Toxic work culture, terrible benefits, awful management. Executives enjoy stirring up unnecessary drama and watching others squirm. Favoritism is rampant, creating a strong divide among employees. Awful communication from the top down. Seriously, don’t waste your time here. Don’t be swayed by the swanky office and the free food; this company doesn’t have your back. They don't care about their employees and won't hesitate to replace you without warning. The turnover rate is insane; when I started, no one in my division had been with the company for longer than a couple of months. You've been warned.

I'm not sure how this company stays in business honestly. They spend a massive amount of effort bidding on very cheap video work that can't be bringing in much money. 

The in-house staff is remarkably incompetent. They would not last long at the more legitimate, functional places I've worked. 

Management claims to be supportive and then ditches you the moment you bring up any difficulties you're having. 

Unfortunately, like many places in media/marketing, they claim you'll be a FTE but it's really just permalance extended contract work. Extremely dishonest hiring practice. 

Despite some strong personalities in the C-Suite and office politics, I really enjoyed RUN Studios. Everyone I worked closely with was smart, capable, and hard-working. I could have been there for a long time. That was until I was unexpectedly laid off and the department I worked in was shut down. If you are a creative type, you'll do fantastic here. However, if you work in admin, you will not feel supported and you will be underappreciated for what you are trying to accomplish to keep the business running well. 

If you've worked in the industry before (or have ANY prior experience in the video/film industry), please avoid at all costs. The Company only cares about the sausage coming out of the machine, with little to no care how it's actually made. Billing submission is more important to the management team than the quality of the actual projects. You will be fighting an uphill battle with little to no trust on the creative side. Avoid at all costs.

Fast paced environment, constantly driven to exceed expectations.  Advancing technology keeps you learning constantly.  Management is scarce until something goes wrong. The hardest part of the job is the communication politics between management and vendors.  The most enjoyable part is all the advanced equipment you get to work with.

Just stay away.  They are a hot mess.  They dangle the "FTE" carrot over your head and really it's just 1099 and they pay 2/5ths of going rate in Seattle.  No one is there that was there 2 year ago so they go through people like hand sanitizer.  

They are much more interested in hiring young and attractive producers and coordinators that are beyond inexperienced.  

I have no idea how they are still in business...

A company is only as good as the behavior of your initial contact. If you're going to ghost a candidate who took the time to interview, at least have the courtesy to get back to them one way or the other. You could find yourself on the other side of the table one day. Think how you would want to be treated. Also consider the person you are interviewing might soon be in a position to hire your company.

RUN cares about their employees and the work. The pandemic has created different avenues of work - which are less creative, but overall the company is healthy and cares about the employees. Strong managers, fun activities, great co-workers. Many employees have been here for over five years which helps with continuity.

Minimal interaction with Run Studios directly as they contracted my work to another company. Run produces great videos and has generally nice and highly capable employees. They are the kind of company that tries to create a laid back/fun working environment.

As a subcontractor, I do not have any idea about the goings on in the office proper.  What I can say about RUN, though, is that its support for me while I am out on assignment is fantastic.  Run effectively relays a generalization of the work I am to accomplish, and prepares me to work confidently on the job.  When I am finished with the work, RUN is timely in receiving my invoices and returning my compensation.
