A typical day at work:
The workload itself was manageable, and I enjoyed helping patients and supporting the team. However, the environment became stressful due to inconsistent communication and lack of proper guidance from the supervisor in the Patient Relations department.
What I believe I learned:
I learned how to stay calm under pressure, manage high‑volume tasks, and support patients even when internal processes were unclear or constantly changing.
Management:
From my experience, the supervisor in the Patient Relations department did not demonstrate strong leadership or supervisory skills. There was little support, unclear expectations, and poor communication, which made the job more difficult than it needed to be.
Workplace culture:
The culture had potential, and many coworkers were kind and hardworking. Unfortunately, the lack of effective leadership created tension and unnecessary stress within the department.
Hardest part of the job:
The most difficult part was trying to perform well without proper direction or consistent support from management.
Most enjoyable part of the job:
The best part was helping patients, working with supportive coworkers, and knowing that my work made a difference for families who needed assistance

At work I am responsible for so many things. This company never fails to overload their clinical staff. We are so short staffed, never take our breaks, the work never ends. This job is so unsatisfying because our patients are never happy. The patients hate this place. Literally all we do is apologize and get yelled at by patients for management and provider failures.  We get new patients all the time due to great marketing strategies, and then lose them due to our lack of help and providers who are total big shots who seem to think all they have to do is make their appearance for the patients and then go on with their day . The providers are pampered and given anything in order to keep them happy. They allow the support staff to suffer in order to keep things moving at a low budget. Managers are paid poorly and have to deal with so much. They turn us over like we mean nothing. It’s sooooo bad here. Literally work work work and expect very little in return. But we do get to play dress up on spirit days…!!! (Lol) 
This place is failing. No one is happy that works here, we are all burnt out for real. Anyone who is happy it’s because they work for a provider that makes them feel special, actually does their part and takes that initiative to make their staff happy.  
Some people that work here are really amazing, but it’s not enough for me to leave a good review.  Also every clinic is different for real, some are better than others.

I have been with Rancho Health MSO since 2015, and although they were a big company then, they have only grown since and have provided so many opportunities for growth within the company, Rancho always attempts to send out opportunities to hire within before reaching out to the public, which I think is awesome, and a chance for a team member looking for a change to apply. I have loved every year working with Rancho, they have supported me in everything since I was hired, even situations that didnt have to do with work, they truly care about the employees and take every opportunity to support us. They provide flexibility within the job position, support from admin has always been there,  and Rancho has done an amazing job at hiring people that are amazing to work with and believe in a team setting, coming to work daily is never a problem because you know you will be around great team member. The doctors are amazing, they always provide opportunity to learn, even if you're not a Medical Assistant they love to teach. I would change these past 8 years for anything. Its been and still is a great place of employment.

The job is from 8-5 with an hour lunch break and 2 paid 15 minute breaks. The office does not have a lot of staff so you learn to form good and healthy relationships/boundaries with all. Sometimes tension arises though. Overall the manager is very supportive and very effective in her job. Training lacks at my location. It is more of "as you go" training but that allows me to pick things up faster since I won't learn it any other way. The doctor at my location tries to teach medical terminology and methods as he goes with patients. He's a good mentor when it comes to that. Overall, the company makes the working system so good. One thing that is great about working with Rancho is that when you're clocked out, you're clocked out and you can completely rest for the rest of the day.

Working at Rancho Family Medical group was a great experience. It was very fast paced on the daily, but during my time there it was growing at such a pace that basic structure was falling apart. There were so many issues with communication between the individual offices and management, as well as issues with scheduling every day. Unfortunately, this led to some bad rapport between the patients and the doctors/staff. Every so often, management made attempts to fix the issues, but it was never enough. I truly enjoyed working with the staff, and we all got along quite well for the most part. It was clear that there were some issues with nepotism in some offices, as well as some obvious mistrust between management and some staff that led to poor leadership positions in some offices. I am grateful for my time at RFMG though, as it did give me several years of experience in a very fast paced job, as well as necessary phone skills to work high volume.

I currently work here and I am taken advantage of but am told to be grateful for this learning experience. I have learned a lot but the amount of work on my plate (starting during training period) has continued to grow and there is little room for position advancement or compensation adjustments. When speaking with various levels of management, my concerns were not heard and no action was taken to improve on the lack of organization, unequal distribution of responsibilities or immaturity/unprofessionalism in the work place. You need to be favorited to get any recognition or appreciation for the hard work and long hours you are expected to do. They make us write these reviews because the turnover rate is awful.

My first seizure I’ve ever had in my life happened while working here prior to me planning a wedding as well and was told that if I took anymore unpaid time off I would be written up, I was going to doctor’s appointments and neurologist appointments to make sure I didn’t have a brain tumor or something else wrong, they preach empathy but don’t even show that to their own employees unless you happen to be their favorite. You have to tolerate patients being rude and cussing at you every other call, along with not being allowed to tell them to go to the ER because your not an RN.

Rancho Family Medical Group is a place where you are not just treated like any another employee. You are treated with respect, integrity and compassion. There is a lot of potential to grow in your respective field, you are trained to master your role. They work with your schedule and accommodate accordingly as well. Administration, providers and staff are friendly and easy to talk to, you feel right at home. Since starting with Rancho Family I’ve grown as a medical assistant and as a leader. I want to thank Rancho Family Medical Group for the opportunity to work and grow in my profession, they have given me the tools and guidance to fulfill me role. I recommend Rancho Family Medical Group to anyone who is passionate about healthcare and helping others! 

I have been working for Rancho going on 4 years and still loving it.  I really like the fact that they are family oriented, and I can honestly say that I work with some of the best providers and co-workers out there. Our office has a great and friendly atmosphere, our patients are always expressing how happy they are here with us and that our providers and staff makes them feel welcome, appreciated and cared for. Of course, not all is perfect, but any flaws that Racho may come across, I can assure you that they are always looking at new ways to improve on them. I can easily say that I see myself retiring from this company. I encourage people to apply with Rancho and become a part of our family. 

Workplace culture is feeling burnt out most times. No raises and difficult to request time off. A typical day at work means feeling micromanaged at all times.

There are many to list, but some are no work life balance, requesting to take time off is very difficult, management is not proactive, no yearly raises like most companies in the area do but you get a pat on the back for working hard I guess, you do not accumulate enough PTO with this company. If you are looking to grow in this company go elsewhere because there is favoritism for sure and it seems everyone is always trying to find something to get someone in trouble in hopes for a promotion somehow.
