If you're looking for flexibility this is the job for you. If you're looking for money , advancement or a great career , keep searching. The pay is pretty much what it is. They don't even mention a pay raise. When learning new skills there's no pay increase only workload and a thank you. There's absolutely no training. If there's a new product they throw you to the wolves and tell you to figure it out. The workday I pretty smooth and anything you learn will come from other techs , not management , terrible. Management works off a who I like the most bases , or a who can I make my puppet. theres nothing but favoritism especially in the MD shop. The hardest part of the job is the lack of training which makes your job hard , other than that its pretty easy. The manager in the MD shop has a poor attitude but if you're friends with her you can do whatever you want. My review is a little scorn but the truth. Negotiate a great base pay because thats what you'll pretty much be making the whole time there. Become friends with management so they'll like you and make sure you ask other techs what to do. Good luck !

I applied for this job to start a career and after working at Quench for over a year it is clear that I won't find that here. The pay is good if you have zero debt and fresh out of college, other than that get used to living paycheck to paycheck. We are salaried but treating at hourly, having to clock in and out of different statues depending if you're going to the bathroom, lunch, meeting, et cetera. Also be weary of the points, you'll accumulate them at an unreasonable rate and nothing will be said until you're at the brink of being terminated. The work/life balance they advertise is accurate, if you work on the second floor with the executives. If you do not, then get ready to be overwhelmed with work due to the high turnover at the company. The upper management doesn't understand the ins and outs of our jobs and don't bother to learn either. There is also a lot of favorability which allows some people to act unprofessional and treat coworkers however they want, while others are being watched like a hawk and will be thrown under the bus the moment a situation escalates.

Over the last 18 months Quench had went from a good place to work and excel to a poor place to work and excel.  They are much more concerned with their employees being on time then they are in performance.  There are cliques inside the company and promotions are given to those inside the cliques

Since the company has gone public the culture changed from feeling inclusive to feeling monitored and restricted.  

As a customer care associate your work station is very small and uncomfortable, the chairs are old and very bad for sitting in for long stretches, which you do.  

That being said; there are pros to working at Quench, such as the people are very nice, the dress code is casual (jeans, leggings, T-shirts, ect), the water/coffee is delicious, and they have fun events throughout the year.

While the work can be repetitive at times, every customer has specific needs & requirements.  This required a personal relationship with the customer, and a good understanding of the employees needs & wants.  I enjoyed having many great relationships with my customers, and loved talking to employees within to learn what could be better for them.  I have many locations such as Toyota and Cummins; where I would speak with 10-20 people in search of complaints or concerns.  I was on a first name basis with many people, and have established some great friendships in this business. 

The Cons:  the physical lifting of ice makers and other equipment was hard on my back, knees, & shoulders.  Many locations were not dolly friendly, and required the hand carrying of 40-50 pounds all day.  I started this position in good shape, and currently unable to work in this field following 2 back surgeries.

There’s no longevity here unless you enjoy working in chaos. It’s a nice entry level position, but there’s no career growth or compensation benefit for your future. Management needs retraining. It’s very unorganized and most of your day is spent correcting a problem that was caused by the company in the first place. You have no voice and most of your concerns are put in an envelope and mailed to santa in the north pole. A lot of people have tried to help change the company for the better, point out problems for correction, help the customer- But it’s like this company doesn’t care about any of that and would rather ignore its workers and function in disorganization. I know you’re reading this thinking it sounds like any other job- but I’m telling you, please listen: This is not like any normal job. Please work ANYWHERE else. If you don’t, you will be finding another job within 6 months.

From the moment I started at Quench it was disorganized. I've never been employed at a place that has been in business for 20+ years and function as if it was established last week. The pay, if you're just starting out, is okay if you're single with no kids. A typical day at work is chaotic. You try to give your input but its not worth it because it'll get brushed off. You'd think they'd listen to people who are on the floor and constantly communicating with the customers. I've got an idea, GET AN ONLINE PAYMENT SYSTEM. It's not the 80's, get on par with the world. Quench has amazing products and the product line grow each year, unfortunately, Quench isn't growing with it. Somewhere down the line Culligan will sell Quench like Quench acquires other companies and everyone will lose their jobs. GET IT TOGETHER!

This was a while quite a while ago but was thinking about the experience the other day.
Quench at the time was run by ex copier guys. Perhaps they come up with the idea to rent coolers. 
It doesn't take a genius to see how they sell and make money. Similar model as other businesses.  They install and lease equipment, give the title to the bank and walk away. They take monthly rent and service when they must.
I think for  a while they had no competition and placed thousands of units in and around Philadelphia. My luck to get on board when the market was becoming saturated. Not exactly an easy sell, especially when you could on commissions for a living.
I was working on a large account and was fired immediately after introducing the new Sales Manager to my decision maker. I never forgot that.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The independence of not having anybody to physically report to. My boss lived in Indianapolis while I lived in Saint Louis.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Some of the installs. They're Usually pretty easy but sometimes it can get difficult fishing water lines through walls and ceilings.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's whatever you make it because it's Usually just you in the work van driving from job to job 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wake up, start my van and begin driving before or by the time my shift started. Drive to my first job or the storage shed if I needed to restock my company work van. Go from one job to the next then drive home and park at my house at the end of my shift.

the things that Quench brought to the table were awesome and made work/life time very balanced, the opportunity to be promoted was there and everyone was trained appropriately.

Until this new acquisition with waterlogic unfolded, everything that quench brought to its service techs was completely ripped out as new management came in and basically restructured everything. no one is trained to do hardly anything, i was left with a manager that had no idea what was going on and had to train and get him headed in the right direction to do his job properly. 

Its chaos over there right now at the time of this review and just to let anyone else know if they plan on joining this company is you better be willing to role with alot of punches cause since this merger it doesnt stop 

 

Where should I start? The company as a whole is unorganized. Management has no idea of what they are doing. Old beat up vans are given to techs. It’s a real bad “figure it out” mentality. For the amount of work we are paid horribly. Long drives because dispatcher places you 35-45 minutes away from each job. Corporate is a joke. They don’t care what the techs are going through All they care about is meeting certain numbers. As bad as waterlogic was, quench takes the cake for worst water supply company. Waterlogic had lots of flaws but they paid weekly and lots of overtime. Quench has cut all overtime. And you are expected to build Rome in your 8 hour work day.
