Overall assessment: this is a decent company to work for. 30-40 employees, shared bonus, casual dress code, and challenging problems to solve in custom automation. No project is repetitive, every project is different with new challenges.

Unique about this company: 
Open book financial system, wish every business did this. This means you can see how much money the company is making and how well each project is doing or not doing.

Hardest part of the job is interacting with management.  No reviews,  no feedback on performance, just guesses. Nobody has a specific job description, just wear a hat and hope it's the right one. If there is a gap in work somewhere, you're not sure who was supposed to fill it., was it you? No steady workload, which translates into a company that will hire you then lay you off when work slows again.  You live on eggshells here.

Best part of the job, weekly breakfasts, summer bbq, and monthly bonuses assuming company financials are in the black and there is still a market for expensive custom automation.

It was a great place to work. They took away the quality of work and replaced it with quantity of products . I am a man about quality above quantity. We assembled automated machinery and roller coasters for universal studios and Disney . Most enjoyable part of the job was working with the mechanical assemblers on the floor. Building a quality piece of equipment when delivered to the customer. I also worked wit pneumatics , hydraulics, and sensors etc. I travel to different states to reassemble equipment when when shipped to customers facility. I was part of factory acceptance test at our facility for the customers. I was also part of sight acceptance at customers facility.  I learned a lot working at this company. I meet a lot of great people and customers. I was also allowed to work alongside of shipping and receiving to ship a lot of products overseas to customers .  


The environment was laid back and attire was casual (to help you feel most comfortable). I checked in with all the engineers to see where they were in their design process and make sure that their preliminary stages were completed and gathered by a given date and time. From this I learned organization, communication, and  collaboration. The hardest part of the job was gathering all the drawings and information and demanding them from engineers who are at higher positions and older than me. Most enjoyable part of the job was learning about rollercoaster design engineering and seeing the processes that they go through as well as learning more about the use of CAD and AutoCAD.

A sound company with a desire to constantly improve and grow.  They have drive to cultivate quality work and training. I am a IBEW "traveller" to the area and hired on to help with the largest job they have had to date for a government contract. I take a lot of pride in my work and maintain focus on my job at hand, currently pipe work and instrumentation installations.  The management team has been very supportive to let me strive to be efficient, safe and above all, do quality work.  Their core guys I've work along side with are knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.

As compared with other companies, this one is heads above.  The culture is a little too "in your face" at all times, but manageable.  Liked most of the coworkers.  Management Okay, but mostly too critical of your performance and HIGHLY DEFENSIVE of theirs.  Need to provide company vehicle sooner than they do.  Left due to sudden layoff of several employees.  Owner is actually TOO involved.

was told I'd Eventually get hired on full time if I learned how to build all the parts for the machines we were building. I did but they lost the contract. and i was laid off.

I worked there as long as I could. The shop supervisor is a racist. The management is terrible. They have the buddy system here. I am supprised they are still in business they are always late and rip off the customers.

Good working environment. Company employee owned focused. Times of very long hours, contract driven. I would wok there again. One draw back is the lay offs due to little work. 
Nice people. Time sensitive deadlines.

There are tons of chances for learning at Setpoint. Note that if you are looking for an Engineering position, the engineering work is more CAD tech with technical knowledge than actual engineering.

I can't say enough good things about Sepoint Systems. From top down every know is experts in there field. I learned so much from the group unfortunately for me It just wasn't soon enough.
