EviCore promises a lot of things when you’re recruited: advancement, job stability, bonuses and a plethora of other things that it absolutely fails to commit to. 

I’ve been with EviCore since January. In the beginning, it was a great job. Everyone respected everyone, my supervisors were great and cared about my team mates and I and I never felt a negative energy or feeling towards my job. I came in, did my job, and left. Ever since I’ve worked at EviCore I’ve qualified for the bonus. Depending on your bonus, it’s anywhere from an extra $150-250 on your check once a month after taxes is taken out. 

Imagine busting your behind everyday for this job to be paid $14 an hour, plus an ~extra~ $150-250 once a month on a check for putting up with abuse from angry callers (who are RIGHTFULLY angry), as well as knowing your company you work for is Evil. Understand this: everything about the pay and benefits I just mentioned are already bad enough, but factor in the fact that EviCore denies CANCER patients left and right their care as well as poor people who are just trying to get MRI’s and CT’s for their fractures and pain, is the straw that breaks the camels back. It’s sad. You have people calling in and directing their anger at you because of the terrible things EviCore does to ensure you don’t get your care. You have the options of Peer to Peers and other things but half the time our doctors don’t check any cases or actually care. 

Work life balance is okay. M-F with weekends and holidays off is nice, but for such little pay and abuse you deal with constantly, it’s not worth it. It’s sad that I’d rather work weekends and overtime just to know for sure that I’m making more than $14 an hour. 

Now let’s move on to supervisors and advancement. You have to jump through hoops just to reach Rep II, which is whoopy, a whole $1 raise. When you hit Rep III (which is a supervisor without the title, you’re just responsible for WAY MORE), you’re finally making $16 an hour which is still totally not acceptable. Now at these 2 advancements~~ you get more bonuses but they’re still heavily taxed and simply not worth it. Oh, did I mention bonuses are based off of your scorecard? 

Now, the scorecard. When i began in January the scorecard seemed fair. Do your job, get audits, and hit your goals, but don’t do “too well” otherwise we’ll write you up or say you’re working too much. Seriously. This is EviCore’s thought process. I’ve had peers make more than 100 calls a day and get into trouble because they’re “too good.” The calls get audited for just about anything. You could sneeze and someone would ding you for not muting yourself. The scorecard prevents you from advancing and from making a bonus. It’s actually sad. They’ve added SO MANY things to the scorecard and made it actually impossible for anyone to reach their goal. & what happens when you don’t reach your goal? You get written up. It’s actually sad. 

Just run. This job is good if you’re in high school and need funds quick. The job is easy but there’s way too much responsibility and abuse from both the callers and the supervisors to be paid a measley $4. The job is boring, redundant and they don’t allow you to do anything else as far as different segments. 

If you have kids — run. The WORST care I’ve ever seen for parents. I’ve had several friends get written up for having to take their kids to day care or school even AFTER ASKING for a SCHEDULE CHANGE! How is that fair?! Make it make sense! Just run! And fast! 

Imagine being taken for granted and being treated poorly at a job for so long that you're willing to quit and look for work elsewhere during a pandemic because that's the experience you will have with evicore. The most recent issue I've ran into was that I was working 10 hour shift Monday-Thursday. Due to personal reasons, I needed my schedule changed back to my original schedule which was 8 hours Monday-Friday. I asked my supervisor for SIX MONTHS if it was possible to update my schedule and all she would ever say is that WFM never responded to my schedule change request anytime she questioned them about it. I watched for six month while other people got their schedule's changed to the schedule I've been requesting so I finally called it quits and found a much better opportunity with another company. The same day I notified my supervisor that I would be giving her my 2 weeks notice, she magically some how was able to get my schedule changed within an hour which tells my she probably could have done it when I first asked but didn't want to. On my last day of work, I asked my supervisor if she had any feedback for me good or bad that I can either continue with my new career or something that needed work... Her response was to me that I need to advocate for myself more and that because I've been so flexible with everything the company needed from me, she didn't take my schedule change seriously and thought I would be flexible with that also even though she knew how important it was for me to get my schedule changed. Run from this company while you have the chance because once they see that you're reliable and a hard worker, they'll take advantage of you every chance that they get. I went above and beyond for this company and never asked for anything other than my schedule being changed. From personal experience, supervisor will talk negatively about you with other supervisors while you're an ear shot away. If you work from home, you'll be asked to come in office to work for the day with next to no notice. It's extremely hard to move up in the company. Advice for anyone to does decide to work here, if you have an opportunity to interview for the next rep level, pretty much all you have to do is say you're willing to sell your soul for company needs. Once you become a rep III/senior rep, there's no more promotions or career growth and it's impossible to move to any other departments. Pay is mediocre. Supervisors and management doesn't genuinely care about you regardless of how much they say they do. It took me a long time to learn but at this job you have to know somebody who knows somebody to get any changes made or move up within the company.

I have been employed at CareCore for almost 5 years and have watched it grow from a partially-filled building in South Carolina and smaller Colorado and New York offices into TWO overflowing buildings in SC, plus a growing office in CO...AND a huge remote workforce. Everyone's experience is different, but this has been mine.
I worked in my initial position for 4 years. When my current position was posted, I knew it would be a perfect fit. My supervisors were very supportive and encouraging because they recognized that I had the skills to do much more than I was. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with many departments, and In each one I have worked with, everyone has been friendly and helpful. (FWIW - Every company has people who are unhappy to be there or who are ineffective managers.)
I personally know many current employees who have had the chance to advance and are very happy in what they are doing. Some are call-center, some are not. And some people are happy doing what they are doing and have not tried to move up.
The employee culture is definitely evolving...the new CEO has a very different management philosophy and he is working hard to make sure it finds its way all through the company. They are also doing more to recognize and retain GOOD employees.
If I had to find any negatives, I would probably say that the high-deductible health insurance can be costly. However, preventative medicine (vaccines, well baby visits, annual exams) is covered at 100%. And I do not know of many other companies that contribute to their employee's Health Savings Accounts. I have not paid out of pocket for anything except for a hospital stay when my son was born and a couple of trips to Urgent Care. I also dislike the 1/2 hour for lunch-there isn't much nearby so you're somewhat limited in that respect. They did bring in a lunch truck, though, and that helps.
I plan to stay with CareCore long-term-it is a great place to make a career.

I have been with this company for 2 years. I have had issues with supervisors being inappropriate, lies being told to providers AND patients, and a serious lack of incentive or raises. I understand the call center world is not one to make a career out of. However, this company promises advancement and incentive at hire. Its been two years and there are no incentives and small raises. The company recently moved location and have spent a pretty penny buying furniture, fake plants and flat screen TVs... but are reluctant to share any success with the employees they make their money off of. The department heads side with supervisors regardless of who is right, and have fired people for making valid complaints regarding hostile work environments. Supervisors can literally talk  about you, in front of other managers, in front of YOU, and not be held accountable. Its high school. Not work. 

The management is NOT competent at all. They do pretty much whatever they want. Need help? Don't bother asking. The programs they use are a joke- there's outages constantly and whenever it happens, management runs around yelling at people. 

The CEO sends out emails talking about the company growth- but the front line has seen no growth! There are NO opportunities for advancement. The new hires are treated like royalty and given opportunities that tenured agents are passed over for. They promise too much and provide too little. 

The desks are tiny and have NO privacy. The doctors and nurses are overworked and rude. There's no accountability when an agent messes up a case- they're told to lie to the caller.  These poor providers jump through hoops when this company makes mistake after mistake, that costs people their health because of delayed cases!

The merger between eviCore and Medsolutions completely TRASHED this company. There is no trust between agent and manager and no company morale. 

DO NOT come to work here!

I was recruited for a medical director position, and assigned to the general division that adjudicates MRI’s, CT scans, PET scans, and the like.  I was told I’d be spending the majority of my time adjudicating cases in, or similar to, my specialty.  However, I spend the bulk of my time working oncology cases.  I have zero background or training in oncology.   The absolute worst parts are the back-to-back peer to peer calls that are scheduled every 15 minutes.  I had as many as 25 peer to peer calls in a single day, the majority of which are with oncologists who are irate that their PET scans were denied.  I also get assigned peer to peer calls for nuclear medicine and vascular studies I’ve never heard of, for diseases I’ve only read about in medical school.  eviCore makes very little effort to match up specialties for either the written cases or the peer to peer cases in this general division.  It’s a shame, since there are so many talented physicians working for eviCore.  If you are an oncologist, then you would probably like this job.  Otherwise, steer clear.  I am actively applying elsewhere.  I would probably stay if they gave me cases within my specialty.  I dread sitting down every morning at my computer, facing another 20 PET scan peer-to-peer calls.  Meanwhile, the oncologists email me about cases assigned to them that are in my specialty! 
Other issues are constant IT problems.  My computer crashes frequently.  On average, I have to call IT twice a week to get my software running again.  One insulting aspect of the job:  you will be audited and graded by nurses.  Don’t expect a big bonus - it’s only a couple k’s, despite the fact that Cigna boasts about their unprecedented profits.  
For the positives, I get to work at home, and eviCore is good at letting me switch some hours around for doctors appointments.  


A typical day at Evicore may be different each time. It is all based on who the caller may be and what there experience may have been before they get to you. It is your job and opportunity to help calm down a hyper customer and serve with what ever help they need. Or it may be a very pleasant caller who you still have the pleasure to assist to the next level. One would answer the call, make sure they have what is required by the criteria or guideline of their insurance and provide them with an authorization if it meet the approval. If it does not, then one must sent that case on to the doctors who handle cases that did not meet the indications. Then the next calls come through, over and over all day. This job is not on your own time, but is on a planned out schedule that management has designed, lunch, break and anything out side of handling calls will be put to a particular schedule. Then at the end of the day, you close out and go home after logging off about 4 or 5 components for security. Then you start again tomorrow.You are constantly learning about different medical conditions, you speak with people from all walks of like with different languages, we do have interpreting available if you need it. The most difficult part of this job is to try your best to retrieve the clinical data needed in order to process the case along, from mostly non-clinical callers who don't understand medical terms. The best part is that you can work from home, no gas, no getting dressed up, you can work from the comfort of your own home

Working as a non clinical intake rep definitely gets boring quick. You take at least 80- 100 calls a day doing the same thing over and over. The people who callnin definitely feel entitled to everything and some callers will treat you like dirt because you're non clinical. More often than not, callers will be upset with you because of things beyond your control. Supervisors are pretty much there to just sit around all day and talk to their friends.  When you start this job, you hear how there is always opportunity for advancement which is false for ISAAC reps because you have to be cross trained to get promoted but supervisors are unwilling to cross train reps in anything else. You also get a set schedule but some of the schedules aren't so great and they don't have schedule bids every so ofter. My schedule is 8:30 to 5 wich is nice in a perfect world but it's hard to handle any personal business and unless you have pto/vto, you can't take off to handle things. The culture here is great but it's not a very diverse work place. Occasionally they do offer free lunches and there is free coffee and tea everyday.  They also don't have great options for health/vision/dental insurance. They pretty much give you 1 option and if you don't want to go with that, you have to get insurance elsewhere. They also don't pay well considering the job you do.

A typical work day started out preparing my desktop components by clocking in, puling up at least 5 to 7 tabs  between dual monitors to begin my day, and ensuring that everything was functioning well. Once logged in, taking calls as nonclinical, for certifications, authorizations, and notifications for ordering doctors or rendering sites as well as meeting patients inquiries and channeling to clinical reviewers, or doctors review when needed.
I learned to work with patience, be efficient, be productively and to accommodate the customers all while meeting the goals of the company regarding the service they provide.
Management was very supportive to ensures employees were educated with pertinent information to perform jobs well.. They also provided incentives, and perks to build the moral of the employees to let them know that their work does not go unappreciated.
I would say the hardest part of the job was trying to meet certain goals of achievements. In adherence obtaining bonuses was at times not within reach due to meeting the call volume and the individual needs of each caller.
The most enjoyable part of the job was being in the first class to launch the company in the new St. Louis office. Learning the job, what the companies expectation was of the employees and vice versa., and feeling confident in knowing you are executing  to expectation.

This is a bad place to work for so many reasons. I can't go into all of them here; it would take up too much space.
There is no autonomy and no way to advance in this job. If you "master" the job and get burned out by the repetition of the daily work; too bad. They will not allow you to move up.
Even if you know you have mastered your daily grind you will still get LOW audits. This is because they take off for just about anything clinical and NON clinical. You can score low on an audit for simply having too many mistakes in the non clinical parts ; like asking a caller to repeat certain things because you could not hear the caller. This is most likely how they "weed" people out of the job anyway.
The pay is really very low. In training, you are told you can make up to 30 dollars an hour. This is not true. When you work at home you make a pittance for each call you make. They often make it difficult to keep your numbers up. Over a certain number of calls you do in a day; you are only paid half for each call after this magical number. You are not told this at hire. But you find it out as you start working and trying to make money.

I would not recommend this job to anyone ; especially anyone that is a sole breadwinner for a family. It is NOT a stable job.

As a professional, I found myself living pay check to paycheck. This was unacceptable.

I started off as an Intake Representative in the call center with this company, which, unlike Most call centers that I’ve worked at, this call-center was pretty stress-free. We basically assisted mostly providers (doctors, nurses, medical personnel from different facilities) to complete a prior authorizations for upcoming medical procedures for their patients. 

Occasionally members themselves do call in regarding the authorization, but primarily you’re speaking with professional individuals who been doing their jobs for awhile, which makes the process smoother and easier when they call in. You don’t have to explain as much to providers as you typically would members, but you still have to be knowledgeable enough to at least answer, basic questions. 

Management within the call center weren’t micromanagers to me because of course everything is measured by metrics, but they are very helpful and knowledgeable And for the most part polite.

I Migrated to the claims department within a year four months and have been in that position for a year. There is room to grow, As long as you’re keeping your eyes open on the career board for open positions. Also, when it comes to going to different departments or being promoted, management is always very supportive of your goals.

My biggest complaint with this job is it could definitely pay more! They’re anlittle stingy with the pay.
