Glacier Bancorp fosters an environment where other employees are considered to be "customers" every bit as much as bank customers. For this reason, it is not uncommon for people to go out of their way to help employees in other departments. I think part of this culture has to do with Glacier's knack for finding and hiring quality people. I love the people I work with!

There is ALWAYS something new to learn! Perhaps it's the nature of banking, and the never ending / always changing stream of regulations. Regardless of the reason, you will not get bored in this industry! I have been with Glacier Bancorp for nearly 18 years, and have very much enjoyed this aspect of my job. It can be challenging at times, but never dull!

There is room to grow with this company. If you are willing to work hard, continue learning, and meet new challenges, there is opportunity for advancement.

I've been at Glacier for almost 16 years and it's been a great place.  I'm looking to expand my horizons with a new company if it's the right fit.
Relaxed atmosphere for the most part, with the typical IT emergencies from time to time.  I enjoy working with my co-workers  , some of whom I've worked with for over 10 years now.
My day starts at 7AM - 4PM and a lot of the time I take my laptop home to do after hours work.   Overtime has been a steady part of the job for many years now.

Always something to do and something to improve on for my job. Never have to think, what should I do next. Pay is lower than most areas, but they do have better benefits than a lot of others. Executive management is not the greatest on providing clarity for standards for work/life. Gone back and forth after COVID for what standards will be for work status.

Working at Glacier is a bit of a mixed bag. Most of the people you work with are great, and the benefits are really good, but they try to keep a very lean staff and pay is definitely below average. Annual performance reviews seem to have very little affect on raises, which can lead to top performers leaving the company while some employees stick around for life doing just above the bare minimum.

Good pay, management is unsupportive and there are too many people with 20+ years seniority so there is no career growth. You will thrive if you enjoy working solo. Vacation days are really good compared to competitors especially if you've worked here for an eternity like most of the corporate staff has. Health benefits aren't great but good bonuses most years.

I would have to say it was one of the best places I have ever worked. The managers were supportive and present, swinging by your desk every day just to say 'Hi' or 'Good morning'. They treat their employees with respect and are very professional.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Just a typical nine to five

I work for a division of Glacier Bank so it might not be the same for every bank. My bank is so fun. Every day I have a list of objectives to complete and my lenders are awesome to work with. The company, though corporate, is incredibly good to their employees at every level. PTO accrual is impressive and pay is consistently good and grows each year. Awesome place to work. 

I started just as they closed the lobby due to Covid-19.  They did keep us on the schedule so that we could get our hours but I didn’t learn much in the way of “Teller” work because there were no customers.  We opened the lobby back up and a week later they let me go because of “job performance and behavior” ??
They would not give me any specifics when I asked, they just rushed me out the door.

I enjoyed working for glacier bank. I feel I was more fairly compensated when I worked in the loan department as opposed to the teller line (Higher annual bonus, higher wage, more free lunches, etc.) Teller line is fast paced but manageable and fun! I would still be working there if I didn't move.
