Touching Hearts at Home

I worked for this company for a little under a year. Even though I left abruptly (basically fired without given reason; which legally they are allowed to do) I can still say many good things about the company…and very little bad. 
The management team and supervisors were pretty understanding and always seemed to be genuine. They always were willing to work with my schedule and had a fair system to monitor clocking in, call outs, requesting days a off etc. I loved the meetings that were held every now and then when employees were recognized for their hard work. It really makes you feel good as an employee. 

Only negative thing I can say is that it doesn’t offer pretty decent benefits…that was okay for me because it was a part time job. However, if you are relying on it for you primary source of income — it may be rough. I recall during a meeting there was an insurance representative who offered fairly reasonable priced insurance. So that is a start. 

I love how they put their clients needs first…that is really important in the healthcare industry. As a health care agent I would suggest that you document everything to protect yourself….because it will be your word against the client. And as a company, they will always side with the client even if they continuously lie on you or whatever the case may be. Some clients will be problematic, bitter, angry…some are sweet, loving and happy (all of this is normal) —just document everything you do on your behalf to protect yourself as a worker and individual. The last thing that you want is for your reputation to be scolded unfairly.

Overall it is a really nice agency to work for.

I enjoyed my time spent with clients and met some great team members in my 2 years with Touching Hearts! Overall it was a very positive environment and I enjoyed going to work everyday and caring for my clients like they were part of my family.
Unfortunately, i found that like many agencies management is honestly in it solely for the money and does not TRULY CARE about their staff or clients at the end of the day.
 All is good until you contact your supervisors for help and wait weeks for concerns to be addressed and resolved in a professional manner.  The executive director could use some training on how to better communicate with staff. She has been known to yell at staff and clients and has used some pretty bad choices of words for someone holding such a high title.  
    Upper management is no better they will always side with the client and believe me when I tell you the income is very inconsistent. Sadly disappointed but thankful for better opportunities!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The Owner, the Management Team when I worked there, Lots of support, & flexibility w scheduling.
But, I left over Not getting $1 raise, & have Not looked back. I have Learned So much from them, but I have Almost Doubled my pay after I got w 2  different other companies. They Are a GOOD Company!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Client’s families being Hyper Involved, from out of state, & Not in a good way.
The pay. Although w inflation, it has improved. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It used to be Great in 2019-2020. 
They Always got me clients Close to where I lived. They dealt w me taking the bus to work, when my car broke down. (I Still made it every day,) raises happened, till they didn’t, after 2 Managers quit, n a New Team took over.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I had a Main lady in Oakwood.
I worked 11:30-6:30😍!
We would go to hair appointments, run errands, and such. It was Wonderful. 
I made her 3 meals a day, I read her the newspaper, we watched CNN, & Hallmark. 
We gardened,  we talked, we walked,when it was warm. Her neighbor was the Wright Brothers house😳❤️!!
I took care of her Every want/need. 
5 days a week😊!

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part about working for this company is the honor to be able to help the elderly.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I really don’t feel that there was a stressful part in working for this company.
I loved my job with this company and was sad when I left the company, due to my moving out of state for a certain amount of times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was at times versatile. I thrive on that, so that was an excellent fit for me.
The management was excellent and very caring for not only the clients, but the employees as well.
The culture was calm, organized, helpful, understanding, jovial and flexible.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typically day for me while working for this company was one of peace and fulfillment.
Taking care of others was the main purpose during any work day. However, doing that with compassion and patience was a standard of which I respected.

The best part of of working with the company was the clients. I actually enjoyed working one on one with them. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part about working at the company for me was the miscommunication with the staff. They did not communicate with one another in a timely manner.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment with the staff at the company seemed secretive and all over the place. They didn't share valuable information of the client information and expected you to accept and just fake your personality just to get throughout the shift.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me at the company didn't exist I personally worked with the clients.

I enjoyed working with the clients and the flexability but communication with the office was stressful. Bridget will make you feel like an idiot for anything you talk to her about. Brenda and Shannon were nice. I always dreaded getting Bridget on the phone. Shes very fake. Also the $220 a day is a joke. It comes out to be about $9 an hour because they will not pay for breaks or "sleep time" but they want you there 5 days in a row. You will make more not doing live in care.  Its a great job for flexibility but there are no benefits. Also any time I went to the office with a concern about they client they didn't seem to care. It was very frustraing as I gained relationships with these clients and to watch some of things happening with them that I couldn't help even when I tried. 

Working with the clients at Touching hearts at home was amazing.  I learned to care more about my elders than ever before, working one on one, the conversations and time spent was well worth it.  Management isn’t the greatest, but thankfully you don’t really have to deal with them or see them.  This is not the place for you, if you have children in sports, a strong family/friends bonds, or bills, because scheduling is inconsistent, and clients can let you go with a days notice, leaving you with unexpected short checks or no checks.  The hardest part of the job is watching someone you care for suffer and not be able to do anything for them, because it’s their absent families decisions that matter.  The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting people from different paths in life and making memories with them.

Owners are very comfortable to work with. Benefits area plus.
Safe work environments. Work as much as you want!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The only difficulty is if you have a question or a problem and you do nothing to get help.

Help is only a phone call or text message away.

This is helping seniors stay at home. You help them do the things that they need help doing and a daily basis.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Your work schedule is worked through the company schedulers.  You are sent to homes to help a male or female with their daily tasks.  Once you have completed your day you go home.

Management in the office is too busy to pay attention to details with their employees. Also, no guarantee  hours!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?

They have a system where they put out a mass email to whoever’s working or whoever’s not working whatever is available and first come first serve without any information information just time and day

Lots of favoritism . You can go months on without even meeting anybody.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work and go home. And hope that you have worked the next day

They have a nice office personnel.  Also great clients

Waiting for your backup or your replacement

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You working individual homes so the environmental culture is whatever they household makes it to be but I have not had any environmental or cultural clashes with any of my clients

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
They assign you a client you go to the client and provide whatever assistance there they need with their day-to-day living activities or you might just drive them to their doctor appointments or whatever appointments pretty stress-free
