First off Ventra is a great company. The Fort Worth office employees and other department managers are kind, hilarious, and always eager to help. 
This is only for if your entering the payment department with the current manager. 
This Manager makes promises and never follows through. That promise to work from home after 90 days only a lie to get you hired. Do not fall for it. I did. OR get it in writing, I didn’t! (Rookie mistake)
You will be expected to work overtime every end of the month because you need time to finish the work you couldn’t do within your normal 8 hours because you are so over worked. Expect random projects to be thrown at you with all that extra time you have on your hands. Just kidding you’ll be expected to work even more overtime to finish this project. 
All of this with NO training. The manager refuses to let anyone train you but themselves. Your training will consist of sitting next to the manager at their desk while you watch them participate in zoom meetings that are irrelevant to your job. If your lucky enough to learn a bit about your job it will be in small bits because the manager cannot go from A to Z but instead is like the dog from the movie up - SQUIRREL. Or in other words is easily distracted. Manager has no time management skills and doesn’t delegate work to others to make time to train new employees. Also what you do learn from that manager is absolutely incorrect. I had to advocate for myself and demand training from an employee other than the manager to get me trained correctly. The list can go on but these are the main issues.

I was hired as a Contract employee for at least one year.  About a month and a half into my job, I was offered a full-time position with Ventra.  I was happy to be joining a company that was moving  forward in a positive way. With new Management creating a positive workplace and changing the culture to make it a great place to work. But that being said, just like every other company it isn't perfect.  I feel like everyone is so serious all the time. While I take my job very serious, and conduct myself in a professional way, I also know that I need to be myself, which is lighthearted and like to laugh, smile and not be so serious all the time. 
I have a Manager that is very supportive and will stop what she is doing when I have questions or need her opinion on something. That is to be respected.
Everyone at Ventra is happy to help with any questions or concerns and I like that.  
I'm the type of person that if I'm not happy at my job, it doesn't matter what I'm being paid I will not stay.  Not being happy at work spills over into my personal life, so it's very important that my work life is a good experience.  And so far working here has been a wonderful experience.  I love my job and I'm very happy here.  And every day I let the candidates I speak with know Ventra is a good place to work and grow with. If you're considering coming work here you should not think of it as a job, but more like a career that you can learn and grow with and if you stay long enough....retire with!  

I work from home but do have options to come into the office if pre-planned with a supervisor. I enjoy my position and learn new and different tools to complete my job constantly. The management is pretty great from my experience. My manager is pretty amazing and so are his bosses. There is only one that is nit-picky but not bad to work with. I cannot fairly rate the work culture as I do not work in the office and do not attend the office festivities. There is no hard part about my role other than sometimes enrollments change and you have to research how to successfully enroll a payer. The most enjoyable part of my job is the job itself. It is easy to do. I had little training for one week due to being a newer department, but my boss is understanding and helps out tremendously. My coworkers are amazing and we all help each other. The only downfall is not giving bonuses and raises like what I am used to in a previous company I worked in. I have received a $0.51 raise in a total of 3 years I worked for them. I was understanding at first due to COVID and merging with the company. But within this last year, I was very disappointed. With inflation in our economy, a $0.51 raise in 3 years does not help me take care of my household. I am not sure if others have this same experience and hopefully they do not. That is the only flaw I can provide based on my experience working here.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Where the company is at currently, there is no good part of working for Ventra. Is it stressful and the treatment is demeaning by direct managers as well as upper management. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything, the workload is unmanageable, the expectations are unrealistic, and management is clueless of what their own job entails. Because they don't know their own basic job function/duties, their stress and anxiety is shared with everyone that work for them. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, demeaning and have perfected the art of mismanagement. They took a viable company, with loyal employees, and pillaged it for their own selfish gain. Shipping 95% of the workforce overseas and then set them loose to wreck havoc on successful accounts. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wondering what demeaning emails I will find in my inbox. Stressing about how issues will be resolved without help from management. Worrying about whether tasks will be done properly when details instructions are ignored. Repeating yourself all day everyday, reiterating the same mistakes are being made even with detailed instructions are supplied.

Much of of the work is outsourced to different countries for this company to keep costs low. This still does not allow for acceptable pay for all of the work that will be required of you, especially if you are apart of management. Company has gone through many mergers and lots of manager turn over. Very disheartening to want to succeed and do well but have no direction or clear goals outlined. The lack of communication between upper management really makes it difficult to relay tasks to fellow team members. Working for this company for 10 years taught me how to set boundaries so that I could find a company that respected those boundaries and didn't expect me to ALWAYS work 10/12 hour days and even take work home with me. Senior members of management that had been with the company for 5+ years would just poof and be gone, requiring other just step up on a moments notice without any assistance how to manage their own work load in addition to what was just added to their plate. Very unorganized even with day to day tasks. No annual raises or bonus's let alone individual reviews on your performance. 

You are expected to pull in over time to figure out what your supposed to learn and when you mess up and random people you don’t know  are emailing you getting upset at you expecting you to know what to get done.  It’s incredibly childish here  and HR just defends management with the way the manager treats you. I have had to watch a Sr. Employee be talked down to because the manager doesn’t like them for whatever reason. They also promise things and goes back on those promises, or even better tell you that they’ve never promised that.I enjoy coming into a place to work and get the job done and the managers/hr will never make that happen. They are unorganized and talk down to people when things aren’t happening the way they’d like. Many including my self have asked to have a clear expectation of what’s expected and nothing is actually done. It’s so frustrating cause it can be such an easy job and the employees are so nice, it’s just the management that they’ve put in this department is going to drive you away!

Its a job. No advancement opportunities, No  growth. Off site mgmt. Most depts are production based. Employees dont have career plan and positive support from their mid mgmt and directors. Negative feedback and blame is always given when the issues are from short staffing & no ot allowed.  Instead of positive feedback and suggestions, we are under constant scrutiny and stress. Inexperienced mgmt most new mgmt is off site & cannot answer questions of staff. Mgmt will not listen to people who care,  work hard and know the business. Hard work & loyalty are not always rewarded. One can hope, If your liked, you move up. If not, run...To be fair, give it a try. A job is a job.

The work environment is fast-paced and can be demanding, with consistently high workloads across teams. While there are opportunities to gain valuable experience in revenue cycle and healthcare systems, compensation and role alignment do not always reflect the level of responsibility. As a result, employee stress is common, and turnover tends to be higher than expected. Greater focus on workload balance, clear ownership, and competitive compensation would significantly improve retention and overall employee satisfaction.

Pros
 Exposure to a wide range of revenue cycle functions and healthcare systems. Opportunities to work across multiple platforms and workflows, gaining valuable experience in integrations, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. Team members are generally supportive and willing to help each other navigate complex challenges.

Following the merger that led to the establishment of Ventra Health, the organization has been grappling with management and cultural challenges. Unfortunately, the company has had three different CEOs within a relatively short period, so proper leadership is lacking. A discernible issue is the top-heavy management structure that has led to an insufficient number of support staff. Consequently, the support staff is overburdened and inadequately compensated for their exceptional effort. Most departments are afflicted with incompetent management that is ill-equipped to navigate the intricacies of our billing system. Upper management is notorious for their lack of follow-through on their promises. The organization's culture is wanting and lacks policies that acknowledge and reward workers who surpass their performance targets. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Remote work flexibility, which is one of the few consistent benefits of the role.

Managing high demands without consistent direction, while navigating unclear priorities and limited operational support.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fast-paced but often unstructured, with shifting priorities and inconsistent leadership communication. Success depends heavily on self-navigation rather than defined processes.
