Missoula Bookkeeper is a full services bookkeeping firm for small businesses in Western MT and throughout the US

Position Summary

We currently serve almost 100 clients in a variety of industries and sizes. The Payroll Manager will manage and maintain payroll for all clients that utilize that service. Clients range from single owner LLCs with only owner payroll to businesses and organizations with 30+ employees and complex benefit and compensation packages. We have an aggressive 5-year growth plan and we would like to see this position grow with the business.

Employment

Starts at 20 hours per week, but could grow to 30 by the end of the year. Mostly remote/some in person. Two weekly video team meetings with additional meetings with clients as needed. Hours will be 4 hrs 5 days per week or 5 hrs, 4 days a week. Flexibility on the actual hours, but must be during the 9-5 work day. Room for long term growth for the right person. Twice a year, 3-4 day in person Team Retreat required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Payroll:

Create an effective system to manage, organize and prioritize client payrolls.
Run payroll for clients on the schedules for each system.
Manage tax payments and filings for each client as needed.
Onboard new payroll clients and new employees into the system.
Collaborate with clients to build strong systems for optimal communication & client management.
Offer basic HR support for clients
Help clients develop employment policies and manuals as needed

Minimum requirements:

At least one year of Payroll and HR experience preferred.
Familiarity with all GSuite products, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail
Quickbooks Online, Gusto, & Dubsado experience a plus, but not required
Basic computer, filing, printing, information management skills
Strong organizational skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Great problem solving skills and initiative
Ability to maintain client confidentiality
Strong interpersonal skills
Adaptability and problem solving skills are a must
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently but also be able to ask for help when something isn’t right.
Ability to stay organized and juggle similar tasks for multiple clients sometimes in different industries. **We work with many different industries**
Experience in a position where privacy and ethics were important

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
