I’m currently a RN in the Virginia market with ConnectRN; and for the most part, the major flaw with the company is just like with any and all healthcare lately, it’s a business. Meaning the focus seems to be more on the money, and less on the clinicians.
For instance, I have heard stories of clinicians being DNR’d from facilities without even hearing the clinician’s side of the story. Why? I can only speculate, but I feel ConnectRN may feel if they show support of the clinician in the face of the facilities, who are paying hefty amounts to have us there, they would lose the contract, therefore lose the money… so no concern to the clinician who is now losing money.
Also there is a policy that will allow 4-hr of pay if you get canceled 4 hours before shift start. However the facilities will wait until 6:59pm to cancel you for an 11pm shift, now leaving you with no compensation AND no shifts to pick up because they are all gone. Some weeks have gone by and I have been canceled every shift I have been accepted for, I have also seen other clinicians with this complaint. It would be nice if ConnectRN made it so it was a limit on how many times a clinician can be canceled in one week.
The last thing I will touch on is the overtime polices that are now floating around. ConnectRN has giving some facilities the right to not “offer overtime”. Legally, we all know that if we WORK overtime we must be paid for it. So the work around for this is to block the “Connectors” from being able to see shifts at said facilities if it would possibly send you into overtime. So if I work 4-12’s at facility A, and facility B has an available 4-hr shift available, I would be automatically blocked from picking up that shift.

You can never talk to anybody except for customer service who doesn't have full access of what they can and can't do so it's like talking to a wall second you can't talk to payroll at all you can only send them an email and half the time the emails don't come through they only come back to you is undeliverable so when you're not able to talk to somebody about your money it gets a little irritating and if you don't mind not getting your check on time or not being able to talk to payroll or anybody else except for customer service this job's for you but if you are working pretty much for free weekly and you don't get a paycheck until like 4 to 5 days after your pay period because they seem to lose your banking information multiple times and you have to keep sending emails after emails after emails and it gets nowhere and their updates to you is maybe 48 hours you'd be lucky I wouldn't waste your time your travel your miles on your vehicle don't even bother working here it's useless and the people are very unprofessional and rude and nasty people and they don't like talking to you at all and they have attitude especially some of them and customer service don't work there.

It can be rough if a facility treats you badly or unfair connect doesn’t have enough policies to protect workers 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It was rough days  ok money they need to pay more and offer better benefits make facilities pay when they cancel you no matter if it’s before 4 hours till shift because you set aside that time for work and it’s nothing for you if they cancel you within 4 hours prior to your shift but a facility can penalize you if you call out whether it’s in a timely manner or not, that’s not fair they need more policies and procedures in place for their employees as well

Changing how nurses work isn't easy but it is very fulfilling. Every day I know that my work is having ripple effects across thousands of nurses which is pretty amazing. Separate from the mission itself, I really enjoy the culture. Everyone at cRN genuinely cares about creating a welcoming and diverse environment. We have open conversations about social/political issues respecting the difference in opinions. It's very different and refreshing from other places in tech where I have worked.

Over time we have experienced some growing pains. There has been a lot of change as we have scaled from a couple dozen employees to 200+ in under 6 months. I personally enjoy the fast-paced nature but acknowledge that it isn't for everyone. I know I can take whatever time off I need to recharge with our flexible PTO plan though which is nice.

ConnectRN claims to support its employees but it doesn’t not. I’ve had many issues where I had to fight for my pay, contact payroll multiple times becside I was not paid correctly. If a facility does not approve you time sheet you will NOT be paid although ConnectRN has the ability to see you onsite location for the duration of the shift. They are not considerate of an employees life outside of work. I once was in a car accident, sent in prof of the accident I was still marked as inexcusable absence although I was in the hospital, they excepted mento come in for a shift I notified them hours before that I would not be able tot attend. Overall the only perk I’ve found is that you can make your own schedule.

Now they introduce new systems without properly informing the workers they only really care about themselves they’ve completely taken away overtime the pay is low you are not protected from last minute shift cancellation it used to be within four hours you got four hours of pay now it’s within two hours of your shift which makes it absolutely impossible to find another shift you are expected to bend over backwards for a company that doesn't care about you trying to get in contact with someone for help will have you waiting forever and they’ll try to get you to email instead of call which can takes days to get a reply it really isn't worth it anymore I used to tell all my nursing friends to join this company and I’m so glad most of them didn’t because it’s just a hot mess now so sad honestly 

Huge nameless faceless corporation, only contacts you have is with receptionists that "email" your concerns to an arbitrary department. I do not have a supervisor I can ask questions to, you cannot even speak to someone in payroll, there is no direct line of communication, and half the time they never respond to the "emails" the receptionists send (Or the emaila you send). Very vindictive in dealing with disputes or misunderstandings on assignments on ConnectRN app, not concerned at all about ones family issues such as medical issues or deaths in the family. They will suspend you without a given reason and with no notice, directly affecting ones livelyhood and finances. If you have a perfect life and schedule, ConnectRN may be for you, but for those with actual lives they will refuse to work with you. I implore you to move on to a company that supports their employees and respects the work/life balance.

This company has  “cancel free shifts” every facility here in my area is on cancel free, so you have to fill something out online and someone is supposed to call you in 48 hrs I think it was and discuss this with us and you can’t pick up any of those shifts until then. I have been waiting a week, I called several times and they said mine was routed to someone and they should be calling and still nobody has. I did however get an email that said they are pausing them until after thanksgiving because of high demand, so I can’t pick up any shifts even though I was told twice someone would call me. So basically they have someone here that is ready to work but they’re now allowing me to do so because they have this for every company except for one. Why create something like that if you can’t meet the demands to keep up with it? 

I will never work with this company again. I live in md and worked in pa for this because they paid more (just a little) it’s easier for me to get jobs in pa than md. This company suspended me because I stopped working at the facilities because they were paying me weeks later . Imagine driving over an hour to work at unprofessional facilities who never have anything , including ppe or things for residents and also facilities who are rude to residents.  An then on top of the stress from the jobs you don’t even get paid when your supposed to be which means .. (late bills!!) get it together . Communication sucks , you can never get in contact with them once your on board … overall terrible . This job only contributed to my financial problems and stress . 


So much could be said, but the bottom line is that this company has been mismanaged for years and they continue to do the same thing over and over even when business declines.  Leadership makes knee jerk decisions based on emotions, often contradicting the culture and benefits they tout as a reason to work there.  They gaslight their employees, make up policies and pretend they were always in place.  No amount of work or effort you put in will ever be enough and you will hear you are mediocre at best.  And there have been 2 layoffs in 6 months.  For these reasons you may want to reconsider working here.
