This place was rediculous to work for. I must agree with the other review posted. All current management staff are uneducated and highly intimidated by those of us who are. They have moved into management positions because of time with the company. None have higher than High School Diploma. All real educated managers and employees seem to discover their error in seeking employment with Viva within the first year and leave the company to seek true professional employment. These people are truely incompetent and make up rules daily. The Directors has hire immediate family members and friends. That's nepotism all day. However, the Human Resources department is even more incompetent and allows any and everything. So many professional people have quit and moved on not to look back at the night mare at Viva Health. I was fortunate that another previous Viva manager hired me to work at a true corporation. I'm really surprised that UAB is even associating with Viva. It's corrupt all over! They hire professionals because they almost have to because of criteria, but at the end of the day, they're so intimidated by their level of professionalism, that the person either quits or they find a way to fire them. And they actually think they're doing something to hurt someone, but they're really helping them to move on to a better place. I feel sorry for the people who are stuck there temporarily, but just hang on. Network with truely professionals and you'll find a way out. Never stoop to their low levels and remain focused on getting out of there. It will happen for you soon. Don't give up! Let those incompetent managers and human resources have Viva! You went to school and earned a degree to gain a PROFESSIONAL position!! Instead you were fooled like the rest of us in thinking that Viva would be like UAB. Definitely NOT!!!! Several professionals have left Viva and went to UAB. Viva managers try hard to block you, but they can't. You just have to know the right people who can handle it for you. It can be done! A previous manager has contacted me and I am happy to participate in a class action suite that has been filed against Viva Health. Like I said, completely incompetent staff; clueless.But they really do THINK that they're smart. 
Now, with all that being said. If you have a higer education, this is NOT the place for you!!!! Run in the opposite direction. Hurry!!!!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Used to have flexibility in schedule. Now the greed has taken over and we're expected to work overtime without added compensation. I NEVER signed up to volunteer at Viva.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management pressuring employees to falsify documentation.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Day to day is nice because I work from home... until the demanding emails start. Multiple people in management, including my manager, were recently fired. The lady that has been covering is uninformed about her new role and has increased our stress level for her enjoyment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I wake up early to finish charting from previous days clinics. Around 9am, the management emails start. Most are pointless. My supervisor sends out productivity charts almost daily with everyone's numbers. This destroys the "team" mentality and creates competition instead since bonuses used to be involved. Now that Viva is stealing employees bonuses, PTO, and mileage reimbursement, no one puts in much effort. Everyone is doing bare minimum instead of watching productivity.

Viva is a decent company overall.  They need to invest in there training department.  Your in the classroom for 3 weeks then they just expect you to start taking calls.   There is no more training after the 3 weeks in the classroom.   I've been in a number of call center and I've never been in this kind of environment to where they expect you to learn all this information in a short period of time.  Smh.  Hopefully they will hire more trainers so they can setup there employees for success and not failure .


Productive and enjoyable workplace with great employees. The management rewarded hard work with incentive pay and company picnics and employee recognition.

I looked forward to going to work each day to interact with my co-workers. The hardest part of the job was informing customers of claim or service denial. The most enjoyable part of the job was delivering company and customer satisfaction.

Management constantly wanting more even when your off for the day

Stressful, you’re always expecting criticism from the bosses. Employees are easy to get along with most of the time .

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
15 hrs long ( working at home ) and of course there is no extra pay for extra work

Awful place to work where uneducated managers have no concept of the value of educated, professional, hardworking employees. Very lazy management. There is corruption throughout the leadership team where actions are purposefully taken to suppress the growth and development of employees. Words can't describe the environment; one would have to be a part of it to truly understand it.

A typical day at Viva consisted of answering incoming calls from members who had questions about their benefits and medical and drug claims. To send information to inter-office pharmacy department to see if denied drugs could be approved and calling providers to submit corrected claims when needed and assist in obtaining durable medical equipment for customers.

Worked as a contractor for Viva.  The management and development process left a lot to be desired.  I would not recommend this company at all.  I also feel like I was misled in the interview process.

Management set unrealistic expectations and then complained when you didn't meet them.  Really horrible for your stress level and mental health.

it a fast pace work play with changes often do to change in guidelines hat must be follow.  They make sure that when new changes come that everything is in place when the new guidelines take effect. The IT dept work hard to make all the informations flow to each department.

Wow, where do I start? Super mico management training is too short not enough staff for call volume! Training is only 2 weeks! They expect you to know everything! I worked there for 1 month and had had enough! My advice to management is to stop rushing progress! 15.00 Is low pay for the amount of work. I quit got another job 1 week later for 19.23 An hour! Less stress!
