Do not work here. The President over the schools seeks and demands full control in all aspects of each campus. 

Person's who are hired to perform in respective positions are not allowed the freedom of discretion to perform the job.  The morale in each department is significantly low.  

The turnover is extremely high; which is definitely a tell tale sign of poor leadership.

They practice nepotism, will befriend.  If  you display any type of exceptional leadership, independence,  respect for what is right... etc. you pose a threat.  

Everyone there is miserable in the environment to include students.

VCOM is a mission-driven medical college. The work environment is very professional. The organizational culture is collaborative. The opportunities for professional growth and advancement exist. You have the opportunity to work with great people. Compensation is very competitive in the marketplace. The benefits are superior to just about any other organization.. 

Management is poor. The work environment is very political. If you do not know the right people you will not be hired. Management prefers to bring in outside people with political connections rather than promote current employees who are more qualified. There is little to no training. You are thrown into a position and expected to figure out how to do the job on your own.

VCOM is a good stepping stone for administrative jobs. However, there is little room for upward promotions because it is a smaller private medical college. In addition, nepotism is apparent, and everyone knows about it. You will be paid less than those who are related to certain higher-ups in leadership.

Good culture and everyone is very friendly. People from every department really care about you. It's not common that you find that in a job.

The workload is very reasonable and they make sure it matches your skill set. They help you in acquiring new skills if needed to improve your ability to do your job.

This organization is outstanding.  As a standardized Patient I have the opportunity to help young doctors really be able to communicate to patients.  I learn so much and can share alot of life skills with these students.

VCOM is a very family friendly environment with outstanding benefits and opportunities for research. The best part of the job was the ability to mentor and shape the future of osteopathic medicine.

Working at a school has always been part of my career path. It is nice to still be connected to education even if I am not in a classroom. I help manage medical students, and I enjoy it,

Great place to start a career. Fast pace and constantly busy. Clean and cheerful environment. Students are wonderful and enjoy the courses that are assigned to them.

Good environment. I recommend it at as a friendly place.  Have the students interests in mind.  Higher ups have a strong sense of mission.  Good board pass rate
