Saban Community Clinic

At Saban Clinic work was fun and at times crowded with patients.
The management tried not to turn anyone away. They had doctors and dentists and even a social worker who helped the homeless with showering or providing them clothes. These qualities of helping people I really admire and was happy to be a part of it.
Co-workers very respectful and helping patients and answering the phone which never stopped ringing, and very patient to explain to me as a new person there what I had to do with pulling patient's charts, creating a  medical wrist band with patient information on it and send them to the correct Doctor or dentist rooms.
Schedules very busy but enough to allow workers to have their lunch and coffee break.
I learned a lot with the computer, checking Medi-cal eligibility for example and the management was very patient and pleasant.
The hardest part was when a lot of sick patients showed up as walk in and expected to be seen but there where at times not enough doctors there to accommodate them and we send them to the other Saban clinic at Hollywood or Melrose locations or ultimately to the County hospital which was really upsetting for them and frustrating for us.

A tyical day at work consist of serving the underserved and catering to the needs of the employees, enforcing rules and regulations at the same time creating a warm welcoming comfortable work environment. My co-workers are very supportive and we all play well as a team. The things i've learned are limitless, I attended various seminars and conferences which aided me in keeping up with constant changes in employement, leave of absences and payroll laws. The most challenging part of my job was the lack of communication from managers pertaining to their employee changes, I would often be left to scramble for answers that should have been communicated to the Human Resources Dept. What i lked most about my job were the people I worked with and my manager, she was knowledgeble in the field of Human Resource and I learned so much from her, I also enjoyed working with and getting to know the patients and the lives they live It was a very rewarding job.

The Dental Dept has extremely poor management.  And it all starts with the "Director of the Dental Dept" extremely unprofessional, poor people person,  lacks leadership, and does not lead by example. And the Dentistry that is provided by her is at a student level. Taking up to 2 hrs per patient while making others wait a ridiculous amount of time in the dental chair. To the point were many would walk out and leave. And she would get upset at her staff for not stopping the patient from leaving.  And the supervisors is were everything continues after the "Director" some refuse to help the back office  staff while the other declines to speak to upset patients and leaves through the back door. Another thing is favoritism, favoritism here is STRONG.  And I'm sure everyone has experienced favoritism at one point but not like this place. And if your not their favorite its really hard to exceed. You can't even submit a complaint because RETALIATION is another thing they're good at specially the "Director"..  If you managed to read this far. Listen to my advice and STAY FAR AWAY from this place.

The worst part about saban is the leadership team in the medical department. I have never been in a more disorganized, unprofessional, and chaotic work setting in my life.

The leadership team could care less about their employees and only sees them as disposable and easily replaceable. 

The chief and directors only care about keeping their doctors happy and if you aren’t a doctor than good luck because they will just ignore any issues or concerns you have. 

My advise to anyone reading this, especially if you’re medical, is to steer clear. 

They will overwork you and give you an unreasonable amount of responsibilities and even when you tell them you need help they’ll just continue to add more and more. 

The pay at this job is a joke compared to the level of expectations they have of you. 

Everyone at this job will tell you how much they hate it and how uncomfortable the leadership team makes them feel. 

This job is the definition of a toxic work environment. Not worth it at all. 

Evey day was busy. Its a community clinic for infants, children, adults, seniors, and the homeless. This is a walk in clinic therefore there was always problems with the patients due to the wait time. I learned many programs and how to maintain myself calm when there is an angry patient. My co-workers ofcourse had good and bad days like anyone else. They were easy to get along with, very friendly people. I believe the hardest part of the job was telling a patient we were not going to be able to see them. It was really hard because some of these patients are waiting outside the doors since 6am to try to get seen, sometimes they would wait until 8pm when we closed and would not be seen. The most enjoyable part of the job was helping someone and seeing them come out of their appointment with a smile and thanking me for helping them.

Starting off was an amazing experience, but throught out the years and with all the changes from a free clinic to FQHC everything became a bit more challanging. Patients are amazing although 80% only spoke spanish working there is granted for experience, however, staff have become more overly stressed out and unprofessional, usually lacking in customer service and more worried about the latest gossip within one another. Management always tries to rule with an iron fist, preventing you from taking vacations if already requested 2 weeks in advance due to uncertanty of coverage by providers, management praises those who have the worst customer service or the lazy workers rather than the hard working ones. The company abides by working harder than thinking smarter.

I have worked with Saban for a few years now, and continue to be well supported in my role. I truly appreciate the support I receive from my colleagues, many of whom go out of their way to say a kind word to their co-workers. The patient facing team do face more challenges than those of us in more administrative roles, but so many of them have such a clear heart for this work. The team really does try to help the most vulnerable people in our community.  Internally,  I am particularly impressed with Saban having so many women, including women of color, in prominent leadership roles.  While there are things to improve upon and processes to change, I can honestly say that I'm proud to work here. 

My typical day consists of printing out morning, afternoon, and even schedules for our different departments.  Once it hits 7:30, our double doors are open for business.  We except walk-ins from 7:30am-7pm for both medical and dental services. My job consists of me pre-sceening the patients to see the exact reason for service to the appropriate doctor or nurse practitioner.  We also assist homeless patients with a shower program, and have a case manager on site to help with any extra assistance.  When in need of a farsi interpreter i then assist with translation.  I have been with the company for over 2years, and I can honestly say i have loved each and every moment of it. I started as a temp and as soon as my assignment was done they INSTANTLY hired me.

Triage, prioritize and resolve incoming incidents & service requests tickets and building the knowledge base through submission of knoweldge articles.
Perform hardware imaging and equipment deployment coordination, including with Cost Optimization group, Verian input, lease pickup process, and coordination with end-users.
Performs software installs as part of troubleshooting/problem resolution, as well as the lease/replacement hardware build process.
Performs basic hardware, software, network troubleshooting of moderate scope and complexity.
Answers incoming support phone calls from customers.
Responsible for local office move logistics (physically moving the equipment, setup, etc.).
Allocation breakdown may fluctuate due to business demands.

In the beginning I loved working at Saban. It offered me such a great opportunity to learn so much through direct and regular contact with clinicians, nurses, therapists and patients of such varied backgrounds and needs. But during my time there so many changes were implemented without providing appropriate support. The employee turn around was insane! The original culture of patients' needs being the primary focus gave way to new rules and regulations geared at increasing revenue but only resulted in empty waiting rooms...
