This started off with lies in the interview and at orientation. Stated hours were 8-4:30 and then in training said employees had to work 8:30-5. 4:30-5 was for those last minute calls which ended up being mostly new employees working who couldn't answer patients questions and no one was there to help. Supposed to be at least 3 weeks of training but at the end of the first week trainees were already being questioned if they were ok to go on calls alone.  Told that if you felt you needed more training you could definitely have it but never had the opportunity and were "thrown to the wolves". Was never told we needed to know medical terminology and knowledge of some diseases. Also told to use a team chat to get answers when needed but half the time never a response or it was 30 minutes later. The patient isn't on the phone anymore after that length of time. Said we could work from home every other weekend and during inclement weather. In 8 months I worked from home 1 day and during inclement weather was told I couldn't work from home and had to use PTO. Then at a meeting we were told we needed to manage our PTO better. Also informed how the company more than doubled profit in the last year and expected to do even better in the following year. When asked about employees benefiting from that they were told nope, that's going into expansion. But thank you all for helping us get here. Pay is horrible for doing 4-5 different stressful jobs. I was told it's a call center just scheduling appointments but it's more like scheduler, secretary, mediator, insurance agent, and therapist. Never enough doctors to schedule with and patients very upset. I would stay clear.

I have never worked some place so toxic in my entire life, every aspect of this workplace is mismanaged. As an employee expect to be treated like a number not a person, expect to never be able to miss work even if you are in the ER during work hours, expect however your supervisor will be able to leave whenever they want with no notice. Expect poor pay and hardly any raises. The workplace culture is toxic. Expect to be treated so poorly that your health begins to decline. Everyday I drove to work I wondered if I should drive off the bridge I cross over every morning just to get out of having to be there. The environment is also filthy, restrooms are always in use so you will have to walk down the hall to use the public one. They only care about patients that are "friends" of the doctors, the other patients they could care less about. The phone system is a disaster, but upper management does not seem to mind unless they get a complaint from the docs friends. My favorite part of my job was when I got written up for being in the emergency room sick during the work day, and then later that week for the 13th time that month my supervisor just left because who knows why. The ongoing joke in the office was how many times she would leave early that month, meanwhile everyone else gets a write up. If all of that seems enjoyable then you should totally apply to work here. 

US Digestive Health has been one of the most unorganized companies I have worked for. When I first started working here I was told their core values are integrity, success, partnership, and respect which was not entirely true. The pay does not match the amount of work you are given. Poor raises are given if they even decide to give you one. The company is so unorganized they can’t even manage the practices and employees they currently have now.  Management, supervisors, and leadership do such a poor job at training and being there for their employees. You are barely trained and then thrown into your position with no training manuals, reference sheets, etc. You have to learn everything on your own or from your peers who themselves don’t even know what they’re doing because lack of training. Communication from management is horrible and they keep you in the dark most of the time. There have been plenty of supervisors who stepped down or left because there is no work life balance. I’ve witnessed leadership verbally disrespect another employee, as well as a bunch of unnecessary drama between employees. When trying to report issues to HR, poor responses are given and leadership/management neglects the issues employees are having instead of helping to solve them. This is not a place I would recommend working for.

I enjoyed caring for my patients and helping them. I liked my coworkers. The issue is the company that bought the practice and their policies. It seems like they are unfair towards the staff that are not medical professionals (reception, medical records, etc). They're very quick to write up people and I saw multiple people get fired. The USDH policies are very strict and unforgiving. If you are sick, you will be written up even if you have a note. A majority of the staff are very unhappy. Management is mostly uninvolved and unhelpful. Infusion nurses are told to do things one way, but that doesn't follow the policies written by USDH. This makes me uncomfortable as a nurse and reaching out to the necessary management to get this fixed goes nowhere. Many emails and questions went unanswered or given such a vague answer that the question isn't answered with no clarification provided. More than once I was told to figure it out for myself. USDH seems to care more about revenue than actually caring for patients. 

Truly one of the worst jobs I have ever had the displeasure of having.

Starting pay is terrible and raises are insulting. They will bring people in with less experience at a higher rate of pay due to inflation. Does inflation not affect your existing workers who have been with you for years?

They are just filling seats with anyone capable of filling out an application. Meaning the majority of people you are working with are incompetent even after years of employment. Management does nothing to fix this, they just expect the hard working people to pick up the slack. You will NOT see this reflected in your pay.

Favorites are played by management. Inconsistent rules. Poorly defined roles. Horrible scheduling system in which we were told to inform our patients "try calling in another few weeks" for months at a time waiting for the schedule to be finalized. 

You will be paid like trash, overworked, and have your complaints ignored by management. The best thing I ever did here was quit. 

HR and management encourage you to go to them with any problems. But if the problem stems from one of their *favorites* nothing will be done about it. There is no communication with any of the departments. Rules don't apply to certain people in the work environment and there are obvious favorites. They were "live" at my location for less than 9weeks and they have rotated through so much staff because of how terrible it is. People at my location that worked there for 10+ years left because USDH took over and doesn't care about anything except filling appointment slots. If you're one of the managers favorites you can get away with delaying patient care. But if you're not and it's taking more than two days to complete a task that you are actively working on you will get talked to about "delaying patient care". HR doesn't care. Management doesn't care. And the doctors can't do anything to help because you get told off for talking to the doctors when they ask you about concerns. 

Very daunting workplace. Every aspect is poorly managed and patient care is put on the backburner. Management is more concerned with employee drama than actual problems pertaining to patient care. Management is so unprofessional and immature. They do not treat their employees well at all, and do not care about you as a person. There are clear favorites and if you find yourself not in that category then you will most likely have a hard time working here. Turnover is constant, everyone is always looking for another job elsewhere- including myself. I have not met one employee who enjoyed working here. This is the worst experience I've ever had in the workplace, I wish I had seen the red flags earlier and taken another position. 

Work life balance could be better, but overtime is seemingly unlimited yet hardly necessary. A typical day at work can be overwhelming if you do not communicate with the doctors and other providers to find a balance that works for everyone. A lot is asked of certain positions but management makes that clear during the hiring process. This is a busy practice, but has potential to be rewarding as a patient advocate. Co-workers are easy to talk to and the company has a strict "no drama" policy, which is also made clear during the onboarding process. In order to have a bad experience here you have to be looking for one. 10/10 company I love it here. 

You are completely overworked and underpaid. If you’re not a favorite employee be prepared to get treated like dirt.  The pay is horrible, I left stressed out and worked up everyday. They work the secretaries like dogs and expect them to do everything they can to make things happen. Pay is terrible. After telling HR about numerous other issues in the office and other secretaries being late constantly, talking stuff about patients in front of other patients, stating loudly why they won’t answer the phone, HR did nothing. Nor did they care. Good luck if you work here, race also seems to be an issue.

I’m sure this is variable by location, but in my experience, this office’s politics are the practice’s kryptonite. At this location,  “favorites” are made obvious by management and the support staff retention is a swinging door if you don’t fit in with the clique culture. Gossip is the normal, the handling of patient scheduling is atrocious,  and the sense of teamwork continually disintegrated in the time I was there. Pay and benefits are also below average.
