WestPac is a company you work at for 10 days and you already see yourself staying until you retire. That’s not even an exaggeration. It’s a small sized firm, but there’s plenty of career opportunities and management all but guarantees you that if you stay long enough, you’ll move up and reap the rewards of your labor. My time with the company has been living proof of that and I wanted to jump on this site and share that because I always hear applicants saying that they don’t think there’ll be enough upward mobility since the company is so small, but that’s just not the case. You just won’t get promoted unless you’re planning to stay.

Small, fun office with about a dozen employees. Great people and great atmosphere. Younger financial firm than most others, which bring a different (better) energy to the firm. Growing quickly with lots of opportunity for advancement. Training and individualized attention is top notch. Managers have a great open door policy and are approachable and willing to help you as needed. 
WestPac does real financial planning and the exposure to high-level strategies and HNW clients will be very valuable for your career.

The environment is very competitive and is more like a telemarketing organization.  Once a book of clients is established it gets less stressful but the management continues to push for more productivity.  Also it is very geared towards selling whole life as a universal answer to clients financial life.

SUPER SMALL financial advisory firm. You would never be able to guess that we’re one of the leading firms in the area because of our size, but we do more for our clients than any of our competitors. Because we’re so small we’re able to give every single client the personal touch and at that point it’s not just about money, but about people, which isn’t always the case when you’re working in finance.
