Theoria Medical

Being a physician can be overwhelming, discouraging and overall lead to burn out because of so many things going on. Theoria does a great job at making all of the tasks that a medical director has to do on the daily easy and efficient. Huge technology base on everything, and I read some reviews about their technology having glitches, which I am not sure what is referenced, as they have a 24/7 tech support team and they also have providers working directly with the programmers, so glitchy is the last thing that comes to mind when I think about their technology.

Culturally, they hold everyone accountable. If you are a provider that is looking to just skate by, this is not the place for you. They want high quality physicians, PAs, and NPs, and they want the best for their patients. I read a few negative reviews here, and I can tell you that those are probably the same providers that had performance issues and were "weeded out" by Theoria. This is a place for providers that want to give their best everyday, and work with others that are passionate about what they do and are looking to change the current way of things.

Overall, great place to work, took a few weeks to get adjusted, but they were supportive and trained me for around 3-4 weeks, of which was paid, and pay is above average to high for the hours required.

The HR department is currently a mess, consistently resorting to threatening employees with sanctions and focusing on discussions about penalties and warnings. Employees feel disempowered and unacknowledged, contributing to widespread unhappiness. Obtaining leave is challenging, especially when it involves leaving before or after a weekend. Additionally, task requests in my department are often made just one hour before the end of the day, with the expectation of immediate completion. Some managers provide inadequate instructions yet rush employees to submit work, only to question missing information without initially specifying where to gather the required data.

The company enforces a 60-day notice period for all employees, including those in rank and file positions. This extended notice period contradicts the desire for a swift transition when individuals decide to leave the company. Furthermore, despite the impending departure, employees face threats if their performance during the notice period is deemed inadequate. This adds an additional layer of stress and tension during a time when individuals are already focused on transitioning out of the company. Such practices contribute to a negative work environment and hinder a smooth departure process for employees.

I had been an NP going on four years before joining the company. I felt this is the first job where I could work independently and get paid fairly. I could round and see patients independently without out being micromanaged by physician on their time. The physicians that work for the company are very collaborative and kind. The company uses a model that work to be efficient and productive to help improve care in nursing homes. I am very grateful to be a part of this culture change especially  during a pandemic. My previous job I got paid the same no matter how many patients I saw this company will pay you fairly based on your productivity. I have had opportunities to travel to new locations we have launched and having been involved in processes to help the company grow. They supply you with an iPad before you start and offer computer training in your own home. They use slack to communicate you never have to go to meetings in person. They use slack to communicate and there are channels in their you can post clinical questions where providers from all over the country give you feedback. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Perfect job for a nurse practitioner to work at the top of your license, provide optimal care for your patients with a dedicated support team. Excellent collaborative physicians who greatly respect the NPs and are readily available to provide guidance with complex cases. Very fulfilling job overall. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Satisfying the needs of individual leaders in the facility. This can be overcome by discussing differences as soon as they arise and working together on solutions. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly company culture. The company is all virtual, no in person meetings except online. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Check in with the leadership team, round with staff or alone to examine your patients. Enter orders. Check in again at end of the shift for any additional needs.

I've been with Theoria Medical for almost 2 years, and I must say, their commitment to providing excellent compensation is truly commendable. Working at Theoria has been an enriching experience that significantly enhanced my skills and knowledge. While the work itself is fulfilling, the nighttime hours can sometimes pose challenges in maintaining work-life balance and adjusting to a non-traditional schedule. However, for those able to accommodate this aspect, the overall experience at Theoria remains highly rewarding and fulfilling.

I’ve had an outstanding experience working at Theoria Medical. The work-from-home setup has been seamless, allowing for flexibility and a great work-life balance. The company's support in setting up a productive home office has been invaluable.
What truly stands out, though, is the collaborative and supportive team environment. Despite working remotely, my colleagues and managers are always available for brainstorming sessions, problem-solving, and general support. The sense of teamwork and mutual respect makes it easy to stay engaged and motivated.
Overall, Theoria Medical excels in providing a flexible working arrangement while fostering a strong sense of community and collaboration. I’m grateful to be part of such an innovative and caring organization.

Worked for them for 7 months. Lots of top down management for remote employees. No one available to answer questions or provide guidance. Could only communicate with them via filling out a form, which took at least 24 hours for a response, and which would receive only partial/superficial response. Once I provided my mandatory 6 months resignation, no communication re transition. I simply showed up for a scheduled shift and NH staff was surprised to see me because they had been told I was no longer employed. Required me to cover absent providers covering facilities 2 hours away. Paid for 1 shift per week, but required to be available 24/7.  Difficulty getting paid as promised. Declined to honor time off negotiated at hire. Frequent management changes but not communicated to staff. (3 HR directors over 6 months).

I've been with Theoria Medical for more than 2 years and I can confidently say that it's been an incredibly rewarding experience. Working at Theoria has been nothing short of amazing. From day one, I've been impressed by the company's commitment to excellence and innovation. The culture here is incredibly inclusive and supportive, with everyone working together towards common goals. The leadership team is inspiring and always encourages employees to think outside the box and push boundaries. What sets Theoria Medical apart is their dedication to employee development – there are endless opportunities for learning and growth, both personally and professionally. I'm proud to be a part of such a forward-thinking and dynamic company.

Theoria provides employees with opportunities to learn and challenges everyone to be their best in the workplace. It is much applaudable that they do not settle for mediocrity and has a competitive mindset to be above standards when it comes to providing patient care as well as the internal processes.

I am very happy & thankful to work here, and I just really hope that they will consider providing salary growth amongst employees, and bring back the old times where they regularly give tokens of appreciation during special occasions.
