This is a pretty good job and would be even better if it was consistent. WFH is a plus in addition to the lovely clients we meet during the assessment process but the issue now is whether or not we will even get an assessment or even any work completed. You also get to pretty much make your own schedule which is awesome because you can make a schedule to fit you and your needs. Management-Upper management is reasonable and willing to answer all questions but they don’t seem to be as concerned that majority of the assessors are not getting much work therefore they are not getting paid. Upper management gets paid regardless because they are considered full time with benefits but coming in as an assessor you are considered part time with no benefits. You receive 70$ per assessment which truly isn’t much due to the time that is spent on the assessments between the actual video assessment and completing the written portion of the assessment. Once you complete an assessment it is sent to your reviewer and if changes are needed you have to complete the changes on your own time within a 24 hour timeframe (whether you’re working or not) and you are not compensated for that time. Also, most WFH positions offer more per assessment and/or per hour (25$/hr for anything outside of assessments). Training- Minimal training which is pretty much self paced-you are given several documents to read and videos to watch pretty much on your own time. Workload-You are expected to complete a minimum of 10 assessments per week BUT between 10 assessments not being available and cancellations, 10 assessments is hard to get by. Overall, the job has great potential but if you are looking for a steady income, this is not the job for you. Upper management makes promises but seldom carries through. This job is inconsistent with pay. At this time our assessment census is extremely low for most and it’s penny pinching. If you do accept this job and rely on this job for full financial compensation, if possible, have another part time or side job to meet your monetary requirements because this alone will not be enough.

This would be the best job in the world IF the company cared more about their employees and actually paid them for their time and the work was more reliable. The job is doing lengthy assessments for insurance companies via video. You are told these assessments should take 2.5 hours and you are compensated $70 per assessment. The reality is that the assessments most often take 3-4 hours to complete, possibly longer if you spend time entering in info you may receive prior to the assessment or if it a difficult assessment. You are not compensated for the tons of emails you are expected to read and respond to. You are not compensated for cancellations or no shows. You are not compensated for phone calls you are expected to make. You are not compensated for your phone or internet. You are not compensated for assessments you start but have to stop for one reason or another. Even if the company is at fault or double booked the clients with 2 nurses, if you ask to be compensated for your time, you are told you are a "gig worker" and do not even get an apology.  You will receive emails demanding that you make yourself available for 10 assessments per week. Sometimes they will give you assessments and sometimes you will get almost no work and once again are told you are a "gig worker". Expect phone calls, texts, and emails even on days you are not working. You will not be compensated for this time either. Management is very nice, but often does not respond for days. Scheduling can be pretty nasty and also do not respond for days. You cannot beat the flexibility of setting your own schedule or working from home, but if you need a steady and reliable income, this is not the job for you. To this company, you are expendable. 

They make a lot of money off of benefit eligibility assessments as it's one of their main business units. Yet they pay the nurses who do these assessments $70 for potentially 3-4 hours of work.  Do not believe them when they say it should take 2 hours.  You would have to leave half of the assessment blank for it to take 2 hours and they have a high level of expectation with details.  No pay for office hours. For example, if you have an assessment scheduled and you are getting emails asking questions from an insurance policy holder, you are expected to answer them with no compensation.  If an insured cancels on you 10 minutes before or no shows, you don't get paid.  The CEO says at every quarterly meeting that they are working on getting nurses compensated for cancellations but nothing ever changes.

They hire per diem nurses to do onsite assessments but they don't tell them that they might only ever do 1 or 2 assessments.  If you don't live by a major city or populated area, don't expect to get regular work.  They are just using you because the insurance company requires an RN assessment and won't let it be completed virtually by their remote nurses. 


There was no help from the supervisor. Even after they offer help tell you to message them directly. You do and nothing. If they did answer it was hours later as if you need them anymore. Job was never clear. I was told to worry only about humana case management related issues and customer service. Anything else transfer out. I felt I learned nothing due to it was mostly do it yourself. Basically find it and figure it out. I asked to learn more didn't even get the chance. Got fired was never told why. Felt singled out too for being the ok only man in the team. Don't ask supervisors for help they don't like it. They get mad too if you bother them. It's basically you handle it or figure a way to get them to accept a call back. Which they never get. There's no over time ever. If you have power outages or wifi issues and a call drops due to that. Expect for that to count against you even if it's not your fault. Have a back up job cause the no communication is going to get to you trust me. 

You can work completely remote or work from the office, which offers a kitchen stocked with food and drink, awesome people, and a dog friendly environment. Super flexible, great work/ life balance. It's great if you like a team environment where everyone is working hard to meet goals and grow the company. I think the best part is that the work really helps seniors and the community. It's clear everyone cares and values their work. 

Hardest part of the job would be how quickly things are expanding and changing all the time. You get a lot of support, but it can be challenging. If you're an open and flexible type of person who likes to collaborate, this is the job for you. There's also a big potential for career advancement, promotions and raises. It's a great company.

Truly flexible scheduling is great. Pay is bad. There’s NO interview to get this job. They just give it to you. There’s no guidance, you’re thrown to the wolves. Been nearly two years and I’m unaware of any sort of hierarchy or management or supervisors. When I have issues, I really have no idea who to speak to. Pay is flat rate per assessment. Zoom assessments are supposed to take 90 minutes, but it rarely takes less than 2 hours, not counting prep work and finishing the assessments after the zoom ends. Meaning the flat rate is not a fair rate for the amount of time spent on these assessments. That being said, it’s still easy money that I can make from home. Also, this is a 1099 position, not a W2 position. I had to beg for my 1099 until March. They absolutely would NOT mail it out even though it couldn’t be accessed in the portal. 

The assessments are paid out a flat fee of $125 and often take a long time (2.5 to 4 hours) at the patient's home but then you have to complete your documentation at home, which could take an additional 2-4 hours to complete. All this does not include commute time and you are not reimbursed mileage. You are expected to be very detailed with your documentation which takes time but your pay does not reflect the amount of time it actually takes to complete one assessment from the time you leave your house to go to the assessment to the time you actually finish the documentation and hit submit. You can easily spend 8 hours total on one assessment for only $125. So when you break down what that equates to per hour, you can imagine. One assessment is a full day's work and should be paid as such. The nurse assessors should actually be paid around $300-$400 an assessment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
When I first got there it felt like a family and a supportive community. 

That however changed to people who only cared about their bottom line. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Will the clients can be stressful it was mainly the management that made things worse. If you weren’t one of their “favorites” they didn’t have time for you and made you feel horrible about yourself. Like you couldn’t never do anything wrong. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
When I first got there it was amazing. But after a year things changed. Management was only worried about their bottom line and they didn’t care about the individual worker or client just wanted to make sure the numbers were where they needed to be.

RN assessments are paid a flat fee of $125 for what is touted as a *90 minute assessment. Here's the catch...the assessments usually take MUCH longer. Factor in driving time when the radius of assessment location could be up to 35 miles away, or having to locate the patient's (often many) physicians info or complete a detailed med list at home, and it becomes a 6 hour day, easy. That = $21 an hour and no mileage reimbursement. I am good at assessments, so it could take others longer. Just be aware. This is not a 90 minutes assessment for $125. Upside: this is a job for RNs who are burnt out on hospitals and facilities. Downside: poor pay. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very enjoyable meeting the patients in their homes (ie residential homes, assisted living etc.).  Never have to travel far from home. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Sometimes it takes a while to reach someone at the office 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Pleasant culture.  No grumpy employees.  Everyone is so nice!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Receive the referral using a special app and then have to schedule a day/time to do the assessment with the caregiver/client.  After I assess the client using the app I then go home to complete the assessment (does not take long) and then I submit my assessment.
