The most stressful part of working at the company is the long hours and the demanding nature of the work, which can become overwhelming without a strong and supportive team in place.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is fast-paced and mission-driven, with a strong focus on client care and safety. The culture emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and accountability, where interdisciplinary coordination and support for direct support staff are essential to daily operations. As a relatively growing organization, Redwood continues to evolve and demonstrate ongoing efforts to improve and strengthen its programs and overall operations.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day as an Administrator is fast-paced and highly dynamic. It includes attending agency and team meetings, overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting direct support staff. The role also involves coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, communicating with families and service providers, reviewing documentation, and managing staffing and scheduling. Each day requires flexibility, strong problem-solving skills, and a consistent focus on maintaining a safe and supportive environment for the clients.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Team work, trainings to adequately equip its staff for core professionalism. Good pay, also looks out for the well being of the clients and Staff.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The frequent training, though for me, l love it because l am been training to be better in the career. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very warming and conducive.  The Administrator and other management staff are always there to support staff. There's always a listening ear. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I always look forward to going to work.  All hands on deck, to support individuals. Performing my assigned tasks for the day, with joy and the feeling that my management staff got my back on any support that l might be needing to carry out my job without stress and error.

I worked here in the beginning of Covid and it was always a little “disorganized” but as my tenor grew, it seemed to get worse and worse. There is no loyalty within the leadership structure and there was a large accountability issue that leaders would have. If you are constantly firing members of leadership and not having someone in the same role for a year, that is an issue. Scapegoating staff to protect one’s self was something I had seen a few times during my time. Everyone is “working from home” and leaves issues that need to be addressed left hanging. It’s not a surprise that they have constant issues with state compliance. Until leadership is addressed within the organization, this place will continue to fail and promote substandard care. Also some of the worst benefits I’ve ever seen as an employee. 

I really loved caring for my clients and working with my team. It felt really great to make a difference. Unfortunately, the overhead management really sucked, and I was the only caregiver for a client who regularly endangered themself as well as others by proxy. I started having full out panic attacks at work, and I requested that I be assigned to a different client that was not so volatile, I was refused. I had to go out on medical leave to deal with my concurrent PTSD diagnosis and ended up quitting. In addition to this, this company was on THIN ice with DSHS the entire time I was there, and it was bad. 

When I was with Redwood, my supervisor was great and a fantastic buffer between the upper level management who tended to be more harsh about specifics. It felt like the company was trying to acquire too many companies and grow too quickly without procedures established. Especially since different states have different licensing requirements, operationally things seemed like they fell apart which increased turnover and ultimately made more work for the Talent Acquisition Team.

Environment is toxic! "Site supervisors" are responsible for managing 2-4 houses, scheduling, leave requests, ect. A lot of management and "site supervisors" cause a lot of drama very high school "popular" grouping. Management is poor no communication at all and the pay is not good for all that you do! Very under paid! Not a structured work place and communication lacks 

Worked as a DSP in a meaningful role supporting individuals with complex needs, but the job was often understaffed with aggressive and sometimes violent behaviors. Burnout was common due to high stress, inconsistent backup, and limited support during escalations. Leadership guidance and safety awareness were not always consistent, and staff were often left to manage difficult situations without clear direction.

The youth are amazing to work with every day. They're very well taken care of by competent, caring, loving, and nurturing staff members. Each individual works diligently to provide top quality care for these kids. You can tell the staff truly care about the youth they serve. Staff are supportive of one another. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not a good place to work lots of gossip that affects the work place. The admins only care about money. I’ve payed out of my own pocket for of the clients basic services without getting reimbursed. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No admin support . Just pure he said she said . If you aren’t the favorite prepare yourself

This is not a good place to work. The environment is extremely biased, unwelcoming, and lacks professionalism. Management behavior is inappropriate and discouraging. It is not an ideal workplace for people of color who are seeking fair treatment, respect, or opportunities for advancement.
