What is the best part of working at the company?
All the stuff are very nice and caring. I'm very lucky to have the coworkers I have! Security is always around and helpful. Once I got a flat tire at the parking lot at 2:30am. I couldn't change it by myself so I called AAA they estimated 3hrs. wait. A security guy, who I didn't know, came to the rescue and changed my tire in minutes. after that he had become one of my favorites in there. I love to think that anything that I encounter in there, I can count with someone to help me and solve the issue. I'm glad to be part of the St. John's Riverside Hospital team!   

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Schedule in general is very unstable. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
We are from all over the world! We all look after each other. We speak multiple languages, and we share life experience in a good environment with respect and tolerance. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Just ask questions to the ones going home about the patients to scan, call for patients, do my work, have a chat with coworkers, prepare for the day after, and go home.

A typical day at work would consist of me picking up and moving patients to examinations and different departments. I learned so much hands on experience working in the emergency department. Management was workable and understanding to such high volume environment. It was a mixture of different cultures whether it was staff or patients, very diverse and understanding. The most challenging part of the job was being the only transporter for the ER department. It was a constant and non stop patient flow, sometimes playing catch up with work volume from lack of man power support. The most enjoyable part of the job was providing the best but most understanding support and service to the patients. That was such an immense self rewarding feeling that's priceless.

My work days are usually very high stress, but that is to be expected in any ER. I am lucky to work with a great team. 

I would like to see a drastic update on the dental insurance. It pays very low, and barely covers more than a twice yearly cleaning. Express Scripts has been late more than once with medication.

Both my managers have been professional and fair at all times.

The most difficult part of my job would have to be when I am responsible for ambulance registration, and 6 arrive within minutes of each other. It can get extremely hectic.

The best part of my job is the variety of people I meet in one day. Most are willing to cooperate with any questions I may ask regarding
patient information, and insurance.

Short staff,  managers who their units in chaos.
I’ve learned to get the experience and move on.
Managers who are afraid to make calls and do their jobs.
Managers who promote bullying and have favoritism plays a big role in this company.
It’s like a disrespectful back stabbing mean girls play ground, ran by ghetto miserable women.
The hardest part of the job is dealing with unprofessional disrespectful people and having to brush it off also being targeted for everything you do. Most enjoyable part of the job is the very few great nurses and doctors  that care  about their job.

A typical day would be anything you planned to get done wouldn't because you would get pulled in to other directions and not accomplish what you thought you would, but be very productive.  I learned everything I know from my co workers.  I had an amazing group of people to work with and learn from.  The hardest part of the job was not being able to accomplish something for the good of the patient and the facility in the time frame that I was given.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the hug, the thank you from a patient of a family member when you were able to get them home or to a facility that they wanted and needed to go to.

Was an overnight  RN on a heavy duty med surg floor. They provide good training.  Expect 8 to 10 pts a night the hospital is always understaffed at night, only 2 nurses and more than likely 20 patients,  so very difficult to coordinate breaks sometimes impossible.  Having them pay you for OT was pulling teeth so have the POA's ready and make sure you argue to get it. Good as a learning experience,  no company pensions anymore ( seems like that's everywhere now), and good staff for the most part. The location is beautiful overlooking the water and a mall down the street.

Working at St. Johns was exciting, constantly learning or being challengd wich is great for me.  The managment is very good and the realtionship with my peers has always been professional and relaxed.  The chances for advancement are stagnant and MSN degrees and DNP degrees show no difference in salary, responsibility or advancement.  The patients are all great, mutual respect, and made the work satisfying.The most difficult part of the job was advancement and th emost enjoyable part of the work are my patients.

-assisting patients and relatives scheduled for surgery 
-learn a substantial amount of medical terms and medical procedures -descriptions
-i'v learned how to be a  team player
-i'v learned great costumer skills, including avoidance of confrontations(Thank's to St.John's)
-management, professional however can stand a little improvement   
- my co- workers are great.
-hardest part of the job is commuting in bad weather 
-i enjoy helping people, that's what i do best, good laughs with staff and completing the tasks of the day.
- i have no complaints

The treatment team I worked with was top-notch and remarkably cooperative. The problem was the top-down management from nursing directors who did not. or chose not to, understand the clinical aspects of mental health/addiction treatment, and had unrealistic caseload expectations. They oversaw staff who were not in their professional domain, disempowered and marginalized their clinical supervisors and were unaccepting of relevent line-worker feedback. I was sad to leave this job because the rewards from actual patient-care work and the competence and compassion of my colleagues were unusually positive. 

Great place to learn skills because you have no option but to because often you will cover the floor with just one other nurse (that is 9-10 patients each, common to have 12 hour shifts with no break). Staff are very friendly and work together for the most part as a family, but they are all EXHAUSTED and overworked. Management is not great. Some are very helpful, empathetic and aware of floors acuity and RN experience level while others do not care and make a fuss about overtime. High turn over rates at nights bc it's a common trend to have new RNs run the floor themselves.
