I learned a great deal at The Mike Ferry Organization.  When I started working at MFO in 2008, I had very little Accounting experience.  I was fortunate enough to have the guidance of some experienced mentors that enabled me to gain invaluable knowledge not only in the Accounting field, but in the business professional world in general.  I started as a temporary Accounting Clerk, and I was able to work my way up to Accounting Supervisor.  It was my level of dedication, and the authentic nature in which I cared about the company and all of it's employees that helped me move up in the company.  
Towards the end of my tenure at MFO, I did not really have a typical day.  I became a go to person in the company, and I provided support to all of the departments of the company.  It gave me a great sense of fulfillment to be able to make the jobs of others easier and to truly make a difference on a daily basis.  Whether it was auditing financial data, or simply processing simple entries in our General Ledger, I took on any tasks that were given to me to handle.
I was truly fortunate to be part of a great team at MFO.  The management was always supportive, and open to any suggestions that I would make for policy and procedural changes.  I learned a lot from key managers at the company, at it is knowledge that I will forever benefit from.
My co-workers at MFO were wonderful to work with.  I developed a strong relationship with many of my co-workers, and we developed a strong trust with one another.  We depended on each other when we needed help, and we were always looking for ways to make each others jobs easier.
The hardest part of my job was truly having to leave.  I made the move from Las Vegas to Orange County in April 2015, and it was not easy leaving a secure job that I thoroughly enjoyed.  Other than that, I would say that the hardest part of my job was working customer service at the big retreats that we had annually.  There were three events that would require key staff members to work at in various capacities.  The hours were long, the work was intense, but those were the only things that would make me state that it was the 'hardest' part of my job.  I vastly enjoyed working at the events, and while it was intense work, and would require travel away from my family, I loved the non-stop grind of working at the events, and the high energy from the large crowd of attendees that would be a part of our seminars.
There were so many enjoyable parts of my job.  The most enjoyable aspect of my position was that it was a key position in the company in that I was able to provide support to all departments.  Because of this, I was always busy working with the staff to provide reports, audits, or any other type of support in whatever way I could.  My knowledge of the databases and Excel helped make others comfortable in approaching me for help, and I would always be happy to help.  I also enjoyed working at the three retreats that our company would have throughout the year.  Being able to travel, and to meet a lot of our biggest clients was always a pleasurable experience.  These events always yielded immensely successful sales numbers, and it was an exciting experience to have hands on experience with that process.

I worked for this company for less than eight days. During that time, I received very limited training and was expected to perform my duties independently almost immediately. As a new employee, I found it difficult to learn the company's procedures and expectations without adequate guidance or support.

I was provided with very few resources to perform my job. Aside from a pen and notepad, I was not given access to the programs, systems, or tools necessary to complete many of the tasks I was expected to handle. This made it challenging to perform effectively, especially considering the limited training I received.

I made an effort to be friendly and professional, greeting coworkers each morning with a smile and saying "good morning" or "hello." Unfortunately, those greetings were often met with little or no response, which made the work environment feel unwelcoming and difficult to navigate as a new employee.  Nice people, just very cold and unwelcoming.

I was also informed that concerns had been raised about me taking long breaks. However, I did not take extended breaks and was surprised by this accusation. I was never given an opportunity to discuss the concern or clarify any misunderstanding before my employment was terminated.

While I understand that not every position is the right fit, I believe new employees would benefit from a more structured on-boarding process, better communication, adequate training, and timely access to the tools and systems required to perform their jobs. Based on my experience, expectations for a new hire did not align with the level of training, support, and resources provided.

I can't believe what people are saying about this company. 

I've worked here for almost 7 years and never experienced what everyone here is saying.

I dress business appropriate so I have never been told anything about the way I dress.

I am overweight and have never been told that I need to lose weight.

I sell on a regular basis and therefore have never been threatened that I would lose my job.

if you show up, dress appropriately, do the work and sell regularly... You'll be great here.

I can tell you from experience... Most people who don't make it here have some misguided sense of "entitlement" where they think they deserve everything for doing nothing. I've been the sales manager for less than a year and had the experience of being a sales rep for the rest of my time.

As a sales rep for almost 6 years I can tell you that if you just do the work you are asked to do... You will be fine.

It's amazing to me that when someone is honestly taking time out of their day to stop what they are doing and help you understand why you are getting the poor results you're getting, it gets labeled as  "micromanaging." 

If you don't like being told how to sell at a high level... Don't take this job. If you are coachable and willing to put in the effort you will do well.

Just like ANY sales job, if you don't produce in a reasonable amount of time then you won't keep your job. 

11 of the 15 people on the sales floor have been here for 2 years or more... Which should tell you that there a fun enough working environment to stay on.

5 of the 15 will make over $100,000 in the next 12 months. That should tell you that there is a great opportunity to make money here.

I'm shocked at how many poorly this great company has been misrepresented here on this site.

My experience at this company was deeply disappointing and ultimately unsettling. From the beginning, there was little to no structure, guidance, or formal onboarding. I was shown to my desk and expected to perform without proper training or materials for incoming sales staff, which forced me to create my own processes just to keep operations moving.

The work environment appeared unstable, with frequent management turnover and ongoing internal issues. Long-term employees seemed to hold significant influence, while new leadership was given little opportunity or support to succeed. This created confusion, inconsistency, and a lack of accountability across departments.

Support from surrounding departments was minimal, and ownership was rarely present to observe day-to-day operations. As a result, leadership decisions often felt disconnected from the realities employees faced on the floor. Communication from upper management was inconsistent, unclear, and at times misleading, which contributed to low morale and growing uncertainty among staff.

I was let go shortly before Christmas, during a period when many others were also terminated or dismissed. Based on conversations and observations, I was not alone—a significant number of employees were affected around the same time. This timing and scale further highlighted the company’s instability and lack of consideration for its workforce.

Overall, the company appears to struggle with employee retention, organization, and transparency. While every workplace has challenges, the issues here felt systemic rather than situational. Anyone considering employment should be aware that they may face limited training, inconsistent leadership, and a lack of job security. Those who value stability, support, and honest communication may want to proceed with caution or explore other opportunities.

Working for The Mike Ferry Organization has been filled with many accomplishments and with challenges that have only helped me grow.

I began with the company as a receptionist more than 11 years ago. Today, I am the Executive Assistant to the President of the company and have been entrusted with many projects that have only helped push me beyond my own pre-conceived boundaries... thanks to their support and guidance.

What I have found to be true, and what has kept me loyal to this company over the years, is the sense of responsibility... what I do matters. Not only to the company but my fellow co-workers and clients. 

What you put out is what you get in return. My years of investment have provided me with great returns twice over with recognition, compensation, growth, and skills that would warrant me an asset to any company should I ever decide to continue on elsewhere.

Some would say that this is a tough place to work. To them I would say the standards are set high. With that, the opportunity is given to stretch beyond and become better. There is nothing wrong with a company that seeks to hire those that are willing, able, and do what it takes to succeed. It is only fair to the employer, the services it provides it's clients and of course to the team that want to work along side others that give their best each day.

If you like the thrill of fearing you may lose your job every day, no matter how well you do your job or how hard you try, then this job is for you! They make the compensation decent so hopefully you tolerate being talked down to, judged, micro-managed and left unanswered. The owners have everyone throwing each other under the bus just to make them believe they are saving their position, but truth is, you're a goner next. One day you're being told how well you're doing, the next scolded and fired without warning. The sales floor is required to meet a ridiculous quota by a certain time (if not then fired) and required to stand on their feet the entire day. The amount of sales people that are cycled through this company is mind-blowing. MFO is a training and coaching company that does not train or coach their employees. You will always see them hiring for a reason. So, if you want something extremely temporary and have thick-skin, this is the job for you! Good luck.

Pros:

- Positive culture and pleasant coworkers.
- Constant exposure to one of the best sales systems in the world.
- Free coffee and tea in the break room.
- You get a 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon.
- Paid holiday time off for at least 1 week if you've been employed for 90 days.
- Fun work events as thank you from upper management like Top Golf or potlucks.
- Most importantly: knowing your work positively impacts thousands of real estate professionals looking to improve their sales skills.

Cons:

- 8 to 5 workday instead of 9 to 5 for non-sales employees. Not a huge con, just a personal pet peeve. You get an hour of unpaid lunch but I'd prefer a 30 minute paid lunch and start an hour later.

Ultimately, I enjoy working here and I get along with all ~50 employees (usually a rare thing, there's no one I don't get along with... It's kinda weird to be honest). The hours are sane and while there's constant work to do, it's not stressful and I have a lot of autonomy in my position, which is great because I can work on improving systems and processes.

My position was honestly not bad. I did everything I could by myself with minimal training or overlook. The original person who hired me communicated well the 4 weeks she was there while I was there, and things went smoothly. And I will say Mike himself is super nice.

However, the communication after their efficiency manger left the business went downhill. My new “higher up” had no idea what my position did. I was questioned on everything, nit picked on everything, and would never be able to ask them questions because they would direct me to ask someone else. 
Mistakes (even from learning from the little training your given ) are not allowed and any made in probationary period cause immediately termination. They preach they want it to be the best place you’ve ever worked, but the lack of communication, the odd clique with the EA side type environment and no one knowing any answers causes major confusion. Apply at your own risk. 

Total Sweatshop!   They make you stand ALL DAY while making sales calls! I've seen them take chairs away from those caught sitting down!  They require you to get a doctor's note if you want the privilege of sitting down!
It appears they've lowered their potential  income range to 40-60K. This is more reasonable than the 80-100K range I was told.  OK, maybe I was naïve, but you probably won't even make the upper end of their range even if every person you talk to buys something from you.
If you're a suckup or kissass you may do fairly well here. They like those types, conformists.  If you have a mind of your own, think for yourself and speak up about or question things, Forget It! They won't like you and you'll quickly be gone. They will try and get you to quit or just fire you, if you don't just quit first because of what you see around you.
They are always posting ads and go to every job fair to recruit new sales people. They have to, high turnover is just part of normal business practice for this place.

Usually people go in from 8am to 5pm, Mon-Fri. They really don't let you stay longer if you need to really hit a deadline. 

I learned a lot but I'm not sure many people get that opportunity. 

Management could use some work, especially the higher-ups. 

Workplace culture is okay until management finds a fault in your attitude or work (even if it's just one or a few instances).

Dependent on your position for the difficulty of the job, but the deadlines can be hard to meet if the higher-ups don't respond with enough time to address feedback. 

Enjoyable part of the job was Christmas time when there would be gifts given by the CEO and a work party, along with almost two weeks paid time off in December.
