Only worked there for two months, unfortunately. Second week of being employed, a class was held based on harassment, bullying, what’s allowed in the work environment & what happens when a report is made to HR as to both individuals have the right to speak, explain & ask questions if desired to. To my surprise, one day after my lunch break I received a call from the conference room. I was completely unaware of the situation. I was completely set up. The head of my department was present, HR and the manager. I was asked if I ever made such comment as to “Puerto Ricans and Dominicans should stick together”. I don’t remember making such comment. I was unable to speak, give reason, ask questions or anything in fact. I was told “There are no preferences. We’re not here to make clicks or friends. We’re here to work.” I felt uncomfortable and disrespected. A day after, all three approached me asking me how I was feeling with smirks/grin. I decided that everything was handled unprofessionally, so I contacted HR to reschedule another meeting. The meeting was scheduled 2 days after the surprise meeting was made. I clarified I felt offended, falsely accused without any given evidence of the situation. Their excuse was that I have been making too many mistakes and so they had to let me go. Although, they forgot that who had trained me was someone who was on 3 months of probation, as I was starting. I have physical evidence I was doing my job correctly and that the person who trained me, once made a mistake with my assigned aide and patient. As to where, we were confronted by email. I contacted both patient and aide once more to confirm. Funny thing was the coworker who trained me being on 3 months of probation, sat beside me in our cubicles. I felt violated. I felt discriminated.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people, everyone is very friendly and always happy and willing to help! The culture and diversity of the office is one of the greatest things Ultimate Care has! 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management; most managers are only focused on what benefits the agency and forget that their employees are the ones who keep the business going. They fail to listen to feedback from their employees and enforce their policies and practices resulting in poo retention of their valuable and reliable employees.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
While the overall culture among peers is positive, respectful, and low-conflict, the dynamic between employees and management has increasingly presented challenges that are negatively impacting the work environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Prior to the recent changes in policies, procedures, and management, the work environment was highly proactive and productive. Communication was consistent, feedback was encouraged, and tasks were clearly and effectively delegated. However, under the current management structure, these practices are no longer evident. Expectations are unclear, communication has diminished, and feedback or employee input does not appear to be encouraged.

This experience has been life changing, working with Ultimate Care has taught me so much about life and myself. I will truly miss working for this company. I have never felt like I was going to work more like visiting a relative or family friend. Any problems or questions I had, my coordinators would assist me with no problems. If I had to call out of work for any reason, they were truly understanding. I was able to get paid time off for sick days or vacation time. Eye, dental and health insurance. I did not have to spend money for transportation because they provided metro cards. During the 2 years I worked here I received 3 raises in pay. Everyone here is like family, they aren’t rude to me. Everyone respects one another and we halo each other. The coordinators and home health aides work hand in hand to accommodate each other. Working this job I was able to open and maintain a lengthy bank account, I was able to save up and move to a different state, I was able to grow. When businesses treat their employees good they will succeed. This is a true statement. Ultimate Care taught me not to settle for less when it comes to working for companies. If a company does not meet my standards I won’t even waste my time!

A typical day starts at 7am. I do cleaning in the kitchen, bathroom, living and bed rooms of patient when he wakes up. This is followed by preparation of breakfast and then laundry and grocery shopping follows. I accompany patient to medical appointments very early on days that such appointments are scheduled and undertake other chores when we return. I learned that each patient has his/her peculiar care needs and it's important to be flexible in the discharge of my duties. 
Management exhibited patience, concern and resourcefulness while co-workers were dutiful and time conscious.
The most difficult part of the job was refusing to meet patient's request for care outside of the plan of care while the most enjoyable part was seeing my patient satisfied with the work i did.

I can honestly say I like my job. I clock in, sit at my desk and my brain begins moving. This is a different aspect in health care that I'm learning and it requires me to be a bit more detail orientated but so what, challenge accepted! I enjoy the trouble shooting, multitasking and the great people showing the way. Of course it has its difficult moments where things may happen like deadlines not being met but those are also the challenges I enjoy. Management has been very fair and supportive. I plan to stick around and gain my knowledge. Its pretty fast paced so before you know it, you day is over!

I've been working in the office for years now and have seen the company grow and grow. The management follows an open door policy. The staff are diverse and friendly. The home care field requires you to be able to multi-task and be responsible, but if you work hard you will get rewarded. The company goes to great lengths to make sure the patients are safe and happy, which translates to happy employees.

The company is fully accredited by the DOH and The Joint Commission - they work hard and they do everything by the book. I would bet that this company will survive the apocalypse.

This company is unorganized and unstructured. From the moment I began working here I created standard operating procedures, assisted outside of my role, and used google to learn to do my job. Was never compensated for company expenses after turning in receipts. Managers show favoritism with unequal pay, benefits, and flexibility between employees. If you have a discrepancy in pay and reach out no one will get back to you, and they do not communicate on their own. If you have any issue with the job, they will gaslight, will not support or help you. They do not pay out PTO, workload is uneven between employees, and constant turnover.

Coordinators, do not call the aides to inform them about missing timesheets. there is favoritism in the office. aides are not treated with respect, aides are blind-sighted and left stuck on cases.  Supplies are not mailed out to the aides. The aides are not paid for time and a half for holidays. The aides only get 15 minutes for their travel time for a call out from a patient. HR dept does help the coordinators or the aides. There is a lot of backstabbing that goes on in the company and is not corrected. Also if you try to look out for someone's best interest, you get reprimanded. Overall the company does not look out for the best interest of the workers.

Don't be tricked by the company flyers everything is conditional. Working as a PCA/HHA they say you get paid 19 dollars but it's really 15 - They use the 5 dollars to "pay" for benefits that isn't even good, nor is it really even coverage (You won't know until you ask). So your not really covered.

1000/500 dollar sign on bonus - Your not seeing that till you put in at least 200 hours...and they break it up into halves. You never get it all in one shot.

Coordinators will send you to places where patient isn't living at anymore. They will take days to rectify the situation.

The apps they use are buggy and don't work well.
