Worked for this company for over 10+ years. Pay is ok, but management is completely dictatorship! No open mind, decisions are made with no employee input even if it effects patients or not. Renovation where recently made, and walls are paper thin- it was brought up to management and completely blown off. HR is NOT a neutral party, Managers are very degrading with no mannerism to talk to employees. Leadership PREACHES about how staff should be friendly, approachable, yet they walk past with no regard to their employees,,, oh wait only when showing off clinic to big wigs. CEO had no clue about what goes on with her employees as managers edit employee concerns into merely nothings. Raised decrease every year, but more work is always added on. MA trainers are a hit or miss, one of them sat literally all day while trainees did all her work, yet she is ALWAYS praised because she is good friend with the supervisors. Trainer is often late, or braiding someone's hair while you do her work. MA supervisors plan parties and wave to staff while they frivolously work 1 to1, instead of being team players and jumping in to help. You ask why I stayed 10 years, because it was always my pleasure helping my community, they kept me alive- seen our people get the help I could give. When I started 10 years ago, it was such a family oriented place, everyone helped each other, now they've lost quality over quantity and how much they can make off you. 

In my opinion, They say that action speaks louder than words. They do not follow their Mission Statement. It's a revolving door of people coming in and leaving in short order, that says something. HR management is vindictive. When management decides that there is no value left in your position, they eliminate you. I truly did enjoy my job, and the people that I worked with. The healthcare centers handling of money and dealing with donors was atrocious, and I would imagine that it still is. Management doesn't take responsibility for it either. Incessant micromanagement with everyone else other than medical.

Working here was the biggest disappointment of my career. The work experience for providers vs the rest of the organization is dramatic. Specifically, unless you are a doctor or nurse, they don't care about you.  In the year I worked there, good employees left the organization in droves because of bad management and poor working conditions. When positions were left vacant, the response was to keep piling work on those remaining without any regard for their well-being. Leadership is well-meaning but doesn't want to listen to criticism or make meaningful changes. Overall, the work environment is not supportive or conducive to growth.

I would diverse and big community where everyone knows everyone

Answering phones, making copies, giving benefits, assisting new participants

Building a solid team of staff .

The bad out of date, unresponsive HR system and the lack of support from leadership, specifically the CEO.

Bad, very siloed and click oriented

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
No structure!

On a typical day, I see 8-12 patients - very reasonable workload. Love my coworkers. Culture here is very mission-driven, patient-centered. Pay is not as good but it is community health so to be expected. Management is o.k. Some really good people but slow to change or implement new processes - pretty typical of healthcare and not just this company.

Management doesn’t care for the people. They are disrespectful to employees. The only way you move up in this company is if you kiss up to the right people. When you bring concerns about management and how disrespectful they are nothing is done. Everyone spends so much time talking about each other instead of focusing on work. Definitely a lot of favoritism.

I love working at Sixteenth Street.  I grew up here on the near Southside and I have seen how the community has changed over the years and have proudly watched Sixteenth Streets continuous growth in response to these changes.  I see on a daily basis how it makes a difference in the community we serve.

I wouldn't recommend working here pay is sub par management is poor there is no flexibility in hours and there is no PTO or sick days for 6 months which is hard on employees because these places are covered in germs and these areas are poorly cleaned
