As a nurse and part of the care team at Vitra, I am delighted to express my appreciation for the positive changes that have taken place under the guidance of the new president. The restructuring efforts have provided a newfound clarity and sense of direction within the company, allowing me to better understand my role and responsibilities as a nurse in the field.

One of the notable improvements since the arrival of the new president is the establishment of a structured framework that defines expectations and objectives. This has been instrumental in bringing a sense of purpose and focus to my work. The clear guidelines and goals have not only enabled me to prioritize my tasks efficiently but have also enhanced my overall performance as a field nurse.

Although our IT systems may have some areas that require improvement, it is heartening to witness the receptive attitude of our management team towards feedback. They acknowledge the challenges faced by us in utilizing the existing systems and actively seek solutions to enhance our technological infrastructure. This willingness to address our concerns demonstrates the company's commitment to providing us with the necessary tools and resources to excel in our roles.

Moreover, I am grateful for the exceptional support and understanding exhibited by my manager. Their attentiveness and receptiveness to employee feedback have created an environment where I feel genuinely heard and valued. This level of engagement has not only fostered a positive working relationship but has also empowered me to voice my opinions and contribute to the overall improvement of our team.

While the new structure and accountability measures have been beneficial for many of us, it is important to acknowledge that some employees may be finding it challenging to adapt to the changes. Shifting from a less structured environment to one that emphasizes accountability can be a significant adjustment for individuals who are not accustomed to such frameworks. However, I believe that with time, support, and consistent communication, these employees will be able to navigate the changes more effectively.

In conclusion, the introduction of a new president and the subsequent changes implemented at Vitra have had a transformative impact on my role as a field nurse. The newfound structure and clarity have brought renewed focus and purpose to my work. Despite the minor imperfections in our IT systems, the company's commitment to addressing feedback reflects their dedication to our success.

I am fortunate to work in an environment where my manager actively listens and values the input of their team members. This inclusive approach has created a supportive atmosphere where I am motivated to perform at my best. While the transition to increased accountability poses challenges for some, I am confident that with proper support and understanding, all employees will adapt and thrive in this new environment.

I am proud to be a part of a company that embraces change, values employee feedback, and continuously strives for improvement. The positive transformations brought about by our new president have made me genuinely enjoy what I do as a field nurse. I look forward to the continued growth and success of Vitra as we navigate this exciting journey together.






Working for Vitra started out well.  They offered great benefits and allowed adult staff to manage their own work load as a team with your partner.  However, all that changed.  Staff were now tracked by their employee phones, being forced to check in and out of AFC visits.  If you had no signal and were not able to complete the check in, you were flagged, and often contacted by the CEO questioning bluntly if the visit was completed.  It was this micro managing that forced me to leave.

Other cons: Their documentation app is nothing more than a PDF filler.  Nothing transfers from form to form, so be prepared to double document.  You are responsible for downloading your completed pdf, renaming it, and then re-uploading it to the patient chart which is all on one drive.
You are forced to drive to Braintree for their meetings, so if ur covering in their Lawrence office it’s a hike.

Your caseload keeps you on the road from the start of your shift to the end.  Documentation time with all that uploading, is expected to be done during the visit.  oh, and your not paid for travel from your first visit or for your last which is bologna.

Your territory is WIDE so expect a good bit of traveling that typically covers about 8-10 towns.

They market themselves as a company with good work life balance.  But it is not.  You will never have enough time to pick ur kids up from school, and are still expected to complete the same workload if you take a vacation. 
You will have more flexibility doing VNA than AFC visits. 

Their staff turn over rate is wild!  They will tell you that ppl stay, but it’s like 4 office staff that have longevity.  The field staff…social workers, nurses, aids they have a life span of a butterfly, 1-2 weeks.

Finally the pay.  It is lower than the average going rate for field staff, there is no negotiating.  In this economy, the pay hurts.

The hardest part of my job is not being able to find enough qualified candidates to hire that have a passion to work hard and grow with the company.

I was hired when the company went into “work from home” mode due to quarantine. I was grateful they still hired me during the pandemic. I was not set up for success at all and my boss even agreed he didn’t set me up for success. I barely got any training. The girl who trained me was expected to teach me everything “Via zoom” which was the hardest part. Learning a whole new job via zoom is hard. I was stressed the whole 3 months I worked there. Everyday was stressful because you have no structure, no organization and no sense of direction. I was hired for something specific because of my background and they thought I would be able to grow that portion of the company. How can I do that when only 10% of those services are offered. This company was selfish and sales is the main priority. The girl I worked with was torn down for being too about her clients and not pushing sales too much. I was given 7 different projects at once including helping another department and then out of nowhere I get let go because I hadn’t brought in 1 referral. How was I supposed to do that when I have been working from home and not been able to venture off into the community to build relationships. I have to say being let go lifted a million pounds off my shoulders. This company is for pocket not for patient. The CEO lies and lies and lies especially on zoom calls with other companies. Your company is not doing as well as you make it seem stop lying. 

I do not recommend that any professional adult work for this failing company. This company "Vitra Health" has had a change in "leadership" that has resulted in a massive staff turnaround and a poor, negative work environment focused solely on revenue rather than patient care. The new management, while very dictatorial, is not competent to manage a home care agency. They do not have the proper knowledge to train nurses and case managers and their technology fails on a daily basis so you will be constantly required to double document or prove to your manager that you actually did your visits. While I worked in the field seeing patients, I was also getting angry emails/calls and texts from managers asking why I was 5-10 minutes late, or questioning if I actually did my work or my notes as they have awful communication. I also received texts, calls and emails at all hours of the night and weekend with questions about clients, payments and other things unrelated to my job. There are cliques and many background secrets that prevented me to feel supported and part of a team. The environment is not healthy for the mind or work-life balance of a nurse/ case manager. If you have kids or a family, steer clear of Vitra because you will not have time to spend with your family. 

Vitra provides an important service for those caring for their loved ones. It is very unfortunate that their management and upper management cannot properly support their staff in order to ensure true client satisfaction.

Instead, you’re expected to handle most situations on your own, without real support. You will be told “we’re always here,” only to later hear, “I’m sorry, I’ve been swamped with meetings and emails…”

You will give extensive time and energy to your clients and caregivers, as they deserve. At the same time, however, you’ll be expected to stretch yourself incredibly thin out in the field, with unrealistic expectations of what can actually be completed in a single day.

It often seems that the moment the work becomes inconvenient for the management system, the easiest solution is termination rather than supporting and guiding employees to improve and strengthen overall operations.

Dedicated support staff are let go, while management takes leaves of absence, which makes it hard not to question how the standards being placed on staff are being upheld at the leadership level.

If you’re looking to grow professionally and work in an environment where employees are respected and supported-stay away from Vitra health!

The company changed policies on the spot constantly. The case managers and nurses were constantly trying to do our jobs while adjusting to the abrupt policies and changes the company was throwing at the field staff. There is a significant disconnect between leadership and employees. Management would say that they hear the employees yet the issues continued. There are no resources for case managers to do our jobs not even a binder or a direction to helpful websites. The main role of the case manager is scheduling and caregiver payroll. There are no resources for the communities you try to serve. It was a complete disappointment to work for Vitra. The nurses are over extended and no proper structure is provided for nurses either. Some of us expressed dangerous life threatening incidents that occurred while out on the field and management ignored every single employee request for safer measures. One of the policies was to work out of our cars. The money is not worth the things they put us through. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is the sweet clients and families that are happy to see us. The worst part is we don’t have time to take care of them, just check them off a list. This place is an absolute nightmare. Do not work here if you are a nurse RN or even LPN. Nurses have outrageous case loads and do not have TIME to eat OR use the rest room while driving and being on the road for the entire 8 hour day! They fool you into thinking it’s a great gig, and on the first day they give you a laptop bag and jacket and the next day they give you a 200 person case
load and a manager who leaves early for baseball games. The pay is awful for the workload, management is an absolute disorganized disaster with absolutely NO compassion or knowledge of how to run a company. The new president is all about going out to lunch and numbers to make herself look better and good staff have been leaving every day! RUN away from this place and do not apply here if you value your nursing license. 

This review is long overdue. I have to say I was blessed to have been hired by Vitra. The only reason I left was because I moved out of state, otherwise I would still be there. What captured me upon my first interview was the great work ethics that the President/CEO has. The care and well being of the clients is priority. He was always supportive and gave me the tools to succeed. The team at Vitra are amazing especially my co-worker who helped me grow the Southeast area. I have been in healthcare for 25 years and by far this is one of the best companies I have ever worked for. Besides feeling happy to go to work each day ( in my opinion the best benefit), they also offer excellent employee benefits and work-life balance was perfect! If I do return back to MA, I will be calling them first for re-employment. Keep up the great work team Vitra! I wish you all the best and much success. 

If you are looking to work for a positive company who care about their employees while prioritizing client care I suggest you look elsewhere. This company has one motive and it is money. They consistently under value great employees and micromanage everyone. Their priority is fixed on admissions to the point where they send multiple emails/teams messages to book admissions in one day and add clients to already full caseloads, while not caring if there is actually a team that has time to maintain these new clients. There is constant chaos with things being changed behind the scenes and the communication between upper management is horrendous. When they hire new people they train them for a day or two and then send them on their way with no real training structure. They only care about adding another body to be able to complete as many admissions as possible. Stay far away!
