What is the best part of working at the company?
It used to be a good company. The new specialty programs have made new productivity standards impossible to hit. The regional is not clinical and does not understand therapists’ struggles with the daily grind. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Managing productivity standards while have 3 specialty programs to track. It’s unrealistic. We cannot use PRN now either, so we are setup for large caseloads with high activity that is not billable and then set to a high standard of productivity. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It used to be great. There have been changes now since PDPM and the value that therapists bring is in specialty programs that do not count toward productivity, but the productivity standard doesn’t waiver. We used to have “professional productivity” and the clinical regional was understanding of the therapists’ grind. Now, not so much. The VP says he doesn’t care about productivity, but then the regionals are rigid on the numbers while insisting on therapy track all falls and those prone to falls in the building and a respiratory program recently started where therapy is supposed to catch things nursing isn’t checking. This is supposed to save the company money by reducing return to acute, but for the therapy dept it is a burden that is difficult to balance with the new productivity.  They also have a company wide managed care ISNP program that was created and run by the COOs son (conflict of interest?). They promise all the therapy the patient wants, but therapy lets families down when they are only able to be treated 8 visits before requiring justification of services. I mean how much progress can a patient make with 8 visits? Not that much. That’s 1.5 weeks. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Chaotic with nursing not taking care of the residents. Therapy attempts to do the right thing and take care of the residents, but once again productivity standards are too rigid to do the right thing anymore.

Upper level management repeatedly told me that it was all about the money and not about the patients. As a physical therapist, this is NOT what you want to hear at a rehabilitation center. Truly did not care how much progress the patients were making. Very high pressure to have the patients do minimal actual rehab in order to meet unrealistic demands. My direct manager told me on multiple occasions that I was the best PT he has ever seen, but "its not good enough" and stated the demands were unrealistic. However, he quickly went back on these statements when his boss was present. It was a very sad place to work as a rehab professional. We go to work everyday to improve the independence of our patients, but this is very difficult when the higher ups don't have the same vision. They should be working in a different profession, not one that is affecting people's livelihoods at a place where they go to improve their functional independence. I would not recommend any rehab professional to work here.

This company couldn’t care less about you and it’s obvious in their hideous turn around rate. Every single facility is a swinging door and I almost always see job posting with crazy high ‘sign on bonuses’. (I wonder why..?)  Maybe you can actually keep good help for the long haul if you actually gave a flip. They have zero confidence in anyone’s work and they micro manage you to the point of insanity on a daily basis. Patient care is at the VERY bottom while making the most profit (good, moral intentions or not) is at the very tip top. I get that LTC/healthcare in general is a profitable business and sadly that’s just how it is now, BUT Jesus where is anyone’s heart in this place?! I haven’t met a single corporate manager/administrator that these people hire who has a single ounce of compassion for their employees or more importantly THE RESIDENTS. Where do they find these people?! I have never heard a single good thing about regency from former or even current employees. Stay far away if you can even though they are sadly taking over LTC facility’s in TX. I would never put a loved one in any facility owned by regency.

If you have any options do not work for this company. There is limited employee support and the company leadership cares more about the bottom line then the care provided to the staff. There are also plenty of other LTC companies in the area that will pay a higher wage for less complex work. The also do not care about staff who invest in the facility they serve and if you ask for support they will not assist and will force you to make a choice. They also force you to refer and work with their “sister” companies however they don’t invest in ensuring the sister companies provide adequate and comparable services to the area competitors.  If you resign regardless of the time you put in they show no appreciation. They do not care about their staff as evidence by the low pay rates, high turn over, lack of appreciation. If I could give no stars I would Management is impossible, and has no appreciation for any of their staff and all honesty if they have an opportunity to punish you they will regardless of how much you give to them. 

I have been with the organization for over 4 years and seen a wonderful, progressive change over these last two years, and excited to see what 2018 will bring!  
We have an experienced and dedicated Executive Management Team that leads by example, and works hard to develop a corporate culture to motivate staff and most importantly provide the best patient care in the state of Texas. 
We have implemented new systems, process, policies, and procedures across the company to better suit the needs of our employees and staff and residents at the facilities, and the improvements have been recognized! We have several Bronze level award winning facilities, plus numerous other with positive survey outcomes and overall improved State Survey results. We are committed to our residents and staff, and there is a Regency Difference in our culture, and truly this is a great place to work!

it's all about who you know. Your work will suffer because of constant clicks and constant reprimand. There will not be any praise unless you are part of a click and feed information to leaders or buy shoes, clothes etc. Very low mindset from manager and very disappointed. Working with families is the highlight of the role, if you have caring attitude. There is no team atmosphere , no culture, it's tic for tac and constant reprimand and who you know. Furry break loose if you are not part of “good club “and detest politics. sadly, they prefer to let good employees go instead of fixing their broken system for employee retention. Lots of lies and there is no job security. Look it up online yourself.  It's up to you as an individual to apply. If you like drama, constant backlash and prefer a high school mentality versus dealing with grown folks - good luck to you. 
Roles which are less likely to be replace are VP’s,  admin, BOM. Outside of the scope- once again good luck; it's all about politics and sociopathic manipulation. 


I worked at Regency for a few months. I was micromanaged and undermined every step of the way. My employees were great, but management was terrible. Many of the healthcare staff worried about being terminated week to week. the Help-desk ran as it could with the CIO constantly removing Help-desk personnel to do (Higher Priority) tasks, taking away the ability to handle help tickets in a timely manner. The work environment was unnecessarily stressful for the pay and location. there is no reason this company could not succeed, but with management feeling that for every employee there are 7 more waiting to become an employee, so they have no issues firing people on a regular basis. This company has a higher turnover rate than most fast food companies. The CIO constantly scares the employees into submission and curses and screams when items are missed or dropped. when he is not there things run easier.

Overall, my experience with this company was both positive and disappointing. The foresight to tackle issues and their ability to provide many in-house services were excellent. However,  I never felt confident that my team was accepted or valued. The lack of clear expectations, instructions, and accountability was disheartening. Transparency regarding the state of the business, departmental ROI, and suggestions for improvements was non-existent. 
Clear goals for success were not given, and created processes were not followed. Revisions to procedures were exercises in futility. As a leader, I was not offered a seat at the table to better understand the dynamics and business needs to build more effective services and products. Additionally, leadership allowed deviations to processes they approved without any corrective actions.       

What is the best part of working at the company?
I loved working with the elderly. Honestly, that was the only good thing about this job. I would not recommend working here to anyone. I would’ve given zero stars if it was an option.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management did not have teaching abilities or desires. They expect you to know your job without being properly trained.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment was good with a few profound exceptions.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I loved helping the elderly and the satisfaction of making a difference in their life was the reason for working.

Have had the opportunity to work at several of the buildings.  As most larger healthcare institutions there is no uniformity with all the buildings and expectations.  Some of the administrators and DONs have become so bonus oriented they have lost the bottom line why we all chose to work with patients/residents. Very sad because the patients/residents deserved to get top care regardless of building they are in.  Short staff is no excuse to not provide continuity of care.  When your concerns are expressed, they double down on retaliation.
