The coworkers are AMAZING! The Providers are wonderful, all great to work with and to learn from. The culture is very team oriented this help to complete tasks throughout the day. They cross train everyone within their scope to help better service the patients and take weight off the staff....It's obvious when team members don't pull their own weight and let other pick up the slack. 
Management does a good job explaining what's to be expected upon hire. They are fair with enforcing the policies and procedures for patient and staff safety. The rules are the same everywhere, "keep your phone in the break room or no games on the computer" it's easy to follow.  Management puts on team building activity outside of work to get to know your team outside of work and build a solid team. Also they have sent us to Darien lake for company picnic with our families! I've seen my managers help clean with the team or help work the floor so people can get a break. Have even worked a full or half shift with them in some cases. 
They allow you to pick up overtime if there are open shifts at your home site or at other sites. And with being crossed trained you have even more options to pick up and extra shift a week and still have 3 days off!! 

They will text or call you when someone calls off for a shift looking to see if you can work, but they are good about it if you can't and understand. 

Yes, we clean throughout the day and at the end of the shift. We take pride in our site. When we clean together as a team it is done evenly and in no time. When teammates don't help then it can't take longer than plan and frustration starts among the team.....our provider do help clean.... if they are seeing patients we all understand that their priority is that patient. But if it's slow or no patients providers will help with cleaning. 

We have very fast past offices that can see a lot of patients in a day, working with outstanding teams makes it so much better and easier. I love coming to work everyday knowing I don't know what will walk through the door or what I will get to help assist with. I never thought I would enjoy working 12-13 hour days but with a solid team it's easy days. It's the days that people don't help feel more like 15 hour days. Laziness will not do well in a fast pace urgent care. We have things that need to get done daily weekly and monthly if one person says "it's not my job" it's time to learn it because we are a team and a team does whatever we can to help each other out. ...You may not be able to do the blood draw but you can help with reporting.... little things like that goes a long ways at our site. We appreciate each other for that.


Also when you are ready or want to know how to move up and grow with the company they are there ready to help you do so with pointer and guidance. 

All in all this is a wonderful place to work. I absolutely love my job, my team, my managers, and my patients.

Honestly working here is kind of a joke. It is a huge company, run by nearly none of management having a background in healthcare, so they never know what to do about anything. Neither patients nor staff come first, it is all about the "money makers" for the company. They tell us to lie to patients at reception and tell them we have x-ray when we don't. They tell us anyone who should go to the ER needs to come back and be seen by our provider first. Several of the managers we have had are/have been very abrasive, unprofessional, and do not have any skill in dealing with interpersonal conflicts. These managers will go behind other employees backs, and try to gossip with you. Busy sites seeing 100+ patients per day are always short staffed. Management doesn't try to get it covered. AND to top it all off, very few staff members are willing to show up and do their jobs. If something happens they will go behind your back instead of talking to you about it. Many are happy to just sit back and relax, and not do their job. Besides RT/LPN, no healthcare experience is needed to work here. This REALLY creates a whole lot of chaos! Little initiative is taken here. Patients are often very rude as well, particularly so at the location I work at. Possibly the worse thing of all is how bad all of the equipment is. Printers breaking down several times per day, occupational medicine equipment breaking while we have clients. The plumbing will stop working randomly at many sites as well, TOO often. I've worked at other places and this doesn't happen anywhere else. And guess what - we have to "still be open to see patients," when this happens. 

So what's the good? The amazing providers and the few good workers are what makes this job. They support you well, I truly believe have made lifelong friends here. The environment is accepting of all people. It also is an amazing way to earn experience for med school or PA school. You learn a lot and have to sink or swim. You learn to prioritize. The pay is also very competitive, especially if your site is extended hours (which does suck, but the money is nice). They are sometimes OK with you working OT and picking up for incentive money. 

Overall, you have to take the good with the bad and know that some locations are better than others. If you work here, just don't get too stressed about anything, and show up and do the best you can. 

This place will suck the life out of you, physically and mentally, to the point where all you can think about on your little time off is how stressful it is at work. The benefits suck and the management is one of the worst models I’ve ever seen. Too many people being promoted into job descriptions that they have no idea how to do so upper management can micromanage them (site managers) and they don’t realize how wrong it is. Their turnover rate is insane, people usually work there for six months or less. When they hire just anybody (even with no medical experience), you’re left to train them even if you weren’t fully trained which makes me question how that is acceptable in a healthcare environment where we are talking about people’s lives. The management is so horrible that I would rather have them not pretend that they care about their employees and be two-faced. I would rather have them act like they don’t care since they truly do not. For example, in an extremely stressful situation at one point I looked at the manager and said that the staff needed help and they said “oh you guys got it” and walked away and then went home. The disrespect was absolutrly unreal. The only reason the place is still open is because of the few reliable employees that they actually do have, who constantly get screwed over by patients and the company at the same time. The company is all about money and figuring out the next way they can make $$, no matter the cost and the disrespect to the employees. This place is a joke of a company and at the rate they’re going, this place will crash and burn soon enough. I mean, 12 hour shifts that turn into 13 or 14 hour shifts and then having to clean the whole place on top of it because this place is too cheap to hire a cleaning service, yet they keep opening new locations when the old locations aren’t even trained and staffed properly. No lunches or breaks within a very stressful 12-14 hour day. It truly is just about how much money they can make the higher ups. Karma will catch up eventually. Do not work here. They do not and will not ever value you, no matter how nice they seem in your face and how much they say “they're family.” Dodge this bullet. 

This place is a disaster! I don’t recommend applying here due to shortage of staffs, low inventory of everything, they run out of disinfect sprays, no PPE. This location has no x-ray, no bat ,dot physical certifications and we do not run autoclave either. Clinical lead& managers expectations are high with loads of tasks that’s impossible to finish when the only person taking urgent cares and drug screens. when the company advertised kind and compassionate to our patients and also to our staff. There is no ounce of respect from upper management and no flexibility to our own schedule. 12 hours shifts whenever they schedule you at any of the locations. This place is high demand and you will have no time to eat or use bathroom. This place is an huge disappointment, no updates from management what’s about to changes, they just come in and change everything without telling you what is planned to come. You will get tons of emails everyday at work however you won’t be able to respond when working with patients daily. There is new staff every month and others quit so fast due to the trainings are expected on the floor with the workers on the first day and expected to be cross trained from being a receptionist and medical assistant. The upper management favors certain workers and accommodate work schedule with favoritism. The place is disorganized, and most staff can not find anything such as misplaced keys to replace toilet paper or paper towels. The management does not care about your feelings or time of the day, they expect you to come in work on time and clean and work.  No phones are allowed on the floor but the management will text you and call you. They will write you up if your cell phones are out or late to work. 

Monthly site meetings are on zoom an hour before we start our shift and are not paid to our employees who are not scheduled but it is mandatory.  The clinical lead and the manager send out monthly site meetings zoom the night before of the link. 



What is the best part of working at the company?
The work schedule, 3 twelves a week. I also do genuinely love the job itself. It’s fast passed, the team does really become a team.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constantly short staffed. More often than not it’s one provider for 70+ patients at the wellnow location I work at. It’s rarely more than 2 pcts right now with a LPN here and there. And now they added a telehealth cart that they stress is nonnegotiable, meaning if there is only 2 pcts on the floor… one of them will be gone for 30-ish minutes at a time in the telehealth room with a patient in there. This leaves one pct to do vitals, point of care testing and any wound/wrap that may need to be done while the other pct is in that room. On top of this, providers can no longer cap as easy as they were once able to. So we could have 14-15 people on the board at one time waiting for 1 provider. And they have the audacity to get upset about long wait times for these patients. So everyone, providers included, constantly feel like they are drowning for that whole 12 hour shift.
And the billing department… AWFUL. God forbid they forget to pay out a covid day pay or a incentive day pay. You have to prove to them that you do indeed deserve this and then you may have it payed to you weeks later.
And their scheduling system is just ridiculous. You have to know what days you need PTO for 2 months in advance. So you do get 2 months worth of a schedule at a time but you need to know what days you need off 2 months ahead of time. Currently it’s the beginning of December and we are required to hand in our pto/days off for April right now.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You do get really close to the team you work with. But the msm and roms and higher ups want you busting your hump 13 hours a day, doing the work of 2 people half the time and it’s just not worth the pay.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
12 hour day, lucky to fit in a break or sit for that matter. But you do meet some really great patients that are thankful for your services and that is what makes it worth it.

So my honest review, I am hired as a medical assistant at the batavia location. Everyone is very kind and helpful. I did all my training at the Greece location and I absolutely loved every moment! I had opportunity for over time and the site manager there is phenomenal! She was so sweet and was always there for me if I ever needed anything or needed help. She goes out of way for everyone. She was the one who gave me my tour and did my shadowing. She made me want to start that day I first shadowed! The facility is so clean you could literally eat off their floors. The staff was so nice from the moment I started to the moment I finished my training and said I was always welcome to come back for extra shifts. They order food once or more a week for the staff and I have celiacs and they went out of their way to meet my dietary needs every time! Even if that meant them ordering food from another place for me if I couldn’t eat what they were having. I’m now currently in the batavia office and my site manager there is outstanding as well. She is always willing to help and if I have a question she will go out of her way to find that answer. Everyone and Greece and Batavia locations worked so well together there were NO CLIQUES what so ever. I work my hours during the week and when I leave I just want to come back to work. I never dread a day going to work. This place is just amazing inside and out. I never want to find another job! You learn and see so many things in a day and you gain so much experience with being here. The providers are all knowledgeable and very kind. They offer me to come in the rooms with them during suturing and when they need a jam and explain every step of what they are doing so I know what’s going on. I love five star urgent care that’s all there’s is too it. Even though the pay isn’t what I expected I still won’t leave this company ever and they will have to fire me to leave haha.

I was employed as a provider for wellnow for the WNY region, working for multiple of their locations for about 3 years. I unfortunately left the company as I feared for my medical license, and wish I would’ve left sooner. As a core provider, you are running a clinic that is constantly functioning with the bare min staff or short staffed with ancillary staff that have very minimal to no medical background/ experience. The only supervising physicians available are “on call” that are employed and other facilities and out of the region, that either do not respond in a timely matter or not at all. There is no actual management at individual sites to manage the ancillary staff- the responsibility falls onto the provider. The “management” is a team in which also does not have any medical credentialing, experience or knowledge and essentially are directing medical professionals with no consideration to the patients safety, or providers medical licensing. I’ve been in the medical profession for about 10 years and this is the worst organization I have worked for. As a mid level provider you are left to run a clinic alone with very little directive or help, seeing volumes of 50-60 patients alone, with inexperienced staff, and even worse management. There is no consideration for risk management, staff safety/ health or patient safety. This is very clearly a for profit organization running as a business model, not a patient care centered model. The staff are more than burnt out, the management practices favoritism and retaliation against the employees when speaking out about the conditions, and the patients are not provided with quality care. They disguise mistreatment with impossible bonus metrics, free meals, and team bonding activities. As a provider, the money is not worth it! 

APPLICANTS BEWARE! Everyone, from the top of the food chain to bottom is given too much work for their compensation with the exception of corporate (most don’t have the degrees for their positions nor have any healthcare experience). No one is appreciated and it just trickles down the hierarchical chain. Misery loves company and let me tell you everyone is miserable. I’ve never heard once that someone loved this company. New hires walk out, veterans are overworked and never appreciated for the multiple roles they fill. If you have a family or any planned vacations don’t plan on seeing them or going anywhere anytime soon. Somehow they get away without providing a lunch break for any of the employees. Yes you stay clocked in all day, but I’d rather have 30 minutes to myself and some solid food instead of slim fast shakes that I can’t even finish. Hazard pay for COVID is a joke, even if you’re swabbing.  The CEO buys $200k cars that they drive to work while we little people get peasant money for risking our health and families daily.  Clock in at 8:45AM and who knows when you’ll go home; you’ll work 11+ hours with no breaks . Upper management will make changes to processes without informing you, and then blaming their staff for mistakes made and miscommunication. They set everyone up to fail! Your PTO is not yours to use although you accrue it fairly quickly. Only Christmas and Thanksgiving you get to spend with your family (meanwhile corporate gets multiple days off for holidays and boss around clinic workers from email) There are some good people, but they are  finding other avenues in which they are utilizing their skills for higher compensation and appreciation . I have been met with kindness from a select few who are greatly appreciated and cared for and with whom I will stay in touch .  

Limiting my review for this company to a character count, simply put, isn't fair. My Well Now journey began with the company taking an incredible risk in hiring me and in doing so set a lasting and, to this day, genuine impression having built an incredible professional relationship in less than 2 short years. This organization provides far beyond what most entry level [healthcare] companies do and tirelessly continues to reach for and grip innovative and effective ways to improve company values at the core level-its employees. Matching function expectation with competitive wage and a desirable work schedule are merely a few qualities most job seekers could only hope to find. Well Now strives to be a leader in healthcare and offers a variety of services to the public that employees can benefit from also. There are frequent opportunities to advance an individuals professional climb and excellent support/training/resources to be successful throughout the journey. Healthcare as a whole, core company and corporate values and growth opportunities are changing direction and Well Now, turning the wheel, strives to accomplish greatness within and affirmatively, set's the standard. I often hear that good employees are difficult to find and even harder to retain, however, I write to my reader with confidence that superior employers are even more difficult to find and in many cases, time consuming with respect in having to learn the hard way when a company may not be a good fit. I firmly believe in Well Now and their dedication to evolving in such a way that solicits employee feedback and RESULTS! I'm excited to continue my career with them and look forward to the future. A typical day in the clinic consists of seeing patients, cleaning, doing testing for patients, administering medications and injections, etc. It is a great place to sharpen clinical skills, but it is not the best place to learn skills for the first time due to lack of organization and standardization with training.

I love my coworkers and my manager. Everyone is very supportive at the clinical level and make working here more tolerable. With that being said, everyone above my manager (the corporate staff out of Rosemont/Chicago) is not receptive to the needs of the clinics or clinical staff. We are encouraged to follow our core values, but corporate staff does not display any of our core values toward us. There is no teamwork, respect, or communication between the clinical staff and the corporate support staff. It's frustrating knowing all of the problems that clinics have that none of them will be solved due to lack of respect or care for Indiana clinics. Everything is based out of Chicago, so if there is an HR or clinic operations issue, it will go days without being addressed. There needs to be Indiana support staff IN INDIANA that are more accessible to the clinic managers. The MSMs have no autonomy. Giving the managers freedom to make their own decisions about their clinic would solve SO many issues. The corporate support staff has no idea what goes on in the clinics themselves, and most have never worked at the clinical level, so I feel as though they don't understand issues we have - especially since every clinic is different.
