-A typical day at work in the administration is 8am-4:30 pm. 
-You are trained at your own pace to ensure success, questions are encouraged and they will adjust your training to your learning style. You can choose what training you receive after those most applicable to your position. 
-The management left me in awe. With many employers you hear “We are family” and they state they expect and promote a cohesive family like atmosphere. This the first place of my employment where ;
1. The owners are an actual family.
 2. Everyone pulls their own weight and in down time helps others to ensure they are successful and no one is over worked. 
3. No workplace drama. People who are employed here are dependable, hardworking, professional and FRIENDLY!

-The hardest part of this job was the interview process. By hard I simply mean extensive. It was a series of 3 interviews with different staff, and not technology test (simple in nature) I would love to give more feedback on the difficult aspects of this job, but there are so many resources and trainings available combined with helpful staff to make the job minimally stressful and overall REWARDING.
- The most enjoyable part of this job with this company is knowing that they screen so extensively that you know your team will be made up of other driven, hardworking, professional and friendly staff. 

For people who need less stress in their lives, this job is ideal. A typical day involves going to clients' houses and looking for ways to meet their needs. Each client has a few basic tasks to complete, such as light housework, driving to the grocery store, or companionship; but each shift we also find the random things clients might need done, such as refilling a humidifier. This job has taught me to slow down and spend quality time with people; it's a very different environment from the frantic pace of a nursing home. Working with management is low-stress, too - they are very ready to respect work/personal boundaries. I've asked for about 40 hours and given them days and times I'm unavailable, and they stick to that. Every time they offer me a new client, they ask questions such as, "Are you comfortable with pets?" or "Are you comfortable giving showers?" depending on the client's needs. This job doesn't tend to involve coworkers, but the clients and client's family/friends I have worked with have all been friendly (as well as the handful of coworkers I have met). Some clients do require a lot of companionship, and if both the caregiver and client are quiet people, it can be difficult to keep a conversation going. However, it's very rewarding to be able to help people in concrete ways and to hear their stories.

I have been with Visiting Angels for three months now.  I mostly work with clients that have dementia and or Alzheimer’s. 
I have learned that it takes time to get to know one another. It also takes time to gain the client’s trust. It is very important not to push to try to get a client to do something if they do not want to. Once the  client gets to know you and trust you, it is much easier to complete tasks that need to be done like medication reminders , assisting with personal needs, etc. . 
It’s very nice being able to work one on one with clients in their own homes where they feel most safe. It also gives family peace of mind having their loved ones at home.  
The hardest part of the job may be when a client is having a bad day and being able to be flexible while still being able to care for their needs. The most enjoyable part of the job is the great friendships that you make and the warm fuzzy feeling you get for doing such a wonderful job helping others.  It is also the most humbling experiences I have had and will carry with me always!!

I have learned  patience. 
I have also learned just how important & precious time is & how important it is to treasure all of the moments that we have with our friends & our families. That is also the hardest part of the job in some cases. 
The most enjoyable parts of the job are the people we get to meet & the stories they tell us about their lives, as we get to know them. Like what they’ve done, where they come from, where they’ve traveled, etc. 
We hear some amazing stories, &  we get to learn a lot about how hard things were for our grandparents & great grandparents when they were growing up. 

For the first time in forever I can honestly state that I LOVE MY JOB. Jumping from place to place over the years, I just felt like a number, often time feeling that I don't matter- until I found Visiting Angels. I have never felt more supported and genuinely appreciated each day. I enjoy the variety this gives me during the day, and to share my passion for taking care of others has been the biggest blessing! I always knew I had a purpose, but finding a place to harbor that, Visiting Angels delivers with 110% grace and compassion. Don't wait for "the other shoe to drop" when you work here, cause it won't. You can usually choose your scheduled hours and availability, and work with clients which you can choose as well.  Take care of people, using your skills and abilities to make their lives liveable and enjoyable in their own homes. The office managers help you schedule and give good advice and support for your needs and clients’ needs. The best part of the job is feeling you have met someone’s needs and made their day.

A typical day at visiting angels is anything but typical. The people you meet and the places you go are amazing. I've meet some really amazing people both in the office and the clients I've worked with. The management is very easy to work with and they try to work with you if you need to have off. I will say the hardest part of the job is if you have a client and you form a strong bond with them, its hard to see them move into a facility when it comes time too. But the most enjoyable thing about the job is creating those bonds and helping the client be able to stay at home for as long as they can.

I've worked for Visiting Angels for almost a year and, was able to make my own schedule that works around my life. The owners and office staff are so understanding when it comes to sick days and needing time off. They understand emergencies happen and they check in out you. The clients are outstanding to work with. If an issue arises I feel comfortable explaining it to the office staff or owners and together we can come up with a solution. #1 choice for home care in America #1 family to work for!
