I didn’t start this job feeling this way—in fact, I used to love it. I genuinely enjoyed my role as a provider, felt connected to the mission, and deeply appreciated my coworkers and fellow clinicians. We had a collaborative, supportive environment where it felt like we were making a real difference.

Unfortunately, everything changed when corporate leadership and middle management implemented the shared follow-up visit model. From that point forward, it became painfully clear that the priority had shifted to billing, volume, and salvaging financial losses—at the expense of both providers and patients.

We’re now expected to see multiple patients at the same time, in the same room, often discussing personal health information openly. It is absolutely not HIPAA compliant, regardless of the narrative being pushed. It’s a transparent attempt to maximize billing on the backs of vulnerable patients—and it borders dangerously on fraudulent behavior.

This shift has made it nearly impossible to practice responsible, ethical, patient-centered care. Providers are burned out, overworked, and denied even the most basic support. We often can’t take a moment to eat or go to the bathroom, and the pressure to hit productivity metrics overrides any sense of clinical integrity.

Worse, when we voice concerns or try to advocate for better practices, we’re met with gaslighting and dismissal. Burnout  is treated like a personal weakness, not a systemic issue Leadership refuses to acknowledge the impact of their decisions, and instead continues to push unrealistic demands while ignoring the rising provider burnout and patient safety concerns.

My mental and physical health have both deteriorated in this environment. What was once a job I felt proud of has become a source of moral injury. Providers are being drained to keep a sinking ship afloat—used for every last bit of billing potential while leadership refuses to make meaningful change.

I would never recommend this position to another provider. If you care about your license, your patients, or your own well-being, stay far away. This is not a sustainable or ethical place to work.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Being part of team where everyone does their part. Management is super supportive and the pay is great for remote work 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Best job ever! No stress at all. It’s unfortunate that the reviews are so bad because this is literally the best job I have ever had 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s remote. You work in a department/ team. If you get to overwhelmed or stressed your management team understands and allows you to take a minute to recharge. The training is two weeks but you can still ask questions and seek help for anything. Sounds cliche but it feels like a supportive family environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Clock in, check my assignment and missed messages. Two 15 minute breaks, one 30 minute lunch. We huddle daily for 15 minutes. Depends on your assignment but they are all pretty good.

They flat out lie about services offered. They say the treat issues they don't treat. Providers are fed up. We can't keep getting more and more work dumped on us, while losing our support staff. It is chaotic, disorganized and we are causing more stress for patients than we are helping them! I used to believe in the company, but what they say and what they do are very different! They laid off 50-60 people, then laid off 50-60 more. They tried to say it was due to economic downturn but that is a lie too. It is due to mismanagement and lack of planning. They keep the "yes men" around and fire the people that were really in it for the right reasons and making a difference every day. This place is a sham!

Lost my job after one year at this facility for no reason.  My patients loved me and I was a dedicated hard worker.  I was told it was budget cuts and that I would be allowed to be rehired if they we’re rehiring but when I reapplied for my position back I herd nothing!  Would not recommend this company very management top heavy that dose not care about there employees.  Benefits were good but , that is all they have going for them.  They were making us see patients in under 10 minutes and for these types of parents that is dangerous care giving.  Probably would of left anyway at some point but to let go of 120 employees over two days is absurd!   Management not supportive either. 

Everything sounded perfect on paper. The mission of the organization is amazing. I really do believe the desire is there. But the shared medical appointment approach is exhausting the clinicians, the clients aren’t that fond of it, and it honestly comes off as a money grab scheme. Whether or not that is the intention, it’s honestly hard to tell because if you question anything, you’re written off and given the same cookie cutter answer from everyone in management. But I really do believe the heart is there. The application is just not caught up yet 

The company has genuinely good-hearted individuals dedicated to making a positive impact on people's lives. 
However, the management structure needs work. While the intentions may be noble, the decision-making process often feels chaotic and disjointed. There's a clear need for more seasoned professionals who can navigate the complexities of running a company and making decisions that truly benefit the organization as a whole.

 If the management concerns are addressed, I believe Workit has the potential to become an even greater force for good in the addiction recovery space.

They had two CEOs fighting for power until one fired the other. They keep on hiring all these VPs of some title or another to help but it fails. Most of them are very under qualified.  The executive leader ship has overseen  three reductions in force resulting in 70% of the companies working staff eliminated. They also recently lost their capital investors causing them to downsize dramatically. They are currently running on a skeleton crew that will eventually sizzle out when the company goes under within the next 12 months.

I really enjoyed working at Workit Health. The work was easy and the days were flexible. The compensation could be better and there is little to no room for advancement. The company is new so there are always changes being made. Though the company is big on seeking everyone’s feedback and including everyone in the process of making the changes. It’s PTO and benefits are great and the ability to work from home is awesome. 

Poor management that over hires and then lays off employees. There were three rounds of lay offs in the time I was there. One minute I’m being approached about a leadership opportunity and the next week I’m laid off. They didn’t know if they were coming or going. And so many patients were left hanging when they shut down in 15 states. Very sad situation. This is the reason why some people should not be in leadership positions. 

There were too many corporate position which is bleeding the profits.  Most corporate individuals were recovering addicts and if you were not a recovering addict you felt like you did not fit in with the company.
