This employer relies on travelers for all their paramedical personnel.
Three quarters of their staff is  travelers, and the rest are employees. The laboratory is the place where they eat, gossip, and their sweat shop. 

Any ideas of how to improve procedures are unwelcome. Even when they know that some of their practices are inaccurate, they insist in continuing with the bad work. There is nothing else than matters other than releasing results on time, even if they are meaningless and do not reflect the patient status.

Instrumentation that does not work is used on a regular basis. This is the only place where you change a lot, and you do not run quality control. The only time they run QC is at night, and if they are validating a new lot. Even after mayor maintenance, and instrument parts changed, they do not run quality control. When you inquire about it, their response is we have never been cited by CLIA for this!!!!

They lure you with a sign up bonus, and then, if you question their practices, they fire you, and take the bonus back directly out of your last paycheck. The clinical laboratory is a joke. The procedures have not been updated, they ignore the manufacturer's SOP's and recommendations.

The supervisors discredit even the pathologists that work there. Such is the case with the hematopathologist. I can understand why you never see them and they are nowhere available for consultation.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The on-campus activities offered throughout the week i.e. Free stretch sessions, Cookies with Santa, Maintain Don't Gain, etc... even though you won't get to participate in some things because you are actively working.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
workload can be more than your stress level will allow you to mentally and physically handle, without the appropriate wages to match. It gets old and makes it hard to enjoy doing your job when you over worked and underpaid.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Safe and cordial. being cordial but to yourself will make your work experience a pleasant one.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
stressful especially if you're in constant contact with patients all day which 90% of positions are. 
being a scheduler/registrar is basically like working in a call center environment. Management tries to track your every move; you can never just take a breather and not answer calls unless you're in an aux and you can only aux for break or if you're having some type of issue. Sometimes your brain just needs a rest from the constant demand of calls and from the not-so-smartness of patients. 
If you aren't fond of the strictness of a call center than I wouldn't apply; had I know it would be like this I would have applied myself.

New Management is making gains and improvements to the Hospital, yet patient satisfaction scores remain low. 
I suspect it has more to do with the lack of teamwork and high nurse-patient ratios than anything else. 
The Nurse managers were friendly, approachable and willing to work with you. Self-scheduled were a definite plus for any nurse. 
Although the Hospital is making gains and implementing new things, it is difficult to change the culture of the Milieu. 
The orientation program was disorganized and focused on things that were important but not the most important. 
Preceptors are not trained to be preceptors and really I found them clueless about different learning styles and leadership styles and what it meant to be a preceptor.
The Hospital overall was clean, the Hospital cafeteria reasonably priced and offered options, people greeted you in the hall and were helpful and the Gift shop was awesome! There are many online learning opportunities and classes to improve your knowledge base
. 
Since its a work in progress and subject to change I hesitate to write anything. But I had already been forewarned by people in the community, and  I wanted to have my own experience and give it an opportunity.Unfortunately what I was forewarned about proved to be accurate. 
My hope is that they will improve in this realm and future hires will have a better experience.

•	I have had experience working with electronic systems along with paper charts/records. Scheduling appointments, answering phones, registering and checking out patients, making and filing charts, data entry, verifying insurance, collecting copayments, daily cash balance.
•	 I have the ability to multitask and learn new tasks quickly.
•	I am a team player, that is willing to help/teach others and learn new things daily to help enlarge my knowledge
•	I am a self motivated person which gives me the ability to motivate myself and others around me in order to do the teamwork needed to have a successful facility.
•	I have the ability to plan and organize at work throughout the day. 
•	I have the ability to adapt and adjust to any change in rules and policies at work, while using effective change management skills to adjust. While working under pressure to get the desired results without letting it affect the efficiency of my work.

This is a terrible place to work!  Administration is corrupt.  Money is the only thing that matters, not patient care! It's their way or no way!  Constantly change your schedule to meet company needs, however, management will not step in to help with schedule and cover shifts.  ER is a 17 bed unit in which they will only schedule four nurses ( new nurses) and one tech. One of those nurses is in triage at all times. Will make nurses float to other units in which they have not been trained ie. Medsurg float to critical care areas with no prior critical care experience. Extreme staff turn over!! All seasoned nurses 15+ years of service have left. Now only new nurses left with no senior nurses to train them. Quoting a nurse manager,  " you have no right to question anything we tell you to do here"! There is only one HR person and she is not on campus most of the time.  Never saw a result from any complaints to HR about patient safety or employee satisfaction! This hospital had employee rollover from the old Gilman hospital. Those employees had pensions as well as 401k benefits.  They were the first employees targeted to be terminated for any reason. These are just a few personal experiences!! Don't waste your time filling out an application!

Hate/love relationship! This place is filled with some of the most awesome hardworking people! The management however is lacking in the knowledge of how the jobs in which they are "managing" are done but they are quick to assign extra tasks or tell you to go help other parts of the hospital without any regard for how your own work or coworkers will suffer. The pandemic made things extra hard ofcourse. The company will send out letters of encouragement but direct management will treat you like you are easily replaceable! A warm body is all that is needed in most positions, your experience or job performance is hardly a concern as most less experienced individuals who have poor work ethic will advance higher or at the same rate as you. The job itself is very rewarding! The benefits have changed and are lacking. The pay is the top 2 worse in the area for licensed professionals. 

Logging into several systems, and ready to go in a high pace only local hospital. You learn something new everyday rather it be with the needs of the patients or the system updating or downgrading. Co-workers work well together, because that will make for a smoother day and also allow us to attend to the patients needs in a timely fashion. Management is very hands on and checks on us frequently and attends to our needs the best that they can. The hardest part of the job is not being able to get to patients sometimes as quickly as we would like when your at full capacity with the beds. Enjoyable part is having great team members to work with and helping one another.

I worked at Southeast Georgia Health System for 5 years and got a chance to learn a lot while there. They have a great staff of people who were always eager to assist you with learning your position.  
I was originally working on the telemetry floor at night and was usually very hectic and busy. The staff that I worked with were so nice and helpful. Everyone seemed to pull together when necessary. The only problem that I had was the call ins and the staff shortages at night. Sometimes the CNA had too many patients to see about that entire shift. Then there were the times when other floors were short handed and would cause our floor staff to float over there to that floor sometimes causing our floor to be under staffed.

Working at Southeast Georgia Health System is a good place when you are first entering into the healthcare field. Almost everyone that you come in contact with at the health system are really nice and helpful. However, there are some people that are not as helpful as others. The best part about working there is the ability is to have the weekends off. You will learn so much from working here if you are new to the healthcare industry and need a good start. But when it comes to promotions and moving up within the company, I personally dont think there is too much room for advancement. Other than that, I would recommend this job for anyone who needs to gain work experience or just need a good start for their career.

I was excited to work in the ER as a paramedic. Was told that management was "talking" about allowing the medics to do more the entire time I worked for SGHS. However, as a paramedic at this hospital, you are a glorified tech. Yes you can start IV's, but the limitations put on you is ridiculous. Not even close to what we do on the truck. We are underutilized to the point where it is almost comical. I spent days, weeks, months rotting in triage not being able to use the skills I have. Start IV's, do ECGs, and sit in triage is what the norm was. Never was challenged or allowed to develop as a paramedic. No upward mobility as a medic, no new skills to learn, nothing to gain but a paycheck.
