I enjoyed working on the enterprise product. People were great, good team work, and some complex problems. Supporting a legacy product has its drawbacks, older tech stack, tech debt and complex system to refactor or transform but that is challenging and satisfying in its own way. But it’s not necessarily nimble and quick release delivery. 

Overall it was one of the best work experiences of my career (over 15 years at several companies)  

The only downside was that as a 10 year old company there was an established pecking order if you will and people with deep relationships, which sometimes made newcomers feel like outsiders with voices not easily heard. 

I joined SailPoint a few years ago and have experienced it's excellent culture and growth first hand. 

It's not perfect and while I say that, I believe no company is. My peers and I have all been able to have meaningful and progressive careers here. 

With growth comes growing pains, but the management teams take feedback seriously and genuinely make an effort to take action.

Team trainings, outings, and friendly competitions. Very collaborative environment. No micromanaging, just an open door policy for everyone (upper management included).


Like any sales job, expect rejection. However, it is up to you on how you want to handle that rejection. On to the next one, or let it bug for 1 too many minutes. This is the same at most organizations so nothing out of the ordinary here.

SailPoint once had a collaborative, customer-focused culture where teams trusted each other and worked toward shared success. Since recent leadership changes, the environment feels more corporate and metrics-driven, with growing pressure on everyone to sell rather than deliver customer value. The focus on reports and internal checkboxes has replaced the sense of teamwork that used to make the company special.

Learned about enterprise software architecture.  Java Spring application framework.
Positive work environment with a whole team behind you helping you be successful.
Learned about key enterprise software technologies like Windows and Linux OSes, Active Directory, LDAP applications, Relational databases, and more industry niche technologies like Epic (EMR application).

The people make the difference in any organization and everyone you work with at SailPoint is very professional and great at what they do.  The products and company have a great future ahead!

Good products and solid senior management.  Culture seemed strange at times.  Very little career advancement opportunities.  Middle management was also concern.

People  are leaving because management believes it has all the answers the company needs and will not consider their employees expertise. Sales is all that matters, even at the expense of ethics, compliance, and legality.

Positive management, motivated work culture, friendly. The work was well-organized and focused. Teams collaborated well and shared a good regard for each other.

Company is a mess internally.
Extremely siloed.
Don't dare show initiative on the job, because you'll be reprimanded.
Poor benefits.
Low salaries.
Unlimited vacation, but good luck taking it.
