I started here pretty quickly after interviewing. It’s been an interesting chain of events since starting… a big turnover with MANY people leaving that happened quickly, from various departments led to a lot of chaos internally. I feel that management maybe handled it as well as they could, but care managers definitely suffered, and a lot of expressed concerns were ignored. There is really not much wiggle room on “policies” but in your interview they will tell you that they are “flexible”… work life balance is not great. It seems that many in upper management are not sympathetic to the employees they hire who have children or complicated home lives. They were not forthcoming with the position being a 35 hour/week position which impacts peoples income and I don’t feel that management or HR cares because it doesn’t affect their salary so they dismiss any concerns brought to them (not just my experience). Supervisors act as though working “extra time” is a gift to care managers which is kind of insane when it is known that the caseloads are obscenely high and a minimum of 40hrs/ week is needed to barely manage it. But I’d say overall it’s a good place to work. I would recommend that upper management listen to the concerns expressed by their employees and make necessary changes before more leave.

Everyday is a different day and an opportunity to learn and be challenged. My work feels valued and supported everyday and we have an amazing team of people in place working to support our mission of ensuring those who are aging and/or disabled are able to get the support they need to remain at home and within their communities. We offer so many programs and each team plays such an important role. The culture is that of respect, inclusivity, support, encouragement and value. There are fun events for employee engagement, great benefits, great pay, opportunities for learning and not just professional development but personal learning on life skills such as budgeting and saving.  The best part is feeling heard and valued in all aspects of what I do while working with an amazing team of people who make me smile!


I can’t speak for other departments, but I recommend staying far, far away from the Care Alliance of Western Mass team. Prepare to be micromanaged and disrespected on a regular basis. The director takes no responsibility and hides behind “program policy” and passive aggressive digs. People on the team have said they felt unheard and dismissed.   Several people have quit or are thinking of quitting. I have personally seen people have nervous break downs working here. Human resources enables this and side with the people in power. 

Working for this company has been one of the best decisions I've made career-wise. It is a little difficult to get promoted, but being persistent and committed can and will help. There are yearly raises, and many departments you can move into if one job is not for you. Management can be very difficult in every department, but it is up to you to be and do your best in order to get your work done and still maintain some flexibility. No job is perfect, but this one far outweighs the lack of benefits and pay at other places in and around Mass.

No two days are the same when working at this agency. I have learned so much to further my career and management is very supportive. The work place culture is great! Work life balance is amazing! The hardest part of the job is clients who are not willing to work with you to help themselves. The best part of the job is helping others and the workforce; the people who work here are amazing! I would highly recommend working here!

Staff is friendly and helpful. Although, many changes have been occuring so the structure of the company has been changing. Like any job, the caseload is intense with lots of individuals to serve but the staff is helpful and accepting of new people. However, I have an advanced degree and need to find another place to work that accommodates my professional needs at this time. Great place to work and get started with the elderly population!

Working at Access Care Partners has been the best move for my career! The environment is supportive, encouraging, and full of passionate, mission minded individuals. Work life balance is actually attainable here and expected of staff. While we are working, we work hard but when we are home, we can focus on living our lives and being present for our families. Access Care Partners is a true gem!

I arrived at 9:30 am, helped her get out of bed, help her in the bathroom, gave medications  made sure she checked her blood for her diabetes, then I would prepare her food. after she was all set with her eating I would wash dishes, clean bathroom, dust home, make bed.  Then I would help bathe her and help getting dressed. and if she had an appointment I would take her.  I would make sure she didn't need any refills or make any more doctor appt.

Agency has Unrealistic responsibilities due to over the top unmanageable case loads, no support, environment has become hostile and difficult to produce as caseload and cases are over the top for a case manager to manage. No staff appeciation or incentives. Agency take long time to hire people. Agency currently is very short staff and current care managers are burn out and cases are falling in a crack.
