Like all jobs - they have their ups and downs. I can honestly say that this job makes you feel valued and they take the time to train you and pay you for training as well. They value their workers. I've been lucky that i've had very good management soo far. They've been very understanding and helpful. plus, if you want to grow and excel - they welcome that. you have a sense of purpose here because of what you do for the residents and they themselves appreciate you. I can't knock this job and the people I work with.. I've been lucky.. but I know a couple of others at different locations whom are also fairly happy with their job/ location. However, this job can be demanding at times and can take you away from your personal life etc.. I wish I had a better work / life balance, but I try to work my best around it. at least you can... Pay isn't bad, but due to inflation, the pay would not be too sustainable for the rising finances, taxes etc... you would need to pick up some overtime or most likely have a second job to help make up for struggling ends. but company has good benefits and they offer a couple of incentives.

I worked here as a rpi for a long time when I was younger and loved it. I made a return but at a different location. Working from 7am until unknown every day, days off were random. I Didn't have a set schedule, During my interview they said 8a-4p with 2 days off a week. My first month 55+ hours a week. I did not recieve proper training on each individual. I worked every major holiday. All staff were excellent but extremely burnt out. No organization, proper planning, everything was being run last minute with no set routine/structure,  I did not feel comfortable. I want to make it clear it was not rms fault, but the fault on the group home manager. I decided to take a different occupation/organization still in management now everything runs like a well oiled machine.

A typical work day consisted of caring for 6 DDS clients. Preparing their day for medical appoints, day program or recreational activities. I've learn you have to have and display a great deal of patience. Management was great if you were on a good team. The hardest part of the job was not taking behavioral outburst personal even when it was a personal character attack. Thwe most enjoyable aspect of this job was knowing I did all I could to give my clients the best possible life they could achieve.

Though it's difficult to leave a detailed review, as there are many individual group houses under RMS & your mileage may vary greatly between them, I've personally had an overall positive experience working with RMS. The management that I personally worked under was a pleasure & my experiences with corporate was rather sound. In my experience they do a good job at making sure that you get all of the official training that you'll need.
RMS is a good opportunity if you wish to advance yourself further in this field.
Again, an individual employee may have vastly different experiences between the various houses.

It’s a really great company. I don’t think it is any more stressful.. It’s all about your attitude.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy from star to finish. They day flys by.

I really love the individuals I provide services to.  It is a great company with a lot of benefits.  However, I don't believe they compensate Management employees adequately. It is very hard to be in a Management position and try to have a second job or go to school because of the on-call schedule.  Hence the reason I am looking to for a new job or a second job for supplemental income.

The property was older and needed a lot of attention management Saw to it that we got everything we needed to do the job

It was a great working atmosphere learn hard work but I had a lot of fun doing it

Expect no training if given a management position, it's learn as you go.

Individuals are wonderful to work with.

A few staff and co workers are helpful.



The pay is probably the lowest in the field. Ergo good staff never last. Mediocre hang on for years.

It is good place to work but for a manager on salary you struggle . plus it does not leave room for you to pick up another job . Not worth the time spent or money earned . Great support from upper management but a lot of long hours without the pay .
