Your typical day consists of signing into 8 different applications. Sorting incoming mail within an app, receiving incoming calls, providing on the spot solutions, and meticulously notating the logs into client's profiles. There is an ongoing pressure to meet quotas for both calls and mail sorting, while ensuring that all your after-call work and follow up notes are complete, while also keeping pace with the relentless stream of emails being received.

Cons.
The challenges inherent in this job are substantial and can feel overwhelming. The biggest issue is the lack of clear communication between the billing office and the centers you're doing billing for. As a result, you are often the bearer of bad news to clients who were misinformed about their costs. The centers would sometimes provide clients with inaccurate information. This led to bills being in sums sometimes exceeding thousands of dollars instead of hundred. To compound matters, you can't offer any real help like financial hardship applications. You're limited to only offering a payment plan, which was normally unaffordable. Asking for a lesser payment amount from a supervisor was usually unfruitful and at times would garner laughs and mockery.

Further frustrations regarding misinformation. Credits on accounts would be withheld until therapy completion. This was a frequent source of outrage, and lead to long and tense phone calls.

An additional ongoing complication is a significant billing delay, some bills not going out for over a year. Clients paid their bills believing that they were paid in full, and are later met with unexpected balances. Efforts to escalate these concerns to management are often met with dismissiveness, encouraging you to to push the client off to someone else to deal with.

The day to day office environment is highly monitored, with constant oversight from supervisors, leads, and even other coworkers. Spending an extra couple of minutes taking a bathroom break or a saying hello to someone, is noticed and passed along to managers. Any deviation from strictly sitting at your desk working triggers emails to 'let everyone know' that you can't take ''too much time in the bathroom" or "you all have things you should be doing at your desk". Mistakes, no matter how small, are documented and shared with managers. Often in a way that feels subtly petty.

Sending an account to be audited is an intricate, convoluted ten step vetting process, which is needlessly complicated and very frustrating. Policies and procedures are inconsistent and frequently updated via email. Most of these updates rarely make it into training material. Training itself occurs during live calls, leaving a significant gap in preparation. When asking questions to seek clarification, you're often met with irritation and snappy answers rather than a guiding push in the right direction. This lack of support and structure means employees are often left to relearn procedures based on conflicting information from multiple sources.

Pros.
One benefit is the flexibility to rearrange your schedule, but you still must meet the requirement of 40 hours per week. For those who stay in the face of high staff turnover, there are opportunities to transition to other departments to further your career.

I have worked in the Cash department for 3 years. Started at 11 an hour, now making 11.40 after 3 pitiful years.

One nice thing about working as a Cash Application Rep, is the flex schedule. You can work half an hour extra Monday through Thursday to leave 2 hours early on Friday. The health benefits are decent. They will start your pay at 11 an hour. This is not a call center, you sit in a cubicle and just do your work with little to no supervision. Co-workers are great, and some I can call my good friends.

The entire department has to work together as a team to reach month end goals, and all transactions HAVE to be posted. So you could end up staying later on the month end dates just to get everything posted. The latest the department has had to stay is 2am. You get paid 11 dollars an hour and are expected to pump out the work and stay until 2 am. 

Make sure you are working, god forbid you say good morning to someone or the management team will scold you. If one person from the management team has a biased against you, it's all over. They will huddle up and protect each other. You could be the hardest working employee in the department, but you will get no where if you are just seen reading a text - even though they are flexible with phones, you are allowed to listen to music or check it here and there - but if they catch you doing something they say you are allowed to do, it's over. 

There is no promotions, and the manager will make sure you never get promoted into a different department. I have seen 4 people get hired and each one will quit before one actually stays. There are supposed to be different levels, but you will never become a level 2. They pretend like it doesn't exist. Only the most favorable person will get the chance to see that promotion. They have favorites and most of the time the person who is a favorite is terrible at their job, or doesn't deserve it over all. They don't reward hard work. They just expect you to pump out the work like a robot with no reward. I have also seen someone just come out of their 90 days and get promoted, while long time, hard working employees get nothing for their hard work.

HR has looked into this department many times, but the manager always gets to choose who they talk to, so of course the manager picks the star pupils. HR needs to talk to every single person, give them a paper and let them write down what is wrong with this department.

Do not ever work at this company. They micromanage, the pay sucks, there is very little to a raise, the management is TERRIBLE and they have no idea what is going on.

I’m not sure where to begin with this, as this has been the worst job i’ve ever had. I worked in the CBO for over a year, being offered the position - told I would have nothing but room for growth and could move up in the company, which was an absolute lie. The management here tells you what you want to hear in order to get you in and keep you stuck in the same dead end job. I had tried twice to move up in the company and my supervisor did anything she could to stop that from happening, as I witnessed her doing with every employee - 9/10 resulting in leaving the company entirely.  In my time there, there were over 20 people who came and left. Mind you, this is the lowest pay rate for Medical Records Representatives and they try to make you do so many projects on top what you already have to do which is meeting impossible numbers. On top of that, I have never experienced just horrible and manipulative management until working here. They are more focused on the drama and spreading gossip than the actual task at hand. Our supervisor would pull us from our work just to find out gossip about other coworkers and fears of an HR letter being written in regards to her very poor management skills and bullying. I had made several complaints and even brought in HR as a final attempt, which backfired on me. As soon as I did that, i was ostracized and told by my leads that our manager and supervisor were doing anything they could to try and find a way to fire me, the second ranked invoicer with no write ups or poor attendance.  At this point, i chose to cut my losses and walk away from this company as it was unbearable gong into work everyday dealing with the glares and whispers from my management. I have never been terminated from a company and i refused to have that on my resume just because i had called out my supervisor on all of her MANY lies.

a typical day at Select begins in the parking lot with employees walking through the parking lot with their shoulders drooping and frowns on their faces.  Next you walk into a break room with a huge executive table taking up the majority of the room.  You must try to get through the nurses and other employees just to be able to get to the time clock which is located in the back of this overcrowded room.  Assignment sheets for nurses are found in this room and even though acquity is counted it isn’t split evenly between the nurses.  I have been told that the respiratory therapists are given assignments in which acquity is not even counted!  They are a vital part of taking care of most all of the patients here and are treated with absolutely no respect from anyone in the facility?  They are given assignments only on airway count.  It doesn’t matter that the may have ventilators, bipap machines, home equipment, breathing treatments, airway management etc.  There is sometimes only one respiratory therapist for the 60 bed hospital.  At any given moment there could be an emergency involving a code blue or airway occlusion and only one RT to care for the entire facility!  Very unsafe for the patients and very unfair to the therapist.  The facility is filthy!  Floors are dirty, walls are dirty, equipment is subpar.  Air vents are covered in soiled dust that has been accumulating for months, if not years.  These things are brought to the attention of management on a regular basis but nothing is ever done.  There are employees who help keep the morale high .  There are employees who will help other employees even if they themselves are behind on their own work because they believe in teamwork.

It's a typical medical office work day, patient intake, answer phones, schedule patients, take copays, verify insurance, and get authorizations, faxing, inputting paperwork and preparing patient charts.

I learned a lot about insurances 

Upper management leaves a lot to be desired. There is favoritism and it shows. Most Center Managers if you get in the right clinic can be amazing and if you stay within your clinic and don't "gossip". Upper management needs to pay more attention to the details of the centers and what really happens and goes on. (Again favoritism). Too many changes and not for the good have changed the way the company use to be. It used to be that everyone was there for each other. Since the changes it is very cut throat and a lot of back stabbing not being able to trust a lot of people. A lack of communication is another big down fall. Upper management communicates about your center with other centers and not yours and then you have no idea what is happening. 

Also there is a lack of training for new hires. They don't train you properly and you are just "thrown in". There is no room for advancement either.

Not to mention the low pay scale. You can't live on what they pay and you don't get raises or bonuses. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is the patients! It is rewarding to see them improve. If you get in with a good clinic and a good center manager the job can be extremely stratifying and rewarding if you don't mind the low pay rate and no raises.

2) appreciation for quality patient service - LOW 
3)Too many company emails involving non essential information - this to promote a sense of community , but it’s stressful because our daily work is demanding and there’s not time to get through the emails 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Each clinic is different 
1) very high volume , managers are snarky, you feel like an idiot to ask questions ( I was new hire this year) 
2 ) quiet , low key , manager very friendly , helpful 
3)culture : promotes community events , charity activities , but offers no paid time off to participate 


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My clinic is very busy . Most hours are double booked appointments. 
Upper management seems to think it’s easy to talk with patients  who cancel to understand why  they aren’t attending  but usually we’re busy treating another patients. 
Very diverse patient population with regards to diagnosis and culture. 
This clinic can get crowded, most  patients are moderately complex and require at least Stand by assistance. 
Manuals  can be difficult to perform . Rare to be able to finish Point of service Documentation . 
On a positive note ALL the Therapist are highly qualified and sincerely caring .

Typical day is a long 12 hour shift starting at 7am working with acute- critical care patients in a hospital setting. Measuring and charting vital signs: temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure if needed. Measuring and recording weight. Assisting with ambulation and range of motion exercises. Assisting with routine bowel and bladder care. Keeping track of fluid intake and output. Providing personal care and assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming and feeding. Observing and reporting any changes in health or mental status immediately. Keeping patients comfortable, assessing and reporting any signs of pain. Providing emotional support to patients and their families. Assisting with transfers and ambulation to and from bed, the bathroom and other locations. Using safety devices and infection control precautions to prevent injury and the spread of germs. Initiating life saving measures, such as CPR, if needed. Evacuating residents in an emergency, according to fire and evacuation policies. Feeding patients who cannot feed themselves. Documenting food and fluid intake. Escorting discharged patients to their vehicle. Delivering supplies, specimens and blood. Setting up new admission rooms and tearing down discharge rooms. 

The CNA's, RN's, RT's, And PT's all work together as a team. Which is really helpful when the work load is heavy.

The company or  shall I say the people that they have and the supervisor in Lead positions are very judge mental they sell you on the support of getting help the importance of asking questions how they’re always available to help however that is not the truth they tell you to give yourself six months to learn all the denials and different things of that nature however they’re judging you right from when you’re in training they give you accounts already and training to work on if you are not working to their ability to their knowledge or as fast as they think that you should be working or getting the information then they don’t want you .I was judged  based upon asking questions if I’m still in training that is my time to ask questions however I was judge based upon asking questions they took it as me not understanding however if they knew the type of questions that would know that most of the time I already had the answer And they employ based upon recruiters just so that people do not have to come on indeed to see all the horrible reviews I like the position I like the job but that definitely was not a place for me if they’re willing to get rid of  nice hardworking people based upon how they want you to learn so company and management was not good component for me.


I have been working here a little while to say that the management team does not care about you and you are just a number for someone getting hired to be a part of the healthcare team. All the company cares about are the numbers for how many new injured patients they can get in and make money off of. They literally do not care about teaching you how to do your job; they make you learn that on your own. If you ask for help, there are times where they are willing to show you, and there are times where they will never answer back and have you figure it out yourself by asking other colleagues on how to solve the problem. You will be asked to work on other projects that aren't listed in your job description for your position. If you try to move up within the company, they will never follow through or follow-up with you about scheduling an interview (I have already tried, to say the least). This company lacks communication on all levels. The amount of work given is draining, especially during the pandemic. Sometimes management can be really nice on some days, and then other days, they can be super moody. It just really depends. If you want to get your foot in the door to work in healthcare, this place is not it. I would suggest applying elsewhere.

Overall select is not a bad job as a nurse. The patient load is about 6-8 depending on if you are working dayshift or night shift.  Current DON doesn't seem to know her job or have had previous floor nursing experience. HR never returns your calls, emails, or text.  Worst HR that I have ever had at a company.  At shift change dayshift nurses are constantly late to relieve you and nothing is ever done so this continues. They are at times over 30 min late.  And after working a night shift you are ready to leave when its shift change.  Medical benefits are good.  Pay is good.  Get to use a lot of nursing skills while working here. CNA's are good and take care of their patients and help answer call lights.  They have a lot of brand new nurses that are working there and they have become lazy in their job.  The schedule is pretty flexible.  Dayshift supervisor is constantly late to work, Nightshift supervisor is clueless. They can use some changes in the company as the overall morale has become poor.  No one seems to take pride in their work and they are just there for a pay check.
