I work with friendly people for the most part.  I also work with some flat out lazy people who are glued to their chair...reading their latest novel, fb, texting, gaming, sleeping or just plainly do not want to do a thing. You can report them all day. The only thing that may happen is a global email reminding staff not to the above unless "they have down time". There are always thing to do on the Unit when you have down time. 

If you make a misstep, a witch hunt ensues, unless you're one of management's goons/ spies. I've seen just recently a nurse get accused of medication  issues as told by the pts, mentally ill, drug seeking pts. They fired her.  She was one of the most knowledgeable nurses, always took the time to explain and answer questions for us newbies. She could handle any type pt. The whole unit depended on her. She would be there anytime she was called, traded shifts if asked. Generous, giving, the Mama of the Unit.  THAT DID IT FOR A LOT OF 
US !  Everyone I work with is looking for another job. 

They also do not provide security, nurses and techs are expected to leave their units and respond to violent situations. A lot of us get hit or hurt every time we work.  We fill out incident reports, W/C report of injury, but they don't even have the courtesy to follow up with you.  Risk Managenent is a joke. Their philosophy is everything is staff's fault. They never try to get to the root of the problem. I frankly don't think they have the capability.

They accept any type of pts, don't require full medical clearance. Intake consists of SWs, never nurses. SWs main bonus is to fill beds whether they meet criteria or totally inappropriate for admission. But neither the SWs or management do not have to provide care for these pts, try to keep other pts safe,much less worry about staff safety. They admit pts who are too far gone and/ or 90+ years old. We do nothing for these pts because they are unable to participate in groups. Their therapy consists of watching TV and coloring. WOW!
I'm sure Medicare would not be very happy knowing how much money is being wasted. But TP is going to drain every day and every cent from their payor source.

Outcomes are not tracked. Quality improvement is non-existent. Employee appreciation rarely occurs. A mass exodus is coming soon.  So anyone looking for a merciless job, theire will be a lot of positions available in this toxic work place. 

I have not exagerrated a single thing about this place.  It is just sad. This place could really shine, but only if management starts caring about regulations AND realize those of us on the front lines PAY THEIR SALARY! Nothing they do behind their desks generates a dime!

We feel so badly for those staff who gave so much and really cared, couldn't take it anymore or were forced out.  While lazy, worthless employees remain, mostly due to blowing smoke up managements butts. That says all I need to know.

I could go on and on about what is wrong with TrustPoint. TRUST should not be part of the name of this facility.

Lastly, if you do go to work for them,  I wish you all the luck in the world, you're going to need it! 

What is the best part of working at the company?
I have had a very positive experience working at TrustPoint Hospital. One of the most noticeable aspects of the workplace is the friendly and supportive environment among staff. Team members across departments are approachable, respectful, and always willing to help each other when things get busy. That sense of teamwork makes a big difference in maintaining a positive atmosphere and helping everyone provide the best care possible.

The work environment is also fairly laid back compared to many healthcare settings. While the job can certainly be demanding at times, management encourages a balanced and respectful workplace culture. Staff are trusted to do their jobs well, which helps reduce unnecessary stress and allows people to focus on their responsibilities and on supporting patients.

Another strong point is the leadership at the hospital. Supervisors and administrators are engaged, supportive, and communicate expectations clearly. Leadership makes an effort to listen to staff feedback and address concerns, which helps create a sense that employees are valued and heard. This kind of leadership contributes greatly to the positive culture throughout the organization.

Overall, TrustPoint Hospital offers a welcoming work environment with strong leadership and a cooperative team culture. It’s a place where employees can feel supported while doing meaningful work.

I have worked in 2 different departments while being at TrustPoint, and this gives me a unique perspective as to the hospital as a whole. I have thoroughly enjoyed both of my positions. I think everywhere you work you will always have some issues, whether they be with management, with coworkers, or anything else, but with any issues I have had, the people are always what made me want to stay. I have worked with a really good group of people who care about each other as people and are great to work with. It can be very fast paced and challenging at times but I enjoy it. I also think it is important to make an effort and see people's best intentions, and a lot of times I find some people do not do that so they have a negative outlook on everything and nobody can do anything right for them. An example being some people say management is bad, but they are not thinking about the fact that they have really tried to make an effort, where at other jobs you will find management that truly does not care. Every job has issues but I believe that the team here is doing a good job at improving communication, appreciating their employees, and making this hospital a GREAT place to work. I truly love my job and will stay as long as they let me. 

This place is a nightmare. Management is so disorganized and does not value you or your time, effort, and contributions to the hospital/units. I worked here for only 6 months, and when I left, the hospital was looking for our 3rd unit manager because they kept quitting or getting fired. With each new manager and interim manager came new policies and rules, and the massive lack of communication meant that the nurses and techs working on the unit didn’t know what was “current” or “outdated”. Staff kept quitting or getting fired left and right. (When I left, even though I had only been there a short time, I was one of the two with the most seniority on our unit). Unit was severely understaffed, to the point of it being dangerous(one night it was only myself and one other PCT for the entire unit). I have seen great nurses get fired for the most ludicrous things. Upper Management is very clique-y and basically this small group of individuals determines who stays and who gets fired based upon if they like you or not. I left because I value my license and my safety. Seriously, this place is not the place to be if you want to explore psych nursing. Try one of the other hospitals in the region.

The hospital is very clean,has some wonderful doctors and employees.They need to hire more housekeeping service individuals.Where these individuals work,the hospital is spotless,but not enough enviornmental staff to keep the whole hospital this way.Nurses should be more involved in self scheduling but at this time that is not an option.There is not enough staff on night shift to handle patients that are aggressive or aggitated and most of the time it is just women that have to deal with these patients.Employees have been hurt and hit by patients,an employee was terminated after she was hurt by a patient on the senior altzheimers unit and she was bedridden for months.When she was ready to come back to work,they told her that her job was no longer available because she had been out longer than the fmla period allowed.This employee  was on worker's compensations,which i don't see how that should have been allowed.

The biggest issue with this hospital/company is both the poor treatment of staff and the lack of support from management. Having worked in different hospitals and in fast food and retail, I can say that this job was by far the worst in terms of morale and poor management. There is no security here, you are often expected to do things that are unsafe for both staff and patients, and the completely ignorant and immoral practices in the hospital is appalling. Management is incredibly immoral and irresponsible and accepts any and all patients, regardless of if it is safe or reasonable (for the patient or for staff) to do so. Chronically understaffed so you get pulled to other units very often. Any concerns whatsoever are completely disregarded and/or invalidated. The ratio is high, staff are all stressed and the higher ups do nothing about it (though they oftentimes have the power to). 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Until the last couple of days, we were always understaffed, and many of the patients were not only a danger to themselves but to the staff. Supplies are always running short, and now they've removed all the cleaning supplies from the units but are still expecting us to clean throughout the shift.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Knowing that some patients can't be handled one-on-one, and the alarm system they spent thousands of dollars on to help make us safer isn't worth a hill of beans and hasn't worked properly since the 1st day it was installed.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The people working the floor get along for the most part and try to have each other's backs. There are a few that I refuse to be in the same unit with because when it all hits the fan, they are always nowhere to be found.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Hair on fire from the moment I step on the unit.

As a dietary aide you have specific tasks that must be accomplished within  a specific time frame such as preparing drinks, desserts, and side dishes before tray line begins to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is a lot of cleaning involved when working in a kitchen. You also must answer phone calls and take any food or drink requests to patients throughout the day. There is a strong team atmosphere and you have to be willing to jump in and help another coworker out in order to get tasks done in a timely manner. Management is strict and sets a high standard for employees but also rewards and recognizes your hard work. The hardest part of the job was the constant fast-paced environment, having to keep up with multiple diet changes with various patients, and serving 99+ patients per day. The most enjoyable part was working with such a hard working and fun staff as well as gaining experience in my field of interest as I worked toward becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.

Days and evenings are spent prepping, cooking, and cleaning. Meals are prepared for patients and staff based on specific and strict dietary needs and employees must be knowledgeable of various diets. The dietary director and executive chef placed knowledgeable and hard working individuals in open positions. Cleanliness of the kitchen is a high priority and a lot of work and time is focused in this area. Line workers and cooks are required to read and comprehend complex dietary instructions as well as follow the exact tailored recipes for each meal. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to cook and serve delicious food that is not typically found in hospitals. The most challenging part of the job is not being able to give patients exactly what they want due to dietary restrictions.

The new leadership SUCKS. They are so unfair and FAKE. Become Very petty when they realize that we are not kissing their behinds. They want to add more responsibility on to you without letting you know and without increasing your pay and just expect you to be okay with it. They play with your paychecks..  etc. EVERYONE is quitting because trustpoint is SINKING and trying to take everyone down with them. The receptionists are one of the best employees there and they treat them like the scum of the earth knowing that they already deal with backlash of patients family members because The receptionists are the last to know everything! Whose fault is that? The leaders. Trustpoint is not what it used to be. I feel a layoff coming soon.  Don’t waste your time working here or becoming a patient here.
