I wanted to share an honest, anonymous perspective for those considering this organization. While the mission is meaningful on paper, the company consistently struggles to achieve it in practice due to several systemic issues.

One of the most noticeable challenges is the imbalance between patient acuity and census. Despite a relatively low patient volume, the cases are often highly complex, requiring thoughtful, well-supported care. Unfortunately, operational decisions and workflows do not seem aligned with the level of clinical risk involved, which creates ongoing concerns about patient safety.

Leadership plays a significant role in this disconnect. There is a pattern of micromanagement from individuals who appear removed from the realities of frontline care. Decisions are often made without sufficient clinical insight, leading to inefficiencies and added strain on staff rather than meaningful improvements. This has contributed to a growing sense of frustration and burnout across the team.

To the company’s credit, the collegiality among peers is a bright spot. Team members are supportive, collaborative, and genuinely committed to helping one another navigate a challenging environment. The lateral teamwork is strong and often compensates for gaps in leadership.

However, there are limited opportunities for professional growth, and compensation has not kept pace with the demands of the role. Over time, this has made it difficult to retain motivated staff and sustain morale.

Overall, while the organization has the foundation to be impactful, meaningful change would require leadership to better understand frontline realities, prioritize patient safety, and invest in both staff development and compensation.

The job could be very rewarding.  It was exhausting keeping up with performance standards and a lot is expected of you in terms of productivity.  That said, the Team Lead and Director are not only some of the best bosses I have had, but they are also some of the kindest women I have ever met.  They made the Norcross location stand out among the rest of the locations.  If you work at Viewpoint try to go for the Norcross location.  It is the best.  The company overall does not pay well and in the almost two years I was there I never received a formalized training on different therapeutic approaches to use with clients.  The lack of trainings was almost made up for by the fact that those providing clinical supervision were excellent at what they do, so there was some guidance.  I enjoyed the autonomy and felt like it could be both good and bad that I was self-taught or finding my own way on therapeutic approaches.  Better pay and better training would have made this job better, but overall I am grateful that I worked there when I did.  I learned so much about how to work with people from all different walks of life.

The organization has a good cause in the community but the management is not good in keeping employees around for a long time. Bad managers can't change and the higher management use ways to absorb employees frustration but without taking a real action to stop the bad management practices. This ends up with employees leaving their job and the higher management never questions the high employee turnover rate under any manager. Thus, the organization struggles to find good employees that are willing to stay with them for an extended period of time. The management should change their mentality to lead not manage and to utilize the business approach to managing this organization so it can be successful and appealing to people looking to work for a cause while feeling happy with their work and serve with all their hearts. 

If you are looking for a professional, ethical environment, this is not it. Upon joining this company, you will be fooled into thinking that this is an awesome opportunity to make a difference in your patients life.....WRONG!!!!!! As a nurse you will be compromising your oath. Don't do it to yourself. You will be moved from site to site with no compensation, or rather at their convenience. You will be made to clean and cook with your job description being very general and broad. Your nursing skills will not be appreciated or used. So basically if you want to be a residential care provider, this is it. When you question what exactly are you needed for, you will be told a plethora of "dynamic" lies about trying to build a "dynamic" team. If you are unwilling to compromise your ethics, your physical health, your schedule, and your professionalism, you are no longer a team player.  Not a place for NURSES!!!!

I've been working at View Point Health for about 3 years now and I've been very impressed with the service mentality of the employees and management here. I worked in a profit industry for years and it's really nice to work with a group of employees who have the non-profit, service mentality. It's also very rewarding to work at a company that does so much good in the community. The company doesn't pay into social security which is more money in my paycheck. The company also puts 7.5% into a 401a account without us having to add into it. The benefits costs are really great since it's state health benefits and there are a lot of discounts too. You definitely have to be willing to work hard to be here, but it's been really rewarding for me.

Inconsistency with the way we’re to redirect mental health clients and lack of accountability and communication

Everything gets swept under the rug when serious issues arise within staff members and second hand information is passed down from management to employees causing confusion and disarray 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
You never know what the day may bring because of the lack of communication

Our facility was a 28 day residential program for people with addiction disorders and dual diagnosis. Our staff was a team and our goal was to give a message of hope to our clients by providing them education on addiction and depression, anxiety, PTSD and the like and helping them identify a better way of life for themselves as well as set goals  and track progress. We focused on whole recovery of the body, mind and spirit and addressed common thinking errors.  We provided tools for thought replacement and behavior change. One of the challenges was that 28 days was not enough time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working at View Point Health broadens my knowledge on the causes, effects, and ways to manage substance abuse and mental health related issues affecting children and adults.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If one has to commute some distance.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture is well defined but the environment needs to be updated.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Eventful because it's a client first work environment.
Patient and family experience is our priority.

I have had the opportunity to watch upper management work hard to try to make things better for the staff.  It is a state agency so they do what they can with the funding they get but it is always a concern and something they continue to work on.  They try to really hear to concerns of staff members and try to make things better.  There is an open door policy that is genuine.  I know I could make more money somewhere else but I feel heard, respected and appreciated at View Point Health and would not give that up for a bigger paycheck.

There is always room for advancement 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Staff laziness and unwillingness to learn more, and doing the bare minimum. No accountability at the onset of a problem.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Environment is always safe but could potentially be a problem if you're not focused on each individual behavior.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Energetic , full of life running around with the kids, doing activities on the unit and playing ball outside
