There is so much negative the only positive was the ability to help patients and the wonderful caring coworkers who made it bearable each day. There is no such thing as advancement unless you are somehow related to someone in upper management or become best friends with them. This company cleaned house from all upper management a couple years ago and the new management has unprofessional tendencies of playing favorites. It has been reviewed honestly and truthfully before but for some reason it has been deleted. You know there is a problem when the majority of your staff is on stress/sick leave. Depending on which location you work in be cautious every individual working at the older location has had similar health concerns of unexplained headaches, allergies, anxiety and upper respiratory symptoms which have always been brought up to management to the extent that employees had to make OSHA complaints for someone to actually hear them out and address the concerns. The turnover rate is high, now this is not in all departments but this is true for the majority. As far as compensation the pay has never been fair there is no such thing as bonuses, incentives or fair raises. The pandemic spoke volumes on how this company treated their employees the majority of the positions you will see they are hiring for are positions where the problems exist. They have NEVER been fully staffed and as long they have the people they have in charge they wont be. Which is sad to their current and future employees. They laid off just about every employee that was affected by any type of school/daycare closure during the covid outbreak under the false pretense that they will be contacting them back once they may be able to come back to work, which left the departments with the majority being employees with no dependents or older dependents (currently in the process of a discriminatory class action). They are now hiring through temp agencies to lowball the new hires as they are accustomed to do with all positions. Beware the manager comes off as sweet and caring. The CEO is just about clueless about the dissatisfaction of his employees and or the fact that the same patients he sees are his own employees or relatives of them.

I started at SAC Health in December and have overall, enjoyed the 4 day work weeks and have seen an improved quality to my work-life balance. I do, however, thing the company's policies are flawed. 

For starters, PTO/CA sick time can only be used in 30 min increments. Meaning you are forced to leave at either :00 or :30, so if you have to leave work at 3:32, you automatically have to use an extra .30 minutes of PTO that gets paid out to you. The payout part is not clarified in the handbook so I had to go to HR to clarify what happens to my extra PTO if it brings me over my 40 hrs. Terrible experience. 

They don't give you any kind of raise if you have a write up, bad attendance, or poor productivity. This can be highly controversial if your call outs are unforeseen/uncontrolled due to personal matters. This policy is extremely unnecessary and unfair. 

Also, I had called out due to an unexpected emergency my last week working here. I found out my CA sick time does not get paid out, and does not get exhausted due to "policy". My previous jobs allowed us to use sick time so this policy is nonsense. 

Also, remote work isn't advertised but is offered and is treated like a major privilege even though working remote should be normalized, especially for those who struggle in social settings. Have to have 60+ hours of PTO and high productivity to work remote.

The company literally promotes calling out if you're sick but I got threatened when I started that I could get written up because I didn't have PTO. Yet, they had a whole system where you needed to be cleared by compliance in order to come back. 

A ton of flawed and unclear policies. Also if you work T-F, get ready for no holiday pay even though its entirely advertised on the job site and in the employee handbook. Majority of the holidays this year land on a Monday. 

A typical day for involves handling a high volume of in-basket messages, prior authorizations, and patient inquiries with multiple staff working the same queues. This often leads to duplication, confusion, and lack of accountability, making the workflow feel inefficient and repetitive.

I learned how to manage a heavy workload and navigate systems independently, but training is minimal. There is no structured onboarding, and most employees are expected to figure things out on their own, sometimes with inconsistent guidance.

Management is largely absent, and support is limited. The workplace culture can feel uncomfortable at times, with noticeable cliques and a very quiet environment where open communication is limited.

Compensation is a major concern. The role expects a high level of experience (around 5 years) but pays under $35/hour for LVNs with no overtime pay after the 8th hour. In my opinion the low pay does not align with the workload and expectations.

The hardest part of the job is the lack of structure, unclear processes, and repetitive tasks that don’t always feel productive. The most enjoyable part is being behind a desk and doing indirect patient care.

Overall, turnover is high, and many employees do not stay long. Applicants should carefully evaluate whether the pay, training, and work environment meet their expectations before accepting a role here.

While I’m grateful for the experience, the lack of leadership and support in this department was unacceptable. Training was minimal to virtually nonexistent, and requests for help were met with pushback or silence, often because the supervisors didn’t know the answers themselves. They stayed behind closed doors, unapproachable, rude, dismissive, and quick to ignore hard work. Microaggressions and poor communication from leadership were constant and damaging.

I was thrown into complex responsibilities with little to no guidance and expected to perform at an olympic level in a matter of 2-3 months. The Message Center is poorly managed, structurally broken, and in urgent need of overhaul.  Most employees under perform and do the absolute bare minimum for patients.

Most concerning, repeated delays in patient care due to understaffing and unrealistic workloads made me fear for my license. Expecting one person to hold the responsibilities of a 2-3 person role is negligent, unsafe, and indicative of a department with no real direction or leadership. This is a serious liability waiting to explode. I am so grateful to have left. Avoid this place at all costs!

With working here, it started off as a small call center. We then expanded way too fast to keep up. The higher ups had no idea what they were doing. We never had enough staff to handle the call volume for certain departments, yet management never wanted to higher more employees. The pay for me was good because I was a lead, but that title didn’t really mean much. I was a lead but yet still did all the same work as a regular agent. There was nothing in my job title that made me any different than a regular agent. I guess that was fine because I got paid more, but I also felt wasn’t fair to other employees. My supervisors at the time were friends with their employees so if you had an issue with someone like I did, they wouldn’t take care of it because they didn’t want their friend to get in trouble. Management is constantly changing. I will say though there were some moments where you felt the company actually cared about you. Every meeting they had, they provided breakfast for everyone. For what you do in call center, I’d say the pay was decent. I would probably still be there if it wasn’t for my personal reasons to leave. 

Culture revolves around the so-called Chiefs. They award themselves fat paychecks while ignoring other staff.  COO, CIO, CNO, CFO and CCO are a joke. CIO loves to hear himself talk. Never stops talking.  COO does not know Operations.  CNO does not have management experience. CCO - Compliance surrounds herself with sycophants.  CFO manages the finance as though he's managing a mom-and-pop shop. Chief of Nursing, the most arrogant and totally incapable of managing. Except for Chiefs, nobody else gets decent pay. They take pride in flaunting their non-existent talents, and suppress the talent, while taking credit for their subordinates work.  They had one of the worst Chief's of HR but she was let go. We all thought things would get better, but realized quickly that it's just a pipe dream and nothing is going to change.  They talk heavily about work-life-balance. But, this only applies to the Chief's. They make everybody else work very hard, so the Chief's can achieve their work-life-balance.  There is a 4/10 schedule, but expect every staff (except Chief's) to work practically every day, including weekends.

Avoid this job at all costs. The work environment is very toxic, chaotic, and demoralizing. Supervisors constantly micromanage without offering any real guidance or support, and most of them lack even basic leadership or clinical knowledge. Training is virtually nonexistent and you’re left to fend for yourself while management pretends everything is fine. The culture is riddled with arrogance, gossip, and hostility, making teamwork nearly impossible.

Expect to be overwhelmed with nonstop calls, messages, and unrealistic expectations while being denied proper breaks or resources. Patient care violations are a regular occurrence, creating major safety and compliance risks that could easily jeopardize your nursing license. This is why I left. This place will drain all your energy, destroy your morale, and make you question your career. It’s not worth your mental health or professional integrity. Please avoid this place. 

Too much favoritism going on in this place. Most people act like they ate still in high school. People not willing to help each other unless they are buddy buddy. Assignments not divided fairly. Too much dumping on certain staff. People can complain and end up recieving exactly what they want...less work. Zero stability, constant changes all the darn time. Just when someone is in place and starting to work, then again more changes to throw staff off. Most residents are awesome and willing to learn from staff around them. Management was a joke, clearly did not know how to even work the floor or wasn't helpful with dealing with patients. My call center people were awesome! Always going above and beyond, made me feel like there are more people that are trying their best. This place has great benefits, but the favoritism was just too much to handle, especially when treated like you are the only one things get dumped on. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
My supervisor and lead team were AMAZING! So helpful and empathetic. The Pediatrics team were great! It's just frustrating not having enough appointments to accommodate the needs of the families. Very annoying that people refuse to cancel or reschedule on line or by phone to allow others in need to have their appointment that they won't be attending. But I loved helping our families and providing resources that SAC has to offer. Just wish the pay was more.

I had really high hopes when I initially started at SACHS, however when the higher ups left, things changed drastically.

The company no longer seems to care about it's employees. In order to advance from a position you must first secure another position first by having a friend in a management. I don't feel they value work ethic or quality of work, it's all about who you know. They do not pay competitively and if you ask for a raise they deem you easily replaceable. Also HR is aware of all of this and they do not get involved.

Management needs a lot of work, they do bare minimum yet receive the most compensation.They are accommodating to people who do not have good work values and over work their best employees. Save yourself the trouble and find employment elsewhere.
