What is the best part of working at the company?
I worked for Saint Bernard's as a pharmacy Tech for about 18 months. My experience, overall, was highly disappointing. While some individuals exhibited professionalism at their jobs, the majority did not. It was one of the most disappointing workplaces I've worked at in my entire life. Many employees were very immature and management the worst management I have ever worked for. Management  was too young, inexperienced and naive. The other employees  often acted like they were in junior high school. I would not recommend Saint Bernard's as a place of employment or for healthcare. I saw many things while working there that were very disturbing. The benefits were really great but the pay was below average. Not a good place to work. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management has no control over the operation and they don't seem to care. We were never allowed to sit down and we did not get any breaks other than 30 minutes for lunch. Yet everyone else took breaks, sat down and did very little except talk about others. Some people were treated like pets while others were treated poorly for no reason. It was a terrible work environment. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Unprofessional, immature, very disturbing.  A lot of childish people work there. Never imagined healthcare could be so unbalanced. 


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You go in around 6 AM and you make runs throughout the hospital delivering medicine to areas that need them. Around 11 to 12 noon you get a lunch break for 30 minutes. Then you do the same, delivering medicine throughout the hospital until about 3 PM. That's your shift.

Work-life balance
Work-life balance at St. Bernards Medical Center is not very good.  You don’t seem to have much family time of you do not work a Monday thru Friday job.  They are good about letting you take Fmla for a family emergency.

My experience working at St. Bernards Medical Center I loved my job there wish I was still there .  I made many friends during my 10 years and miss them each and every day but we still keep in touch

I learned to be efficient and competent RN.I learned only

I learned to work with diferents backgrounds of coworkers especially in nursing care.
Sometimes when we have critical patiens assigned of six each RN, but we overcome tha situation,well.
Our patients, everybody very nice and gratefully for nursing care.

Working the with the nursing staff on the different floors is great.  Every department will make you feel welcomed and like family.  The night crew is the best around because no matter where you are, someone is always there for you.  
The problem is any department manager or director will only want to help you as long as you help them.  No director is ever on the same page as a different one.  They tend to play favorites with people and hold things against if you make them upset.  They have no problem working people to death but you will never see them staying late, taking a team of patients, or even offer good incentives to get people to work.  that goes for all levels of management, VPs,  CEOs, Presidents, etc. TO them it is all about how can they get the most out of people but not pay them decently.




I work at an off site location from St. Bernardine medical center. It is essentially an after school program that provides various resources for the local youth in the community. Some mornings, I look up different prevention programs/lessons to teach the youth, and in the afternoons, I serve as a youth mentor. The hardest part of my job is learning to deal with the different attitudes that the different youth have when dealing with interpersonal conflicts. This job has taught me to assess individuals and find teaching/learning methods that work best for the youth there. What I enjoyed most about the job was that I got to build relationships with the kids and watch them grow.

A typical day includes getting report, meeting my patients and taking care of them during my shift. I review orders and pass medications and do Accu checks. Assessments and interventions are carried out and documentation of those assessments as well as interventions completed and how the patient tolerated them. Evaluation patients response to treatment and any changes exhibitied is also critical. Any education given is also documented. Building rapport with patients and caring for them in a way that makes them feel as comfortable as possible. Signing off and giving report at bedside with oncoming nurse completes my shift.

My day typically begins at 0600 and may not end until 1700, depends on what I need to accomplish each day.  This time invested is not recognized by the leadership,  but what I've learned is to stop giving away my time.  Management does not hold the staff accountable to any policy that is in place, no accountability there.  Just culture is taught but also not adhered to.  The most enjoyable part of my job is interacting with the staff and just listening to them.  The most difficult part of my job is working with people who like to be micro managers, which I do not need.

A typical day at work is fast pace. 
I learned how to properly clean and dust and how to direct people with verbal directions instead of showing them.
The management is really respectful and they take there job very seriously. They are very nice and they give you enough training so you know what your doing. 
Every body at the hospital are nice and they will talk to and if you need something all you have to do is ask. 
The hardest part about the job is finding the rooms at first and know where the north towers are. 
The enjoyable part about the job is working is how nice the people are and meeting new strangers all the time.

I learned so much about what a life as a Registered Nurse is working at St. Bernardine Medical Center. I had great people to work with and colaborate with. The supervisors and managers where very aproachable and willing to help and provide guidance required as a student. The hardest part of the job would be having to end my student working experience there as I enjoyed working along all of the staff memebers in the Telemetry and Intensive Care unit. The most enjoyable part was looking forward to going to work and help and provide the care to the patients that I encounter on a daily basis.

My workday started at 5 am, ended at 1 30 pm. And every other weekend. I liked those hours so I could work a second job and also use my week day off for appointments. The work was fairly fast paced and enjoyable. I was responsible for the salad bar and dessert set up, cleaning labeling and handling of food according to guidelines.
