Unless management at this organization has changed dramatically in the last year or so, I could not advise you strongly enough against this place.  Main reason: Poor and shady communication.  Apparently I was hired at this company, yet they provided no official offer letter or opportunity to negotiate salary, then I found out they scheduled me for orientation.  I had a previous commitment that coincided with onboarding week and could not complete Onboarding that week, and was terminated due to a policy I was completely unaware of.  If this is any indication of what working at TCV would be like, I would not want to work for this organization, anyway.  Employees deserve better and more honest and candid communication, and should be accommodated for their mental health, too, rather than keeping them on probation for 12 months (from what I understand, the average workplace has a 90 day probation period).
I have since learned from colleagues of mine that they did not stay long in full-time positions here, because of poor communication and management causing them to burn out quickly, and the poor pay that does not do a social worker with a Master’s degree justice.  Most of them, as well as colleagues who completed field placements there, thought they gained good field experience, but it wasn’t worth the stress and frustration in other areas.
Based on my personal experience with this company, and input from colleagues, I would recommend looking elsewhere.  This organization fails its employees and needs to find ways to facilitate their success, rather than letting them slip away.

It goes without saying that agency and non profit work are hard and thankless. But, the following was my experience with TCV: 
TCV exploits the altruism that is required to work at a non-profit. There is no flexibility when it comes to expectations, in fact, if your job gains more responsibility you are expected to keep working at the same level of productivity. There is very little training or communication (the HR department did not help my transition into work very well at all). Management (DAS and APH) triangulate issues and point fingers when things go wrong (the amount of behind closed doors conversations is staggering). Narrative bias effects the way coworkers and clients are treated AND the luxuries and leniencies that they get. The exhaustion i felt and the poor pay and the poor management caused me to burn out QUICKLY and I consider myself strong and resolute. TCV loves to keep the status quo and fill beds--if you do anything to disrupt that, its likely you'll be targeted and gaslit. 

Expectations of clinicians are not clearly set, there is Inconsistencies with what is expected vs what is not. Policies are not followed, sometimes there is little guidance on things that need feedback. There isn't high morale due to the high turnover rate of therapists. Compensation for work is not competitive despite what is stated. There is no work/life balance, expected to work 37.5 hours a week, but are often giving way more time to the agency, to the point that the sun is down by the time, it is time to clock out. Caseloads are extremely high and the environment promotes burnout over self care. 

A typical day at the Day Academy consists of being attacked and hurt by students, and being dismissed by administration when attempting to express concerns. HR is difficult to reach or get a response from, and if you do, you are given incorrect information.  Very stressful environment with daily violence.  Parking is not ideal or safe.  Very little time off and medical benefits are costly and don't cover many prescriptions.  Staffing is difficult because there is always some one off on workman's comp recovering from an attack.

A nice team of humorous and inclusive individuals. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The job itself, but any social work type of job is stressful. It comes with the territory you're in and you know how hard it can be going into it. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Inclusive and diverse. Everyone is caring and willing to help. Zero stress to be anyone other than yourself. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Appointments and paperwork. Weekly meetings with supervisor.

A typical day at Turtle Creek Valley MH/MR is very chaotic because I assist mental health consumers in finding housing, drug and alcohol, mental health and medical services while ensuring that daily documentation is completed in a timely manner.  Management is oppressive and punitive but my coworkers are incredible.  The hardest part of the job is balancing the requirements of the position and still having downtime.  Without proper down time, burnout can set in.

I loved working at TCV and got great experience.  Agency gave very generous staff bonuses during COVID.  I enjoyed working with my co-workers who wanted to make a difference.  There is room for advancement if you are willing to step up into leadership roles and possibly work in other programs.  This non-profit has the same struggles as other small behavioral health agencies who are not part of the big hospital systems in Pittsburgh.  You have to really want to help people and care about others to work here.  

We receive horrible pay for what we do and upper management does not seem to care.  Our budget is not enough to provide the services needed for the program.  My coworkers are great, we get along as a great team and try to always help each other.  My new supervisor is nice and cares about his employees.  The clients here are amazing people who have progressed well in their recovery.

A typical day consisted of working with a select caseload of clients with various needs, in differing life domains. I attended court hearings and various doctor appointments, including medical and mental health. I assisted individuals with obtaining housing, employment, and education. The most enjoyable part of the job was assisting individuals with being more productive members of society.

I had to work almost 80 hours a week to pay my bills. When I had concerns or issues with clients not being taken care of my supervisor and manager didn’t seem to care. I was always stressed and tired. Coworkers were always causing drama. Health benefits were very expensive
