Full Job Description

Tier 1 Help Desk Technician

Location: North Canton, Ohio
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $45,000–$50,000 per year, based on experience

About Intech

Intech Computer Solutions is a growing Managed Services Provider helping small and mid-sized businesses get the most out of their technology. We provide responsive IT support, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and strategic technology guidance to our clients.

We are looking for a motivated Tier 1 Help Desk Technician to join our Managed Services team in North Canton, Ohio.

Position Overview

This position is ideal for someone with a foundation in IT support who wants to build a long-term career in managed services. You will gain exposure to Microsoft 365, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, networking, and a wide variety of business environments while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians.

Previous MSP experience is a plus, but not required. We are looking for someone who communicates well, enjoys solving problems, and wants to keep growing technically.

Responsibilities

Respond to service tickets and support requests from client users.
Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 workstation issues.
Support Microsoft 365 users, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Assist with user onboarding, offboarding, password resets, and account administration.
Configure laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and basic peripherals.
Troubleshoot basic networking issues, including internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, and DHCP.
Escalate more complex technical issues to senior technicians when appropriate.
Maintain accurate ticket notes, time entries, and documentation.
Follow standard processes and contribute to knowledge base documentation.
Provide professional, friendly support to end users.
Assist with client projects and technology deployments as needed.

Required Qualifications

1–3 years of IT support experience.
Basic understanding of:
Microsoft 365
Windows 10/11
Active Directory
User account administration
Networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs, and Wi-Fi
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong customer service mindset.
Ability to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider.
CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
Experience working within a ticketing system.
Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
Exposure to cloud technologies and endpoint management.
Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days, you will be expected to:

Learn Intech's ticketing, documentation, and support processes.
Handle common Tier 1 support tickets with increasing independence.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members.
Accurately document work performed and escalate issues appropriately.
Build a strong foundation for continued growth into more advanced technical responsibilities.
