The company was fun to work for, but as an American you struggle for any career advancement with non American owners. 

The corporate culture of the business for career growth is nepotism, if you are not related to one of the owners do not expect much from the company over time.  I have been promised a new position for the last several years, but I keep getting sucked back into my current job role as the clients do not want a non American in charge of their accounts.

Many team leads are over their heads and barely able to keep their teams afloat.  The team leads 'listen' but do not understand the issues/concerns their employees are facing with the internal/external customers. The team leads do not know how to train employees on product deployment.  You get basic instructions, no follow up, and have to use the school of hard knocks approach as many times what is taught is not reality. ((Working for a software company demands an open mind for a fluid industry, but the flood gates are almost always open) which makes it a challenge for sure.)

Many policies/standards are enforced, which is great, many times they are not, it depends on who is doing the enforcement and it does effect your output.

Work flows, which drive this company forward are inconsistent.  The implementation department is mostly consistent while the bulk of the other departments are not.  Very hard to get a product live when it is partly developed (happens all the time)., 

Recent rumors, company is finally going to hire a compliance officer, which is badly needed.  If they can get over this and other issues this will be a great company to work for long term.

Again, if you are able to get hired, it is a great place to start a new career but be prepared to move on within a few years as you and your career will get stagnant.

Please understand, I am not against this company, many folks do care, both the Americans and the other non American employees, as the end user of the product is who in the end is the most important.

This is a good starter place If you’re straight out of college. The clients are rude and entitled. They will treat you less than human just to get their way and management fosters this behavior by bending over backwards to client demands. 
One of the owners is known for yelling and backing employees into a corner while berating them in front of the entire office. You are expected to work harder and longer with little compensation for your work. 
The company is only interested in developing new features to sell than they are interested in making sure the product they have works. 
They roll out half baked products, then clients get angry when they realize they’ve been sold a product that’s not ready for production. The anger falls on powerless employee like myself. I donte Blame the clients for being angry because something is always broken in the system.
Constant calls in queue. From the moment you start work to the moment you go home there is no time to catch a breath. The pay isn’t worth the work they expect you to do. In call center you are expected to pick up the extra work with no pay raises because the company cannot retain employees. 
I have heard a manager say “if you don’t like it here then leave” is this any way to address employee concerns?? 
People are promoted based on family connections. Which has led to unqualified people in decision making positions. 
I don’t see this company surviving long term.

For new clients that have signed up, I help them through the entire implementation process (pre and post). I assist clients customize their system before they go live hence making sure they are well versed with the product before they actually get trained on it.

I provide them with customized workflow analysis and training agendas based on the needs of their practice.

The most enjoyable part of my job is to see the clients enjoying building their system the way they would like it, and being successful users.

My typical day at work consists of making sure all my clients that are live with the software are adapting well to the new system. Along with that I am the point person for all escalations and issues. I take client satisfaction very seriously and make sure they are getting the best out of the system.

I track my clients for Meaningful Use compliance, if they are not I explain to them what needs to be done differently to achieve Meaningful Use.

Nepotism. Poor Benefits. Viscous Politics. No Advancement. Poor Holidays (unless India) Lack of Trust. Micromanage Culture. Argumentative Culture. 

Too many meetings, too much pressure to complete work in a very fast pace environment. A lot of fighting and arguing, a lot of stress on everyone. Lot's of bad bosses and lot's of micromanagers. You will never feel inspired to do better, just to get by. You definitely will not receive credit for hard work unless you market it. You have to take every personal day or vacation day by end of year, no rollovers. The 401k 3% is a joke. Pay raises have gone downhill. It's boring work, very repetitive with little to no upgrades. Overall, not a good company to work for. 

Don’t bother applying - this company will misrepresent everything that will be said during the interview process. There is nothing that you won’t be lied to about because management doesn’t share the truth with its employees. 

This company is privately owned dictatorship and the only individuals that maintain marginal influence are directly related to the owners. 

Please, I implore you, look somewhere else. There are many great healthcare/IT opportunities out there - but they’re not here. Almost a decade of my life has been burned at this place hoping for things to change, but they have only become worse.

eClinicalWorks has a culture of extreme nepotism. If you are not with the "in" crowd, which requires you to often be of a certain ethnicity, or play by certain rules (unwritten), or not family, then your chance for advancement is slim to none. If you speak up about anything here, you will be blacklisted. Management is extremely underqualified and there is no leadership whatsoever. Leaders will assist their friends who they spend time with out of work, but if you do not spend time with the outside of work or go along with their immoral ways, you will be shunned. Often literally stuck in a corner, or have your role changed until you quit.

Pros

- It is a good place to start your career
- You will get to learn about the healthcare industry
- The company has a good name in the market so your experience will count when you decide to move on
- The CEO is motivating

Cons

- Too much politics
- People higher up like to follow destructive methods e.g. throwing others under the bus for their own benefits
- They wish to control every move of the employee e.g. lunch breaks
- They prefer to pass executive policies instead of eliminating the root cause of the problem
- Growth is limited to the favorites or instruction followers
- Fear policy is implemented on every step
- Management turns a blind eye to harassment
- People on the inner circle of management love to abuse their powers

I will preface this review with this statement, my manager and I did not get along. Our personalities clashed in the worst ways and I did not feel respected or valued in the time I spent at this job (6 months). I was not given adequate training for the position I was hired for. From the beginning I felt like I was written off as someone who had below-average competency at the position and thus was not given any tools to improve my performance. My colleagues were all professional and friendly, but if management did not like your personality, then there was nothing to be done to change their mind. 

Team Lead/Manager disorganized, weak communicator. Poor management/leadership. Unprofessional. 
You 'll be a scapegoat while the team lead gets the kudos. No support or training when product upgrades implemented.
Management turns a blind eye on harassment and discrimination; eCW breaks their own company rules such stated in employee handbook. 
Poor work/family balance: They expect you in the office and available 24/7. Little respect for employees. Only favorites allowed to work from home. Growth is limited to those favorites which are all family! Nepotism is the norm.
Be wary! don't settle for a generous first offer - they're desperate for good workers!

I love my job.  I am given the tools I need to effectively reach my goals, and I feel that I am able to work alongside my team lead to develop new internal processes and outreach strategies.  The cafeteria is great, and there's really no "bad" place to sit and work.  There's a lot of exposure to different cultures, which is super cool.  I've found that management may not always communicate the most recent updates on project/services, and sometimes there can be a lot of miscommunication between departments (I would expect that, though, when you are working on huge updates that require 5+ teams to coordinate and be on the same page).
