I've been working for Serene for a few years now and i can say that as a college student, looking to start my career, this was a great springboard. Serene not only offers a transition program from school to work force but the staff is a tremendous help. The office environment is inviting and friendly! Management really wants you to succeed and the culture is professional, with a very home-y type vibe. The hardest part of the job was learning the health care industry but this has nothing to do with Serene , it has everything to do with the churning health care environment. The most enjoyable part of my Job is that we occasionally do team building outings, and we are paid weekly.

I have been with the company for 4 years. The owner of the company is like a second mother. She has taken me under her wing and helped me follow my dreams of become an RN. The work space is more of a home to me and the staff are my extended family. I am more relaxed here then I am anywhere else ... that’s probably why I work here 6 days a week. We have many laughs, share lots of food, and push through together! We are a team and a family and we proudly serve the disabled population of Long Island and queens county.

Not at all what I expected. I understand a company has it's bottom line of making a profit. I just couldn't accept profit coming at the expense of a client's well being. Not an easy job to have a patient's family upset with no staffing, when the issue was not an available aide, just the unwillingness to pay OT.  I was embarrassed to have to answer to these calls from patient's and family members at wits end. My suggestion is to make sure managers start returning phone calls. It's called CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Will not pay time in a half ,if u are a caregiver  you are expected to  do dishes clean bathrooms and activities . You are expected to work alone 1 peraon sometimes  with no nurse even though  there is 1 resident that is a 2 person assist. You are left on weekends by yourself with no one in the building having to stay in 1 room for 12 hours not being able to leave the residents for lunch or break .

What is the best part of working at the company?
None very prejudice if you like taking blame and playing games it’s for you

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When you try to get an appropriate answer and no one can answer. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
If your not family or a family friend you are out 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very difficult to get any straight answers and assistance without judgement

Not very honest. They do not go physically to access a case before assigning an aide. So mostly some important details given are false. For example, you can be told a client ambulates when they are totally bed- bound. Second example, a female aide can be told she will have her own room only to get there and sleep in the living room on a poor mattress despite the fact that the client is a male. So basically there is no privacy for the female aide.

Excellent agency. Always have work available,  they pay overtime which boost your paycheck in the thousands.   It’s worth it,      They even train you do this is perfect for new nurses.     

In my opinion anyone who says the pay is low is s fraud, that is fraudulent statements and big paycheck comes with hard work.  Im a current employee that works 80 a week.     So yeah.

The staff at Serene Home Nursing Agency has been extremely optimistic, as well as efficient ever since I started working there. My overall experience at Serene is excellent, due to the overall positive outlook of the staff and the overall efficiency and determination throughout the work environment.

The staff is great. Flexible work hrs. Diffrent pay per hour depending on case.All skill level cases available. Offeres 401k, pretax savings, sick pay, and (medical insurance if you work 30+ hrs a week).
The cons
Doesn't give paid vacation time.
Managment leaves to early. No weekend managment. On call personal don't always call back in a timely manner. 



I've been currently working for Serene Home Nursing Agency now for 4 years. I have watched and participated in the growth of our company and am very excited to be a part of this team that continues to grow day by day. Great co-workers/friends, teamwork, flexibility, close to home and the BEST Boss ever! I cant think of anything that is not great about working here :)
