A typical day at work allows me 10 minutes before logging in which is not enough time. Two monitors are required for the many softwares, portals, documents to do the job, such as the documentation portal itself, a FDA regulated safety activity portal, a copay portal, the main site webpage, the prescribing information site, scripts for Outbound calls, scripts for replacement request processes, scripts for mechanism of action. Some programs open with Internet Explorer but others only open with Mozilla Firefox, and just recently Microsoft Chrome has been installed so everyone's workstation does not look or operate the same as another. There are 3 supervisors and 2 "team lead" nurses who cannot disseminate important process changes accurately due to miscommunications. Orientation is spotty at best, very rushed, and new hires do not feel ready for live calls. Quality assurance department grades every call, criticism is disciplinary vs constructive, affecting employee morale negatively. The hardest part of the job is having to investigate a patient's chart before making a call to correct a previous newer nurse's documentation. Many duplicate calls are created so patients can get calls twice a day which angers the client. This company is under a contract for a very large pharmaceutical sales company and enforces a very strict quantity versus quality approach so nurses have been told to "keep the calls short" which means rushing through a call and not being able to give 100% attention to the patient needs because the company is so focused on numbers and statistics. I would never recommend anyone work here. The most enjoyable part of the job is possible opportunity to work from home

Long hours of sitting entering data. Not very challenging for someone with a college degree. Overall job was nothing but data entry. Very tedious. However, your mistakes were held over you like you were screwing up during open heart surgery. Promotions only applied to those who brown-nosed. Any other hard working employee was either terminated for data entry errors or other lame excuses that were made up day to day. No grace period for clocking in or out. If your shift started at 8am, you are late at 8:01am, Even if you were at your desk at 7:55am and the time clock on your computer was slow registering your time. Attendance was on a point system. Half a point for every time you are late, 1 point for every day you call in. If you collect 12 points before the yr is up, it is automatic termination. Yes, your points stayed for 365 days. Very easy to get 3 points in a 6 mth period which is a write-up. Depending on who your supervisor is, determined if your points were not recorded for being 1 minute late. Nothing hard about the job. Nothing really enjoyable. Co-workers were on edge most of the time due to the ridiculous company policies. Everybody had a reason to be concerned about the security of their job except for the ones who hung out with the administrator and manager during lunch. As long as they documented all of your easily fixed mistakes in secret emails to the administrator all on their end was well. If interested in this company, have a part-time job just in case. Unless you plan to be a brown-noser.

The whole time I worked there everyone was working remotely. I was on a small team with a newlyish promoted manager. The team was really nice, the manager was really nice, everything was super accommodating, and the benefits were outstanding. Vision, dental, health (all good plans), $14 an hour, and starting out 150 hours of PTO. I worked there for 10 months and took 120 hours of PTO as I earned it. It was a good job with great benefits, but the work was so boring and repetitive. There were no real requirements to work hard besides knowing other team members will pick up the slack. This lead to a couple people literally never doing anything, a couple people firmly doing what was required of them (which is good), but then also a couple people overworking to compensate for the people not doing anything. The benefits are fantastic, but I was so bored and dissatisfied with the work that I left several months ago. I may come crawling back someday lol I was coming from a job I absolutely loved so it was a shock to do something boring. It definitely is a good place to work.

United BioSource Corporation provides an excellent environment to improve skills required to be successful in the pharmaceutical support services industry. While the ability to learn new skills is available, the company struggles with the inability to implement a positive atmosphere for the employees. The lack of fostering a positive work environment causes the focus of the business to struggle occasionally. United BioSource Corporation has a business model that may prevent adequate care being provided to the patient while redirecting efforts to meet contractual obligations with a client. If you are seeking to enhance your abilities within the healthcare industry, United BioSource Corporation can provide that opportunity. Advancing your career may require an employee to eventually part ways with UBC, but you will be able to take valuable skills and knowledge with you.

The pay is decent. There is a huge amount of information that has to be learned and a ton of tests that must be passed on a continuous basis. Co-workers are supportive and helpful but management gives different answers to everyone. The rules change frequently and are unnecessarily complex. You are micromanaged with management monitoring your every moment. You are not allowed to give nursing advice to patients or say anything you can not find printed in the materials produced by the manufacturer. Your calls are scored very strictly and the score is subjective based on who scores it. If you do not score high enough you will be fired. They have a very high turn-over. The insurance is expensive and has a high deductible. They do provide a fair amount of PTO but they do not let you use it the way you would like and if you don't use it by the end of the year you lose it.  You do get paid holidays and an annual bonus. 

This is a typical office with major systemic IT flaws that go unaddressed so they need constant support. They promised maybe a day of shipping on average per week, knowing full well most weeks entail 4 days in office of shipping out products. This is really half an IT Engineer job and half a logistics and shipping job. 

My second manager was excellent but the bulk of the time I was there I was under a man who proudly claimed he was a bad manager and doesn't like managing. This meant quite a lot of needless stress and anxiety for me in this role. 

The team is very exclusionary and will have no problem ostracizing a qualified tech due to personal political gripes, including withholding training on their systems.

They pay very well for what the job entails so if you are good at managing headaches you can make good money for the role.

Don't be fooled by the title "Sr. Reimbursement Specialist". This is fancy name for "Customer Service Representative". I took this job thinking I wouldn't be in a call center environment, and this is ALL this is. You are working in an INBOUND CALL CENTER answering phones ALONG with working faxes. The managers only care about the phone calls. You can have 1,000,000 faxes, but you won't be allowed to work them because they only want you on the phone. The management is unorganized and unsure. I hate my job. Everyday, I wish I could just walk out and quit. I would only accept this position if you're desperately needing employment and you don't mind being fired if your program ends. Yes, you could lose your job if the "clients" decide to pull the plug on their contract with the company. The pay is great and so are the benefits, but the stress that comes along with it, it's not worth the headache.

At first seems you are important and will be able to actually help people. then they change your role and make unrealistic demands such as meeting a quota all while taking inbound calls related to other case managers cases and you can not pass it to them you have to now work it as your own all while  having your own dashboard. the micro mangement is out of control and their rules and expectations are constantly changing based on what the client wants. there is no winning. Many patients dont get the help they need because of the disaster of limitations the Client puts on you. You can only make calls to insurance plans for info, can not use any portals. And when you try to make any suggestions for improvment they shut you down. I was told I am paid to work not think. 

UBC when it was Express Scripts a was a great place to call work. Now you’re over worked and under paid. So many employees have quit and instead of UBC rehiring more help they just pile more work on current employees. The benefits are great. Pay is not enough for all that you do. The bonuses are a complete joke. You’ll get more working at McDonalds. Management are horrible and will hide from you when you need help. You’ll never get any promotions unless you’re a favorite or a company snitch. All the Managers, Supervisors and Directors are friends so if you have a concern about your leader just keep it to yourself cause no one cares at UBC. You’re just a number. If you’re just needing a job to cover bills at the moment then apply but for future Career opportunities please pass this one up. You’ll never get any promotion because they only promote the snitches or their friends. 

What you hear in an interview for a position at UBC will almost certainly not reflect the actual employment experience in this organization.  Your co-workers will most likely be supportive.  Senior leaders here have worked together for many years and are often cliquish and lack openness to ideas coming from anywhere outside of their small and unchanging core group, which often results in misguided decisions, and a lack of insight/responsivenes, even when it is clear the Titanic is about to sink.  This approach has propagated an organizational culture where problems are handled covertly, if at all, and where missteps cannot be openly acknowledged, and therefore growth is impossible.  If you must work here, it should be for the purpose of moving toward a next opportunity, and please be sure to have a solid exit strategy fully prepared.
