You don't find many employers like Wynalda Packaging anymore!  They truly treat their employees well and can tell they really care about their staff and their customers.  Once every couple months they bring in catered meals to the employees on all shifts and you can really tell they are appreciative of the hard work we do!  Everything at Wynalda Packaging is very well-maintained.  It is by far the cleanest and most organized place I have ever worked.  We work hard in production and typically get very busy, but the work stays interesting because we get a good variety of projects and the plant manager moves people around frequently to do other jobs.  Everyone here is very friendly and respectful, it's a great place to work.

I've worked here a long time.  Things here aren't perfect (no company is) but I feel loved, needed and can contribute to what the company needs on an ongoing basis.   The company cares for it's employees and their families and wants to look out for what's best for them.  Don't let a few bad-ex employees reviews cause you to stop and not read the good ones to follow.  Most people who work at WP have been there for many years and enjoy the stability and work environment.  

Review job orders due for the day. Check to see if jobs are done from press area, Make sure jogger operator have right job orders and are doing job properly. Set up machine according to orders and checking  labels making sure it matches the job ticket. Making sure packers and box thrower has the right material to do job accordingly. Making sure jobs has the right amount for order to be complete.If orders are short, make sure my counts are correct and check boxes for mix products on load or in boxes. Also check for press defects such as hickies, water spots, wrinkle sheets and smash on blankets.

As material Handler, they put all the work load on one person then some. Making the same guy for many of years, take care of the scrap room at two locations (other building is across the street) and all he ever does is complain about how they promise to get him more help, but fire his help within a couple of weeks. The pay is very low and makes it feel not worth all of the effort. Besides doing your own tasks, you’re constantly being nagged to help others, and if you don’t, you look bad. HR is a joke too, I won’t get started on that. Just a bad place overall. They don’t care about employees.

They only go through temp services for feeder/catcher positions, but machine operators are hired with in the company. Some jobs are very fast paced to where you hardly are given time to inspect the parts and they move you all around, so you are not always on the same job. Many people are in and out of there because they can't keep up, either by workers choice or supervisors choice. Most feeders/catchers are still temps after years of working there. Not many people stay. Good thing about the place is clean and temperature controlled.

This was a great place to learn die-cutting as a skill since I was able to learn from very experienced tradesmen.

I am still a temp after 2 years, even though I am in a full-time position and they don't pay a living wage. There are people that have been here for years without a raise.

The atmosphere is air-conditioned, safe, and clean, with friendly, easy to get along with co-workers.

The management is reactive instead of proactive, with many situations that could be avoided with a little better planning.

The trainers are absolutely terrible at training you. They hardly teach you anything and expect you to know what you are doing. They also ignore you 90% of the time instead of using any free time to train the new people. Managers aren’t involved at all. You hardly see them around. Employees that have been there for a while are very rude to new employees. Most of the job you aren’t doing anything. They tell you to grab a rag and wipe random equipment down just to look busy. Don’t bother wasting your time because you will be looking for a new job within a few weeks.

Wynalda Packaging is a family owned and operated business that has grown leaps and bounds over the last 20 years and continues to do so. Because of that growth, and like any growing company, there are growing pains. From my experience, Wynalda management is making a concerted effort to minimize those growing pains and maximize the opportunity for growth. There is opportunity for professional advancement if you have a good attitude and prove your work ethic and abilities. The company as a whole is very generous and rewards those who do their job well.

Company gives you a feeling of self worth, every one is concerned about your well-being and makes sure you are happy with your job. Knowing that the owner, managers, supervisors, leads and HR representatives are willing to listen.

During this past year, 2020, this job has had plenty of ups and downs. The job is not always easy, but there has always been a job to do.  A typical day, as a feeder, putting product into the machine to be folded. as a catcher, inspecting folded product coming off the machine and putting it into a carton/box to be shipped out. Stripping, removing scrap material from a skid of product that has been die-cut.
