted internally have a dictator mentality to supervision, and write ups are frequent as a result of displaced angry feelings and retaliation versus actual behaviors in the workplace. Employees are at the discretion of how their supervisor feels that day, including their reaction to feeling threatened by employees who are far more sensible, educated, liked and who set boundaries. Please read the handbook, as Quail Run standards are blurry and at the discretion of an emotionally unstable leadership group who lack management training, understanding of employees and leadership skills and the basic knowledge to perform the roles they are supervising. Not to mention, leader of Clinical Intake Department has no education in clinical role, ethics or licensure. 

Every system as QRBH is broken. Unsafe staffing ratios although they will promise it’s not. The people promising “it’s safe” don’t even step on the floor. Micromanage every aspect of work but deny they do. Unhealthy, toxic, punitive culture. They look for 101 ways to “improve your performance” but offer no resources you identify. Unable to focus on one task or role, asked to be all and do all, all the time, without question or delay. Unrealistic and exhausting. Very top heavy and expect the real workers to just suck it up and get it done and not complain. Only redeeming point is my peers. They are all hard working and we watch out for each other. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have stayed a day. If they offer a sign on bonus, there’s a reason why. High turnover. No consistency. Different rules and policies daily. Different answers depends on who’s working. Make you feel like you’re stupid and useless, but then beg you to work more or longer. 

Working for this company has made me physically ill. They are continuously understaffed and have no contingency plan for it. If there are groups to run and your colleague calls out, you get to run all the groups, even if that means working a 12 hour day, (even though you are salary and only get paid for 8 of those hours.) One would think you'd be able to leave early another day but that doesn't happen either. Salaried employees are treated like chattel. They work for a company that treats people for mental illness while completely disregarding its complicit contribution to the chronic stress of its employees. Chronic stress is the number one cause of mental illness. In other words, there is a fine line between the patients and anyone who has worked at this place for any length of time. And this is a direct result of extremely poor management.

Beware this company! At first, they will try to fool you into thinking that they are happy to have you on board, but wait a few months and they will really let their true colors show. Like the other reviews, administration is really full of themselves and will not listen to their employees. There is such a disconnect between the higher-ups and the people that actually work with patients, which is ridiculous. Every week, there are always new "policies" and they are never documented. Management will try to get co-workers to turn against each other and will throw people under the bus during their meetings. I would say that the only positive thing I got out of this job are the co-workers and colleagues I had. The RNs, social workers, intake coordinators, housekeepers, cooks, finance people and BHTs were such nice people to work with.

This hospital has a lot of potential but still has a lot of bugs to iron out.  It currently does not have an active director of nursing.  Supervisors tend not to last there very long and it made it hard to know who to turn to when issues came up.  I worked the night shift there and due to some changes in my personal life, am looking for day shift employment.  They didn't have any open positions. I like the staff there and overall, it was a fun place to work at.  The most enjoyable part of the job for me is working with the patients.  I also always have fun with my fellow co-workers.  I enjoy being part of a team and working to make my place of employment a better place.  A typical day of employment consisted of hard work, and often we would be short staffed.  Fortunately, with a good team, we would pull together and make it work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The only good thing while working here were some of the employees.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constant stress. "Work until you drop" mentality. Go, go, go all day long with barely time to use the bathroom or eat. The work pace is killer! Gave it a chance but nothing ever changes. Constantly being floated to all floors, sometimes all day long.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Employees are practically worked to death.  Working here is akin to working in a sweat shop. Management constantly micromanages everyone on the floor and watches all floor employees on camera for the slightest infraction. Management Personnel are extremely punitive. Don't Work Here!!!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Non stop from the moment I punched in until the moment I punched out.

This place is soooooo full of themself, management is horrible,, does not stand up for employees at all. You work short all the time. And they want 100% even though your alone on the floor, most of the staff are friendly and nice. There are others there that are only taking up space and hate the job. Literally I heard a nurse say one time I'm here for the money that's it. There is a reason they give you a $2,500 sign on bonus for BH t cuz most of them Won't Last a year and they will collect your money and make you pay them back. You have a CEO that sits and watches video of staff and picks out every little thing someone does wrong if you're going to work there good luck worst place I've ever worked nice people for the most part management sucks.

They have some really good people, very dedicated.  However the dept director is young and lacks skill in managing people.  She's nice and very dedicated to the company, but lacks the skills to manage without yelling and micro managing to the extreme.  There seems to be different guidelines everyday.  Just when I think I have something down, it changes.  I know things change and know that's just life, but very frustrating when your new and trying to learn something completely new.  I've learned a lot!! and still have a lot to learn.  I have been in charge positions at my other jobs and feel I can manage well, my time as well as delegating work.  I really am thankful that Quail Run has given me the opportunity to learn a new nursing role and I feel good about what I'm doing.

If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and are able to multi-task, Quail Run's intake department is a solid place to work. There are obviously good and bad days, but overall the management and staff are supportive - I always feel like help is available when I need it. The current team is close-knit and works well together.  The great pay is also a huge bonus. 

This role could be overwhelming for some as it does involve quite a variety of duties/responsibilities in a somewhat chaotic environment. However, there are hardly ever boring days!
