- I learned the fundamentals of closing frequent sales on the phone and key terms to what drives business
- Workplace can be very stiff.
- No culture, just need to get right to work as soon as you arrive
- Although sales goals can be very realistic, they are kept within management; they are not told to the sales team as there is no revenue goals, the only goals given to the sales team is to stay in the positive when it comes to revenue and share of requirements
- Bonus structures change every month and are not stable which can throw you off.
- Success is expected and not very much rewarded.
- Overall, a very bittersweet position.

A company that wants to be something they will never be with the current poor leadership. Overlooked for promotions no matter how deserving unless you knew someone from leadership prior to starting. Company does not come close to paying industry averages making it a job, not a career. They don’t appreciate effort, hard work, or results. They promote those who drive zero results at even the highest levels causing good employees out of the company. Hamster wheel.

Lack of senior leadership and accountability

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nonexistent…Zero respect for hard work and dedication. Total cover your self and zero communication culture

When interviewed they said you NEED to make 10 visits a day mandatory but can have 'time out of the field when necessary."  But a few weeks in they mandated 12 visits a day and ZERO available time out of the field. SO if you have a life outside of work the minimum visits per day keeps adding up for the whole quarter. Then the sales manager follows you around and checks everything you do, and if they find any discrepancies , you are fired.

The people are great to work with. Understanding management and down to earth expectations. Benefits and pay are great. Attendance bonus available. There are several shifts available. The company is great for parents. Generous paid time off. 

Turning Point Brands is a company that seems to be making great headway into the vaping industry.  I worked for them briefly after they acquired the company I worked for. All of the employees are great, and it could definitely feel like a family if you work there long enough.

On the company website they say the following "We are always on the hunt for highly qualified candidates to bring their talents and join our team" but when they do offer you a job someone not involved in the hiring process will come in and pull the rug out from under you. Watch out for this company they have no ethical backbone.

Focus changes drastically each quarter

Lots of cold calling.

Turning Point Brands was a fast paced and exciting environment with some amazing people to work with. Though management can be disorganized at times, they do provide you with opportunities to grow with the company and work with one of the leaders in their industry.

Managers are not leaders. They handicap their employees by not trusting them to do good work. Culture is nonexistent and more concerned with production and making money vs taking care of their employees.
