Working there had its good times, while finding ways to help and provide comfort or information to people/beneficiaries. Coworkers - the teams I worked for were amazing and we helped each other as much as we could. They have nice activities for the employees, some festive parties and workshops.

Taking that away, management was a mess!!!

Not all supervisors knew what their job entailed, to the point that people who work under them were better suited for the job. They blamed mistakes on the working bees and expected you to deal with very difficult situations that you aren't fully trained for, but expect you to be excellent. If you need them, most times they aren't available for assistance.(Again...not all are like this, I had nice ones).

No job security .
Remember its a full-time/temporary job, only people that are full-time permanent have medical ensures and certain benefits. The working bees get contracts that are renewed every 1 to 6 months, you're lucky if it's a year...still that doesn't mean job security.

Be nice to...
IT employees are your friends, be nice to them...they try as much as they can.
Be nice to the quality team. When evaluated (they do this around 2 to 4 times a month, if needed) ask questions and don't be afraid to point out mistakes or a problem with the evaluation, if you find it was confusing or unfair... talk with them, but be respectful. 

Overall...
It's a very stressful environment, they are not well organized, depending on where they place you, its the schedule you will expect. You could work from Monday to Friday, or can expect from Monday to Sunday weird schedules. *pray you don't get the 24/7 type...they butcher schedules, specially if you perform poorly.
If you are fully bilingual, expect to be abused a bit. You are a rare breed.

Honestly, it's the type of job that if you don't get too attached and don't take abuse out of people personally... you'll do fine. If you are too emotional or empathetic, it will wear you down.   
Breaks are limited they can or will take it away if the calls are overflowing. If they find a team is performing poorly, (depending which area you work for) they will state that you can't ask for personal days (for example: call are back to back, if you work for a team that makes outbound calls- they didn't meet the "cuota", etc. )which you have to ask at least 14 days in advance and remind them if accepted by the supervisor...they WILL forget or act as if you never asked for it. They expect you to have no life, out of work.

These are somethings to think about...

Pros: 
You may have the ability to work remotely, depending on which department you're assigned. You get Holiday Pay and Sick Time. All the equipment is given to you, including a headset. If the power or internet goes out, you have the option of going into the office.
Cons:
Certain departments are not very organized.  The training leaves a lot to be desired. They always say a certain time frame for training but put you on the phones after the first 3 days.  Your manager changes often, and rarely it'll be somebody qualified. My current manager takes random vacations, but in order to approve *your* vacation you'll need to request it almost a year in advance. There are no advancement opportunities here.  The schedules are "flexible" but not for you! So you need to make sure you have complete availability because they will not adjust to your schedule, even if promised before you got hired!  If you're in college, don't even think about it because management will not care. If a professor changes an exam date or any last minute your manager will expect you to just miss it and write you up if you're absent.  The communication between management and employees is not direct. For example, when someone makes a mistake the next day management will send an email for the entire department but never tell you personally about it. It makes it hard to learn when you're doing something wrong. They hire people through Temporary contracts to evade giving them benefits. All the lines are severely understaffed, its a constant revolving door of agents and the ones who stay bear the brunt of it.  When you sign the contract they tell you you'll be paid a differential for being bilingual, and another one for working after 8PM. You will have to go back and forth with Payroll, HR and your manager for a while to get those payments otherwise you'll never see that money. They have some shady practices regarding payment. The 15 mins breaks will end with the training, only unpaid 30 min meal breaks.

This company is not to be considered as a place to grow professionally.  They don't know that word. Employees are treated in the worst way possible by the management.  Low salary and a lot of duties, no payed vacations, no payed sick days, managers don't understand that you are human and that you need to see the doctor, they don't understand that you get sick and they don't care that you have family.  You need to ask permission to go to the bathroom and if they say no, you have to sadly stand up for your self and go. they promote good for nothing people with no degrees but the ones that have a degree and a high level of education are nothing for this company.  The promote people with little or no intelligence at all, the smart ones are in the phones.

This work is not for people who have others that depend on you. A typical day at work is um not much to say that your stuck on a computer your whole shift only getting ten minute breaks a half of hour lunch break and poor wage. You do not have security of your job even thou you can work here for a year up to five and you never get the benefits of a regular employee. You cant ask for days off for medical emergencies cuase you will get a diciplinary acton taken on you wich could lead to the termination of your services. Your vactions are wasted when you need get a family member sick or have an emergencie that means that if you dont have vacation dayz you cant go on vaction

Conducted Health Risk Assessment (HRA)- Initial Health Evaluation of participants of different health plans that provide Medicare Advantage, such as MMM Healthcare LLC, PMC Medicare Choice LLC, Humana Insurance Company and Molina Health Care of Puerto Rico. It is a health risks questionnaire that serves as comparative measure to evaluate through time the changes of health on population.
 It was fun to work in there, the interaction with co-workers and the great opportunity to learn about the needs of population and help them to achieve benefits to their health.

Being on time is the secret to success, everybody says hi when you arrive to your shift. If you have any questions you will find the answer on your coworkers, your managers or supervisors, you never fill alone on any situation. There is a soft enviroment. Workin with so many different peoples and patients characters teaches a lot of how to treat them and behave in different scenarios. The part I enyoy the most is helping other people and the hardest one is when I have to tell them that I cant not help them.

Working at TeleMedik was a completely different experience. pI was able to help other through translations and at the same time learn how to manage Customer Service vía Call Center. I learned a lot of vocabulary through the document translations. i also got the opportunity to interpret for English speaking participants via telephone calls.

Even though I learned a lot, I wasn't able to get the economic stability I was looking for. I had no health plan for me or my daughter and I couldn't apply for a 401k retirement plan.

Contact Center specialized in health. Work is very routine, but I learned a lot. For example, I had to create a draft for a full operational layout of how the Translator should work in a Contact Center (I was the company's first translator). Management was efficient, but they lacked employee satisfaction. Something new happened every day and my co-workers were very efficient to be able to manage any given situation, but the company sometimes lacked resources.

This job is repetitive and your seated about 8 hrs a day the overtime is mandatory and you are assigned any work hour even overnight shift without being asked .When you have a concern regarding your payment nobody knows how to asist you and its a good job for a certain time period but it isnt a forever job They only give you 2 days when a close family member dies
And they have new employees all the time because the good employees leave


A typical day at work was call providers all day to ask for clinic evidence so we can authorize equipment and medications for security. I learned how to dialog with providers and how to be a good customer service. My co-workers where very friendly and they know how to work as a team. The hardest part of the job was to find clinic evidence so we can authorize the equipment or the medication. The most enjoyable part of the job was the great team of the co-workers.
