My life was miserable at WWCT.
I felt it on the very first day of work, by the tone of emails sent from the CTM to the whole CRA team, very unrespectful,  unprofessional and lack of work ethics. I couldn't believe the colleagues were treated that way. Study team Email's sent by managers signed with angry emoticons were the Norm. Managers write in emails that they have to step on the witch stick to talk to CRAs as if it were funny. 
I gave it the benefit of the doubt as I was new and thought it was just an isolated event. It got only worse. The TCs were a battlefield, managers were tiranus,  stressed,  unappreciative of the CRA team.
I got a calendar invite for a management meeting thinking I was genuinely and meant to be invited I logged in said my name and listened to the meeting it turned out I was not supposed to be included and got invited by mistake. The way managers talked about CRAs and colleagues was despicable. When they realized I was present, they asked me to log off and shortly after the CTA was fired.
CRAs were fired left and right, team members disappeared without notice making workload to Be assigned to me, with the premise that it was only temporarily. The reality was that It never was reassigned to someone else, manager said it was a light work load 20  sites to visit a month and 3 studies. Impossible.
Management bullies the employees, HR knows about it and allows it.
Micromanaging by the hour, creating fake issues trails that leads to made up performance improvement plans. With that work load no human being can keep up. Managers set up for failure as they over work people.   Unrealistic bidding for studies to award sponsors: they pitch a CRA will bill only 1 hour per MVR , will travel to sites across all the US, monitor and also manage regulatory, eTMF filing by themselves without CTA support. Direct hired CRA are assigned 3 studies and are not paid traveling time, overnight, overtime, and travel from coast to coast.
Bilingual CRAs are assigned to translate ICF and QC translations for multiple studies while traveling to sites.
Overall the experience was a nightmare.

The most evident aspect of the company is the rapid change associated with rapid growth. Although there are challenges, this is to be expected with a company rapidly moving to meet client demand.

I can only speak from my personal experience, but over the course of   many years, I've been given many opportunities to prove myself and advance my own career. I've had the opportunity to work with all areas and leadership to see the company from varied perspectives.

If I were to use the star-system as a rating (1-bad, 2-needs improvement, 3-average, 4-good, 5-excellent), in terms of my position, work/life balance is 5 (I'm intrinsically motivated and understand that time and productivity must be balanced to benefit the company, in turn, benefiting the employee). Compensation is a 4 -  truthfully speaking, everyone feels they should get paid more, so perfection is elusive. Job Security / Advancement is also a 4. No company seems invulnerable to the fluctuating market, but I feel I'm a strong contributor. Management is 4 - I'm given lots of autonomy, but could use a slightly more open line of communication. Additionally, all of my direct supervisors have allowed me to use them in a mentor-like capacity (helping me with advancement). Job culture sits at 3 due to the aforementioned breakneck pace of change and meeting client demand. I think the rating would be average with most similar companies.

My overall rating is at a 4 (if taking the other areas and averaging the total). If I were to give a tip to prospective applicants - be flexible and open to change - if something is wrong, find a way to fix it.

They are great regarding work/life balance, however, you have to find your own coverage for your studies. Expectations are high for meeting the high volume of work that is given.  They usually provide a mentor to new employees, but never follow up to see how that relationship is going.  If you get a bad mentor, you are out of luck. If you tell them you have not performed certain job duties, they will still assign them to you and tell you to re-take any training that is available.  This can be extremely difficult to do given the workloads, so a lot of after hours work needs to be included. But be careful, if you do that too much, you will also be told you should not work after hours.  I was there 3 years and had 7 different study mangers as they kept quitting.  In the site activation role, I know of 14 others who left in less than a year.  If you don't mind working non-stop or playing catch-up most of the time, this is the job for you.  Extremely stressful in most all positions, at least that is the main complaint that I kept being told about from other staff.  They are consistently short staffed, and in my opinion, they really need to revamp the required workloads.

While the recruiting team and management will sell you "pipe dreams" to make it seem like you'll have a promising career in a fun and inviting environment, it is a ploy. Management is grasping at straws to grow the company while losing clients and employees, left and right because it doesn't invest in or show they value their employees. 

While a couple of departments are actually run by decent managers, it's upper management that continues to push employees for more hours but with little recognition or appreciation outside of an occasional free lunch. If you're a part of support departments like IT or admin services,  you are dispensible and under appreciated. Most of the PMs lack knowledge and the CTAs could do a better job running their own studies.

Though you may make genuine connections among line employees, Worldwide Clinical Trials is full of nepotism, politic playing and office romances. No company is perfect and you'll find much of these things in other organizations but do yourself a favor and work somewhere where everyone is valued, appreciated and shows integrity by keeping the promises they make upon recruitment. If you do decide to work there, utilize it as a stepping stone, mind your own business, don't tell anyone about yours, and be prepared to work your butt off.

Site Startup contracts department is not the place to be in this company. The department is ill-managed and unprofessional on several levels. Co-workers are nice initially, but if you are not a "clique(ish) person or gossip girl" you won't fit in. Management carries on like high school mean girls and gives more consideration to frivolous and petty things like what you are wearing to work and less about the professional decorum of the department and carrying themselves as such. There are NO departmental written protocols, SOP's or training of any kind in this department. Good luck getting answers to your questions from management you're better off finding it on your own. This department is simply a collection of people who have been working in their various roles/positions for so long that they proceed in their job function out of route memory. There is also a severe lack of consolidated databases and information on top of lack of training on said internal processes. Repeat business is a hardship for this company as a whole. If Start-up is miss managed than the entire study will suffer.
I highly recommend if you want to get hired on at this company that it not be in this department. Ask around and do your homework before you do. The turnover in this department alone is the highest in the company. DON"T DO IT! Good luck to anyone who does!

This company has a very high turn over rate and low pay.  When I worked their half of the lab (about 15 people) were coming, fired, or on their way out and the other 15 people were some institutionalized.  Almost no growth opportunities, unless you consider hangout in the extraction lab for 5 years just to look at LC/MS machine and that is only if your one of the best.  The LC/MS lab has it made with really no obligations, so the work between the labs is highly unbalanced.  The documentation or LIMS system they have is absolutely horrible.  Learning this LIMS is composed of 3-4 different programs, some that only work when buttons or clicked in a way that doesn't crash the system.  Inventory and weighing, aliquoting process is an art of black magic at this company along with their automated aliquoating machines.  Learning from their lead  tech was almost impossible and management had no backbone or leadership capabilities.  This would be a good company if you had a doctorate degree and worked in the method development side.  The buck or blame at this company is almost always directed in some form or fashion onto the lab techs, even though most of their methods are some what bogus.  I hope this helps future applicants to consider the lab tech occupations at this company before applying, because of the  tension, low job stability and high turnover rate.

As a manager for the inpatient clinic department, you have no work life balance. If you are the only medically licensed manager,, you will oversee a team of up to 40 full-time and PRN employees ranging from RN to paramedics to technicians for a 24 hour seven day a week facility. You will not only be responsible for managing the team, but also ensuring any open shifts are filled in by you or your staff. If there is any failure on the floor, you will be given full blame to offset the responsibility from upper management.  Hourly employees do well except during slow periods where they will cut your hours to a minimum of 32 hours a week. If you are looking for an hourly role, this could be a good place to work depending on your team. Upper management is toxic though so as a manager, beware. All the blame will cascade to you.  The team lead II role being promoted at the time we have very little to no upper management support as the manager role is currently empty. Directors are either new or do not know how to guide you on clinical procedures. Open management is very disorganized and unaware of the processes that occurred on the clinical floor, including most steady conduct procedures.   Please beware of this company.

When I started working at WCT Inc, I never thought I would experience so many challenges and that I would grow and learn as much as I have.
 
It's been 4 years now working as a SrCRA;  with my previous ten years of monitoring experience, WCT allowed me to work in clinical research with the concentration of CN studies and Phase 1 studies. Because of that I've been exposed to some cutting edge research that will soon benefit people who are living with Alzeheimer, Bi polar, MODD, Schizophrenia and bvFTD. 

During my time at WCT, our company has experience continual growth in different areas of research with the biggest in CNS and Cardiology. What makes this company a success it's all about striving for the quality of work and not just making the numbers. 

I enjoy working at WCT because I'm apart of a team in which I'm respected by my fellow collegues as well as upper management. facing new challenges because of recent company growth, understanding how important my position to WCT, making good/sound decisions on a daily basis and sharing my ideas to a very approachable managerial team. 

I am grateful to WCT as I have found in this company the opportunity to grow in my professional life.

Have you seen the movie Get out? From BD winning studies this company doesn't have capability or resources to fulfill to the launch meetings where the project managers make promises to sponsor's contrary to regulations and company SOP's, know that if you choose to work here you will be blamed for everything and anything that goes wrong with a study. The PM is never to blame and Benton and Bowser still can't figure out why there is high turnover. Instead they tell everyone how great the company is doing for the first 3 quarters, then on the 4th they tell us how poorly the company is doing and how pitiful the company which of course affects the measly bonus held out as the prize for the end of the year. To top it off, the unlimited PTO just means that when someone decides to leave this nightmare of unlimited work hours where vacations are non-existent, they won't even have a vacation payout. This just add insult to injury. 

If you chose to work here, just know vacation and family time is only the privilege afforded to the EU team who take annual leave every other week. No joke. Good luck!

This is a great place if you're fresh out of college and looking to learn about bioanalysis and GLP. If you have an advanced degree or looking to be fairly compensated, keep on going. Benefits are good and coworkers are great, but management has been in shambles for two years. One senior management member who's been with the company for less than a year is currently trying to do the job of three open upper management positions. There is next to no support or leadership from our current president. Two upper managers openly hate each other and create a completely toxic, dysfunctional environment. Impossible time lines are handed out by inexperienced managers, equipment is old and run down, they are critically understaffed and employee recognition is non existent. Their COVID policy is immoral and unethical. They would rather us stay in the dark and keep working than be informed and safe. Unlimited PTO is a complete lie, a bookkeeping maneuver to reduce debt. HR does nothing to improve conditions. Morale has never been so low.
