From the interview process, to the 10 days of training to being put in an office to fend for myself it wasn’t what I pictured this place would be like. Unfortunately the management sorely lacks in understanding the necessary training that goes into hiring a new employee. The lack of direction and support from management was ultimately what made me quit my job as a financial services representative. I couldn’t even talk to the head of the branch without feeling like I was worthless. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is no best part, it’s just a job.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Overworked and underpaid, job becomes stagnant, no incentives, no ways to get promoted even though you’ve done more than expected 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Certain departments vary, have been here going on 6 years. I’ve worked in 2 different departments, both stressful and unprofessional

I enjoyed working at SECU mainly because you build a relationship with your members. I also enjoyed working with my co-workers but just like any other job it was very difficult wording with so many females. For the most part it was a good experience.  I  enjoyed my job duties and schedule.

Great benefits which mirror the state government model.

Friendly work atmosphere with many locations to visit.

Working together on a project is the most rewarding experience at the organization.

Management difficulties and workplace politics are the most difficult part of the job.

This place is micro managed. The supervisors are unable to be supervisors due to HR and VP's constantly wanting to be involved in every minute every day work processes.

The HR Departments main focus is what the employees are wearing and trying to find out if they have tattoos. Come on people...get with the times!!!!

SECU is a great place to work if you enjoy a great work life balance and job security. Great benefits but low pay. Overall a solid place to work and grow with great opportunity for career advancement. 

Loved working for State Employees, the CEO was awsome, well managed, came down to visit got to know you as an individual. Had good Christmas party’s they paid for a good meals. Who turns down good food? Lol!

The Santa Fe branch of the State Employees Credit Union is a very friendly and open place to work. As a contract employee, I only work there one day each month. I always look forward to it. My students are motivated and fun to teach.

I was there for about 12 years. Had a great career there until I realized how unfair things are for Non-Exempt employees.  When I got into management it became difficult to continue working for this company.

Very friendly and professional work environment.  I'm a new hire at the State employee credit union and it has been a big change of scenery from working in a warehouse in garner NC.
