If you are in sales or an engineer, this may be a good company for you! For anyone else that is in a supporting role such as finance or supply chain, AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Management is extremely biased and unprofessional. There was much favoritism, workplace gossip, passive aggressive insulting and criticism, and overall disparity in compensation and advancement of the employees. I personally worked in their logistics department in conjunction with their order management and the manager is extremely unfit for the role. When I raised concerns of the treatment we were receiving under her, I was told HR will do nothing and may even fire me for speaking up! I have heard multiple complaints from employees regarding their mental health such as their therapist identified Trend Micro as a major contributor to their depression, that their doctor has increased their anxiety medicine dosage due to the toxicity at work, they have cried due to the mean things said about them, etc. As an intern you receive 0 benefits and no paid time off despite working 40+ hours a week. I was told 3 months into my internship I would be promoted. 9 Months later I was still an intern. I myself cried during a performance review once due to the extreme stress I had been working under and the reasons my manager was listing to not promote me (all based on workplace gossip). My physical health began to deteriorate and after seeking medical help I knew I had to leave this incredibly distressing department/job. I do NOT recommend working for Trend whatsoever if you are not an engineer or in sales. Even in those roles, I have heard similar sentiments regarding the culture and the lack of professionalism in management. To this day I hear from former peers that are still at the company asking for recommendations or any opportunities that I can help them with so they can get away from the extremely toxic environment that exists in the Trend Micro Irving office. I now make almost $30k more at my current role than I did at Trend all within a year of leaving that place. PLEASE DO WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU! This company does not care about its employees whatsoever.

I have been with this company for about 18 months. I had several former colleagues or friends who came over as much as 7 years ago and are very happy. 
The benefits, while not the best, are better than most. Bonuses twice a year and annual raises. Plenty of vacation time compared to what I had been seeing. 
My management are my friends and very supportive of what I do and helping me get where I am trying to go.

For those who are dismissing this company saying that it is low paying and only good for fresh graduates, well fresh graduates are should not expect to earn great pay from the start. Stay awhile and prove yourself. I have seen that happen here at Trend and those young adults are making great salaries now.

I had a great time working at Trend Micro, but at moments it was very stressful dealing with angry customers or trying to manage who gets access to the building. Trend Micro will have to be notified by the facility manager, if any visitors will be trying to access the building. At times we would have to turn vendors or people away because we were not informed about it. Trend Micro wants to keep a safe environment and make sure no strangers have access. Since I work in the front desk alone, it was very quiet and majority of the time I would transfer calls. Some days I would get angry callers, but as always I would stay calm and stay professional. Only once I was threaten on the phone, but I knew it's normal.

The employee at Trend Micro were very kind and always treated me with respect. If I had trouble with anything at all, someone would help me right away with my situation. 

I loved their coffee & bagel day and Birthday cake day which is celebrated once a month.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Very knowledgeable and nice people

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The "tribal knowledge" that was not written anywhere and the contradictory or counterintuitive statements in the documentation. Also, having DevOps that feel as though they are better than you rather than constructively trying to assist people to empower themselves by teaching and helping with Tech debt. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
They treat their employees like mushrooms. They want to be taken seriously as cloud service provider yet they have not even changed their pricing structure. How can a company claim to be as successful as they are yet lay-off people unnecessarily out of fear.

The company is great for someone in the earlier stages of their career. The pay will be higher than most companies offer and theres so many options to further your knowledge taking training or working hard learning products. It will definitely keep you busy. However, if you're later in your career and you're chasing money first knowledge second this may not be a good place for you. Raises are rare but are given out yearly but doesn't match the market compensation. So, a lot of people here tend to leave for more money after a year or two. The company has real potential to be even better if they gave bigger raises to employees to make them stay. But such is life. Great company, great culture, good people but the raises are not so good.

This diversity enhances the culture and makes this an organization that people want to be a part of. TrendMicro likes to have fun while taking their culture seriously. They believe in giving back to the global community.

The company has great benefits and they pay well compared to the market for my assign territory. 

But there is a big gap in communication and lack of leadership. We have two managers and they tend to provide different paths to follow. It's not a sales organization so the basics of expectations or account controls don't exist. The Sales Director is a good guy but is not a sales person and is confuse as where to provide support. Honestly I feel it's very sad as the products are great with interest from end users in purchasing them.

The only con I had was the long drive in the morning. Other than that, once I got to work I would have a talk with my boss to see what possibilities I could do around the office. I didn't know what career path I want to follow so my boss and I did many tasks from coding in android to ruby on rails. I also made presentations to talk about their products and had to present to the whole office just like a normal  corporate presentation. I also jumped in on calls with large corporations and tagged along to important meetings.

I was hired into a program that I do not think was appropriately developed yet. The position was inaccurately described, and this ultimately lead me to apply for a job I had no business applying for. There are a ton of perks at working at Trend Micro. Many of the employees are fun and friendly. There is always free food, and at first glance Trend is a great company to work for.. It did not work out for me, but I would not totally dismiss them.

Trend Micro has a friendly, collaborative culture, however majority of decisions are made by the CEO, and work/life balance is a challenge. They constantly change and re-org, they don't spend a lot on marketing so brand awareness is virtually non-existent outside of Japan. The people are generally very nice but it's a tough industry in which they compete. Lots of players fighting for market share.
