-PTO Policy in Employee handbook is different than actual procedure in place. Good luck getting time off.
-I suggest hiring a prn pool. Stop trying to make prn employees commit to a schedule. That is not what prn is. Prn employees should be used to cover call outs and pto.
-Management is always asking what they can improve on, but when you speak up you are reprimanded and given excuses as to why things are the way they are. It’s clear these meetings with leaders are for show.
-You will get interrupted when speaking to a superior.
-Clear rules should be stated for all employees as to what can/can’t be done on the floor. This will prevent rules being made up on the fly.
-Stop taking good suggestions off board in break room.
-Fine example of micromanaging.
-Walking on eggshells.
-Too many Indians not enough Chiefs.
-If you pick up shifts that’s considered being an above average employee. Maybe consider those who work hard as being above average.
-Clear disconnect between admissions and floor. Admissions employees seem to forget where they are. Patients are brought back with contraband EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Sure it’s stressful but it’s what comes with the job. If you get your feelings hurt easy and complain about everything 90 percent of the time.. well it’s you as a employee not the employer. small hospital to were you can get the training you need and a slower environment to be able to succeed. Not like bigger hospitals where you are out left to dry. 
I did notice they hire older folks that can’t physically perform the job and it’s a liability issue and unsafe for other staff members and most importantly there selves. For example  I remember a guy that worked in the kitchen that would walk with a cane everywhere to get around. Staff member often times confused him to be a patient which is hilarious and he would get super angry because people will try to help. 
Can’t have that, it creates discomfort for the patients when people are cynical because of personal issues. 

It’s a money making business and that’s all the place tries to be. It’s cheap with their staff and gives none of the staff any feeling of safety .  They continuously have staffing issues because they can’t keep an employee for more than 6 months. The people they do have you will realize that no one likes working there and have no faith in management. You will be on a hall with 15 patients by yourself . Don’t think you won’t . 👌🏻
On top of that they have literally nothing to offer the patients while they charge over 200 dollars to stay a night . The doctors never show up and the therapist and nurses are there to do paperwork as the techs do everything else. 
Don’t even think about a raise either. No joke . You’ll be promoted to supervisor and still get paid as a regular worker and good luck trying to get it straight . 

Save yourself the time and effort and just don’t .

Lack of integrity: Nursing mgt distributed written instructions to the staff to chart in such a way as to keep the pt in the hospital longer in order to milk their insurance.
Archaic paper charting-The system creates numerous mistakes and is terribly inefficient. Patients confidential info is scattered all over the desks in plain view of everyone.
No clerical staff. The nurses have to be clerks as well as nurses because the company is too cheap to hire a clerk.

At the start you get about 2 weeks of training comprised of 5 days a week and maybe a couple days for extras, then you get 3 shadow days with chance for more if you need it. There are 2 shifts available, day shift which is from 7am to 730pm and night which is 730pm to 7am. 3 days a week can get you 36 hours with many chances to pick  up more shifts if needed. As for what it's like on the floor, well it's like finally doing the thing history tried to ignore, helping a group of people who have been stigmatized in the past. There might be a culture shock the first week or so, but it's an experience you won't get by working for just dollars.

Management does not abide by ACHA guidelines, has no concern for safety or patients, or their employees, cuts employees hours when census is now to unacceptable levels, making the RN to pt. ratio unsafe and ill-advised, only care about the bottom line. Are so cheap they have removed Styrofoam cups from availability to employees because they thought that employees were using them when they are for patient's use (so then no one had any access until an RN pointed out it was unsafe for pts , many who were fall risks, to drink out of a water fountain without risk). then the cups were replaced. most halfway competent employees do not stay. they are truly a pathetic example of acute care facility.

The building itself is filthy. Floors, walls, bathrooms... all of it. A few of the staff members really care about the wellbeing of the clients and work hard to be a productive part of the whole cycle, but that is a very few. Horrible attitudes from most staff, lack of enthusiasm for their job, no empathy for the clients... just there to collect a paycheck (plenty of overtime available because they are short staffed). Employees that blatantly disregard policies are allowed to keep their jobs because they are a "body" sitting there. Could be a good place to work if the riff raff was weeded out and the place was kept to hospital cleanliness standards.

The client's is the reason for showing up to work.  Upper management sucks and some were RACIST!

UNDERSTAFFED  There was never enough staff! Lack of help with upper management 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful there was no teamwork everyone was for self

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Last couple of months I dreaded going in. The tussling with clients was very overwhelming especially when there inadequate staffing

There’s so many different administration coming up with “solutions” that everyday you show up to work it’s like starting new. There’s zero organization and zero communication. The mental health techs run the floor and get paid the least. Can barely feed a family for one with the wages. The health insurance is costly, you have to pay for food and if you don’t they throw it in the trash anyways, and it’s just not a great place to work. The only exception is they know how to hire good techs and nurses. There’s no advancement here.
